Gold Box changes

Lets talk about the shiny little boxes stuffed with crystals everyone wants to get.

 

 

Problem N1 - Admin Gold PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ ...

Problem N2 - "unfair gold did not drop admin u bad!!!111!" and the neigbour battle being "OMG is raining golboxes Admin thx i make u gold statue"

 

Solution: Smart GoldBoxes: gold boxs drops each 7000 crystals with the following formula:

 

battle starts with 0% chanche of dropping. each 7 crystals in the battle fund, the gold box gets an extra 0.1% of drop chanche, untill it reaches 100% drop chanche at 7000 crystals. If the gold box drops before the 7000 crystals mark, drop percentage goes to 0 and does not raise untill the fund goes 7000. repeat for multiples like 14.000, 21.000, 28.000...

 

 

Problem N3 - Lets wait here and press P untill i hear a siren.

 

No audio playing / gold notification if the game is on background.

Lower pause time if you abuse it. after 3-4 full breaks (like 3 minutes +) your maximum wait time goes down to like 1-2 minutes.

 

 

Problem N4 - Luck-Based Goldboxes in maps like Madness, Kungur, Sepurhov, 2042, Berlin, Dusseldorf.

 

- Gold drops based on number of players. 1-16 players, 1 gold box.  16-24 2 gold boxes, 24-40 3-4 gold boxes. All drop at the same time so different clusters of tanks take shape giving fair chanches to every tanker. This would also promote near-death large maps everyone avoids.

 

- Batman-Style gold box sign in the sky for larger maps. see pics for referenceNCwgkZ9.jpg

Some of these ideas are good, but I think you're giving gold boxes way too much attention. Play the game for its gameplay, not for the chance of getting a gold box.

Lets face it, Gold boxes are the reason why most people play, new or old.

For me, gold box is just a little Bonus Minigame where i can manage to snatch those extra 1000 crystals in my wallet. i'm not a great gold hunter and just a little percentage of my income is from GB. Is there anything wrong in the little ideas i proposed?

Lets face it, Gold boxes are the reason why most people play, new or old.

What lukey says is right. lots of players's interest in the game fades away with time and what keeps them in the game are the little adrenaline rushes that come from gold boxes or the random Exciting and tense battle that pops in once in a while. The evidence is the high amount of "admin gold plz" and gold campers who just wait for it and mult the relative teams.

 

If a so-high percentage of players focus this much on the goldboxes, why not improve them to make those players happy and keep them happy in the game for a longer timespan? it looks like a Win-Win to me.

 

 

Just to let you guys know the chance for gold has changed to 1/10000:

Some staff members say it has not changed, other say it has been reduced like you say after the crystal boxes removal. Anyway, the concept is still the same.

 

 

Here a last thought i got yesterday night after i posted this: Many of us think gold boxes are giving away lots of crystals to the players, but in my opinion, they actually cost more than you get from them. an average goldbox event got 10-20 players that only on their own spend 100 crystals for 2 supplies + another 150 for an ipothetic repair kit if they happen to be under it. those supplies are worth like 3-4 times the value of the gold box itself. So the only reason we dont just play "catch the goldboxes" is that it is not a main gameplay feature but just a bonus.

I like the idea of the tip while loading. Cuz most people have no idea at all about how it happens. We even have seen multiple questions in Q&A of vlog asking about when the gold box drops or how it works. We need this in the loading.

Unfortunately, Tanki itself gives gold boxes too much attention. So it promotes gold hunters that spoil the games. There's no way a player gets 30 gold boxes in a week, unless he 's logged in 10 hours per day, every single day*. So most of the Gold hunters of the week are just gold mults. Instead of punishment they get reward. So, what do you expect?

 

 

* or he's a gold mult, entering different battles and waiting for gold box.

I think A. is more realistic cuz I joined the game cuz there was rankups,be able to play with live people instead of AI tanks,etc.

them both are wrong. most battles got a quite high amount of "gold box plz" players.

-_- Obviously you didn't read my post properly. I said MOST people play for the Gold Box, and well playing the game twice Gold popularity it a lot more now than it was a few years back probably to do with the removal to crystal boxes.

Nice effort but saying "admins don't drop golds" won't do anything, barely any people read it and even if people did, they would still say it. And the gold sign in the sky is just making lazy people more lazy, part of skill of catching golds is looking for it, it shouldn't be "look here's gold drop, look it's dropping, look, I got it."
Anyways, gold boxes aren't such a big part of the game, so I say, not that's a noob idea, but that there's no point in thinking about something small when you're trying to build a whole new version of Tanki on Unity.

N2 - That's a really good idea you got there, but I kind of like this system too.

 

N3 - Once again, a really great idea. Has been suggested by others, but this one I like better that after 3-4 breaks you get break time reduction )

Not really. I just think that there are more important ideas that the developers need to address first, but as a very long-term suggestion I guess this works...
