Score cap for standard battles (Updated on August 28)

I appreciate to end battle earlier when unequal, but battles are now finishing prematurely

the game rule should be the difference in the number of flags (not only the number)

 

the diiference rule will prevent from unequal games (your goal) that cannot finish prematurely

 

now it is impossible to reverse score from 1:4 (when playing to 5), but in older version reversal to 7:6 was possible, which was exciting

Hmmm, my theories are correct, everything in life is pay-to-win, and all video games are freemium games. Probably the players are crashing the tanki economy so they are adding this.....

Guys, please read that again.

 

"IMPORTANT: the current parameters are not final and can be changed based on the analysis of the game or the feedback provided."

 

This feature was rolled out with the intent of cutting short frustrating, one-sided battles. Our analysts are watching closely how it is affecting the game, and listening to your feedback. But it takes some time to really get a feel for how a new system affects the game, and to implement it accordingly. I have no doubt you all understand that concept.

 

Please have some patience.

I do respect how much work every update must be for the Tanki Online team, and how much effort you put into making the game more enjoyable for the players. I apologise for our lack of patience regarding this update. 

 

However, instead of implementing the update in the game and then asking for feedback, maybe it would be better to utilise the 'Ideas and Suggestions' section and Test Server more. For example, instead of implementing this update straight into the game, it may be beneficial to put it on the Test Server first. This would mean adjustments could be made before it gets put into the mainstream servers and ensure that the update is of the highest quality.

 

In addition to this, replying to topics in the 'Ideas and Suggestions' section of the forum personally would improve the quality of updates too, ensuring that the good ideas are considered for new development plans as well as more popular ideas within the community being entered into the game. This would greatly improve the relationship between staff and players, and make the atmosphere less toxic.

 

Lastly, if it is a development priority to have a 'reworked system for early battle termination', a new prospect would be to have a topic created, by a member of staff, entitled: 'What is your opinion on 'Early Battle Termination Systems? How would you solve the issue of imbalance?'. This would lessen the probability of a negative reception to an update and give many ideas for the solution to the problem.

 

Thank you for reading, sir, and it is hoped that you consider this. I'm sure that in the end, you are trying to do the best for the players. And for that, I salute you. You are what makes Tanki.

something else has just struck me

this update will also effect daily missions

i often get a mission in which i have to win 3 games

sometimes that is not just as easy as you think it will be

 

so with this stupid update what are the chances of winning a game before the time suddenly runs out?

i mean i could be on 49 for the win and some guy beats me to 50

 

i could be playing all night just to finish mission

Why are you doing this to tankers??? Now gold boxes will almost never drop. And we will receive almost nothing when the battle ends.

İs it only me to find this update literally "disgusting" ?

And also evil minded?

İt only means lesser funds, and the lesser the funds..the lesser the cyrstals..poetic justice. period.

And the primary aim by the developers with this update definitely is this; lesser funds and lesser cyrstals for the gamers.

And thanks to this update, there will be no point in parcipitating a game past ~halfway.

No more +50 frags?!!

Totally disgusting and filthy and sick...

I see no difference, you actually have more chances to get it now that 15 min battles only last 7-8 min. The biggest problem is the gold box daily mission, since the game can end before it drops, making it more difficult.

I played this evening Kungur CP, duration 15 minutes. And after some 4 or 5 minutes battle was ended...now I know why

Almost every new update / change creates stress. and problems. Sometimes I wonder what next bad news is waiting me at the Forum when I come the next day...

I don't love the change, it's almost like they are going to go back to the old format of battle settings. Keep it how it is, this change is very odd for now

tankigameking was drugging the whole time and made about 1600 crystals in less than 30 minutes with this scheme. Everyone else was totally shut out.

I think this update is meant for us to part with hard earn cash 

I did spend before I was hacked 

But I will not part with any cash now until parameters are changed and the rewards are better. 

feeling ripped off by Tanki with the changes 

and will leave if it is not changed

Early game end mechanism:

Because all Dev effort is in Unity we accept that only simple tweaks can be made to the old game.

 

Having now played small, medium and large maps CP and CTF - had Tanki chosen a 100% increase in the limits we would not have seen such a backlash.

Thanks to Semyon for responding so quickly and agreeing to this fix to be installed ready for tomorrow.  Tanki maybe should play safe and increase the numbers by 150% or even 200% - this will still allow us to end a game early that is unbalanced.

 

The problem is that Tanki should have let players decide what the limits should be and not the Tanki devs.

Last October 2014 when creating 'Standard' matches we could set the flag limit etc. - we should not have to use a Pro Pass to do this.

 

I don't think this change will increase Pro Pass sales until Pro Mode battles are more common, which won't happen until Tanki promote the Pro Pass by giving discounts or possible giving some away in the daily missions.

As a follow up to my earlier post we are now in a ridiculous position of a dominant team NOT capturing the last flag as "a gold may drop"... (golds are random people, battle length or prize fund are irrelevant http://en.tankiwiki.com/Gold_Box)

 

Battles are not ending any earlier and what is worse some players are cursing others for capturing the last flag.

 

 

Switch it off Tanki, put it in the fail file. :)

Something like this has been tried before and its a bad idea.

 

Alternatively, if this has to be kept, please tune it for only a vast difference.

i just saw 15 min Point Captures battle ending in 4 mins when score was 50-30.

A difference of 20 can be easily covered !   

same with Capture flags and death matches.

Oh no no no. This new update has spoiled the game, esp for the smaller maps like wave.

 

A better way of resolving the issue of uneven battles would be to only allow players to join a team that is losing or obviously either team if scores are even.

 

At the moment too many players only join teams that are winning, meaning the battle becomes even more uneven - and now finishes even earlier because of this update.

Lots of players only join the winning team to get the crystals and then leave as soon as the next battle starts. This means that players on the losing team often get less crystals for playing the whole battle than someone who joins with five minutes left on the clock. This is not fair and is so annoying for the players who genuinely want to play the battles for the fun of the game.

 

When you are losing 3-0 with equal team numbers and someone joins the other team, you have no chance of getting back to an even score. And that player then gets more crystals than you just for being a crystal-grabber, not a real team player.

 

Rant over, but please consider my suggestion of only allowing players to join drawing or losing teams.

Expanding on your proof, the current score caps have bred "get rich quick" druggers who will basically end battles sooner and get a nice chunk of the fund while everyone else gets less-than-satisfactory leftovers.  Certainly, this update would drive away players who don't play Pro battles and aren't as adept at handling druggers; after all, what kind of non-drugger would want to go to a battle that will most likely be unprofitable and unenjoyable for players other than druggers?
