Score cap for standard battles (Updated on August 28)

Not Liking this update. All battles I've played ended way too early with LOW battle funds. I've played Small, Medium & Large maps with  Flags, Kills and Points. It seemed not to make much difference. All ended early with alot of time left on the clock. There have been many times my team has been down flags, kills or points and have made a comeback taking it right down to the last second - Now this can't happen. Your fighting along trying to make a come back with your team and BAM game over with alot of time on the clock still. Tanki - This update need to be REVERSED or keep it an option for when you are creating a battle.

UPDATE:

     I've played for about 2 hrs after I posted this yesterday. I tried to keep an open mind, but I find it is still HORRIBLE! Battles end too quick - it's not fun anymore. If you join a team that's losing, you don't have enough time to help turn things around. You may have 8 minutes left on the clock which is enough time to turn things around (depending on your team) but the other team is too close to the cap and then BOOM 1 minute late GAME OVER! Once again it's not fun anymore. :( I shouldn't have to BUY a Pro Pass to get away from this update even though I know it's what you want us to do.

    I've been playing Tanki for about a year now. I've worked my way up in the ranks to General. I've worked through all of the "Updates" and Changes that Tanki has given us over this past year (there's been ALOT). Some I liked, Some I hated (Shaft's Laser for one), but this one has got me thinking something that has never come across my mind before ---- SHOULD I STOP PLAYING TANKI?

     I ask you to please reverse this update. If you must keep something of this change in the game, please just put it as an option for when you create a battle. Just like when you pick summer, winter or night you can pick the cap as well or not.

     Sorry Tanki - You missed on this one....

I APPRECIATE tanki's EFFORT TO RESCUE US FROM TERRIBLY UNBALANCED GAMES THAT GO ON FOR EVER. THANK YOU!!!

 

HOW ABOUT A 5 FLAG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TEAM SCORES IN CTF GAMES.

HOW ABOUT 50 KILLS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TEAMS IN TDM GAMES.

AND DEATH MATCHES, BY THEIR NATURE, ARE SUPPOST TO BE RUTHLESS. BUT I WOULD SUPPORT A NARROWING OF THE RANKS THAT COULD JOIN. OR EVEN BETTER WOULD BE A RANKING OF THE TANK BY IT'S UPGRADE STATUS (YAH, i KNOW. THAT IS A LOT OF LINES OF CODE).

 

AND FOR CP GAMES, I WOULD LIKE THE TEAMS TO ALWAYS BE EQUAL SIZE. IT IS ALMOST MATHAMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR 4 TANKERS TO COMPETE AGAINST 5 TANKERS IN A CP GAME. THE SCORE IS OUT OF CONTROL WITHIN THE FIRST 2 MINUTES OF THE GAME. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT A NEW PLAYER NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE MAP UNTIL SOMEONE JOINS THE OTHER TEAM ALSO.    THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF TURNOVER IN TEAM NUMBERS ESPECIALLY IN CP MODE, AS TANKERS FULFILL THEIR "MISSION REQUIREMENTS" AND LEAVE.

 

CP MODE WOULD BE A GOOD PLACE TO EXPERIMENT WITH TEAM BALANCE.

 

On a related problem, I have finished first in at least 3 games, but not received credit for "FINISH FIRST MISSION REQUIREMENT" because all team members on other team quit. Once I waited 8 minutes, only to have to play additional games. I got to first place by running up my score. This hardly seems fair to those of us who stay till the game is over.

 and i agree missions are bad idea to but your asking to much to be done lets stick to the basics get them right everybody benefits and the ranking system hasnt been right since day one .

I hate this update so bad. I was in a 15 minute polygon cp. The score was 45-40. Then I hear the siren for the Goldbox go off. I find where it is then I got ready then a few seconds later I got on top of everyone and was about to get the Goldbox. then all of a sudden the 45 turns into a 50 and the battle ends right when I am inches from taking the Goldbox. I was so mad that I stopped playing the game for a about 2 hours. I was so mad :angry:

ok last post ..i hope tanki takes notice of this one ... bring back the update wer if a team is dominating a battle and the other side all leave the battle ends after 2 mins this was a great idea that you should have refined and introduced on a permanent basis. bring this one back and ditch the crazy (no one likes at all ) new update. you are making a game that is very competitive and brilliant and turning it into a well i wont say whats on my mind for fear of a life ban please just get rid of it ....

Why not just have an "I surrender" button?  If the majority of the team wants a reset - why not?

When pressing surrender you stay in battle but are just a ghost - you cannot move or choose to undo the surrender.

 

If enough of your team surrenders then the battle is over.

 

This way the players get to choose when to end the battle instead of the system doing it for us.

As a tanker who does not chase the Gold Boxes, the only thing that has really entertained me in this new update is the number of times (three, so far) that my game has ended after the announcement of the Gold Box drop but before anybody could get it.

yay. i love this update, havent even seen it yet but still love the sound of it

suppose you like laser on shaft to .. get real us experienced tankers who play the game at a high and competitive level no this update is hopeless and is wrecking the game badly.

mmm bad idea because lots of battles have low rankers alongside us if the high rankers who press button most of the low rankers of a certain age (kids) just battle on oblivious are do parkour (which is so annoying) idea is mostly good one but needs more thought bro

On first impressions, this would seem to affect small maps far more than large ones. 

I rarely see 5 flags captured in 15 minutes on Highway or Monte Carlo CTF, for example, but these limits seem far too low for smaller maps, and will reduce battle funds earned for skilful players.

 

A different end-win-condition for each individual map (or size class) would seem a sensible adjustment of this update.

 

To enhance this, Tanki could officially classify each map's size...

 

(1) Tiny           eg. Island, Ping Pong, Duel, Hill

(2) Small         eg. Valley, Wave

(3) Medium     eg. Polygon, Farm

(4) Large         eg. Monte Carlo, Rio

(5) Huge         eg. Kungur, Highway

 

...and have restricted win conditions based on the size class of the map (conditions increased by length of battle)

 

Also, as this update is meant to stop unfair battles due to team sizes, the ratio of players on each team could also be used to calculate the win conditions at the start of a battle.

nope wrong all wrong JUST GET RID OF UPDATE  stick to basics get the basics right every 1 is a winner jeeze wat does it take to make people realise this.

As it was said, the current parameters are not final. Further tweaking can, and most likely will be done. Perhaps we'll do exactly what you mention: the cap will be individual for each map.

nope sorry ur wrong to ( love the v log by way ) no tweaking just get rid of it .stick to basics ./

Hey, Semyon, I have a story for you!

 

I was logging on to Tanki Online one day, minding my own business, checking my missions to find that one of them was to earn experience on Monte Carlo and another was to earn experience on CP (and the third was some crap about boxes) and I thought to myself, Huh, I've never played Monte Carlo in the CP gamemode!

So I made the battle, invited some friends, and got about 5 people on each team to join. The game was pretty balanced, the other team was getting all the kills and we were getting all the points. Games were under 5 minutes long.

Then, when I just switched to shaft from hammer for its range, a golden-colored message appeared.

"Gold box will be dropped soon."

Then, the usual procedure. That surge of adrenaline, then quickly equipping my hornet with double armor and driving to the top. After several seconds I added a nitro to speed things up.

As I drive towards the center on the top, ready to outskill everyone else with the useful tips from the last V-LOG, the TAB menu appears. I started smashing my TAB button, thinking that it glitched or something, soon to realize the battle ended.

As soon as I respawned, I drove quickly to the spot where three or so other tanks were around, to find that there was no drop point to be seen.

Everyone was complaining, and I promised to immediately go to the forums and complain. And complain I did.

Don't even be fooled with this statement. Say the update is permanent and stop lying to your community.

How true, how true. Recently the devs haven't been listening to the tankers, all the way from near the end of last year.

Guys, we have suggested solutions for this issue many times, but they were rejected because they were not the mother of all solutions that would put an end to world hunger, wars, ignorance, and illness.

 

And, ...

 

Then Tanki comes out and makes the silliest solution ever. We could not think of that because of how silly and useless it is.

Incidentally, I prefer to join losing teams as well, to support those players, try to pitch in and turn the tide, and make that battle better for everybody, hopefully. There is very little point to that now, or time for it. Unbelievable update.

 

And again incidentally, I've learned the most--by a long way--while fighting on with a team that was getting slaughtered.

 

It's very clear the developers do not actually play at all.

has anyone looked into any positive side of this? well this should encourage people to play more pro battles which that will reduce the amount of drugging that occurs in almost every non pro battle before this update.

They can do that by bringing the price of the PRO pass down. That would not irritate everybody either. It will also have more people buy it, so it is not all that bad.

Please consider that every modification that is intended to level the playing field just adds one more wrinkle that can be exploited by drug monkey raiding party cheater teams who dont mind bending the rules concerning 'power leveling'.

The white flag idea for instance is goofy ... you could join a battle as a mult and then immediately surrender.  Your friends on the opposite team have one less player to worry about on your team.

 

As to the current mod ... I predict certain maps will be seen as an easy mop-up for the raiders.

 

On a related note, someone should look into the hack that allows one to join the majority team ... I have been in several battles lately where it went from 6-4 directly to 7-4 (for instance) while I was watching the leader board.

 

If drugging, cheating and power leveling is the kind of behavior you wish to promote (perhaps it brings money into the coffers?) then forget the 'Rules' and start having cheating contests and award extra points to the best hackers.  Sell hacks in the garage etc.
