Score cap for standard battles (Updated on August 28)

I guess it depends. It is taking me about 2-3 weeks to  increase rank at this point so I should be Gismo long before Christmas comes.

 

I'm not really sure if I'll upgrade anything else, although, I do see that Mammoth M3 works damn well in Polygon CP if you have two of them together guarding the CP. :)

 

The only other turret I might consider upgrading is Twins. Right now I only have M1 so that's going to be a big expense.

 

My main goal for upgrading to Viking would be when I use Isida. I still prefer the speed of Hornet (which I already have at M3) and that's mostly because I love to create chaos and confusion by appearing out of nowhere and attempting to melt a few tanks in the enemy base (and it's great for leaping off buildings in Rio).

The three M3 turrets I have I got through kits, and before then I had M0 of them, so I saved a lot in addition to the discount on the kit. I also had Viking M0 before I bought the Medic Kit. Buying kits saved me incredibly. I got them at an effective discount that is above 50%--early too.

 

Going back to the PRO pass topic. Its value is questionable because it is not used a lot. The fact that I am not a Gizmo with a Mammoth and a few upgraded M3 paints makes my selection smaller than it already is, so the free battles are still my main bread and butter.

I rarely ever see enough Pro battles going to really justify it as well.

 

I got most of my garage last Christmas using a double bonus card coupled with the sales/multiplier at the time. It allowed me to essentially get everything possible at my rank at the time in M2. I think Twins was one of the few I could not get then, hence, the reason why it is still at M1 along with Viking.

I just found the best technique to play with this update. If your team gets 10 points behind in a TDM or CP just leave the battle.  At least that seems to be what almost everyone is doing. I ended up out numbered 10 to 2 again. This almost never happened before the score caps, but it happens multiple times a day now. Maybe thats why there were only 42 people on the entire server again tonight. Can anyone tell me where all the tankers on the English servers have gone?  :(

This update has caused far more problems than it has solved.

 

You're right, you might as well leave a battle now as soon as the score starts to get to a certain gap (perhaps more than 10 though) because you know that there is no chance to regroup and fight back - even with plenty of time left on the clock.

 

New people won't bother to join now for the same reason - they can see by the score that it's a lost cause, unless they are only joining to start the next round or they have missions to complete.

 

The only ones that I can see who benefit are the first couple of people on the winning side - the rest of the players get very few crystals for staying and trying to fight back, and the battle fund is too low even for some of the players on the winning side.

 

On the other side are those really good battles with plenty of players and very close scores. They too are cut short by the cap - which causes a lot of frustration and anger.

 

This is a case of quantity over quality of gameplay.

 

English kids are back at school now, so that will have some effect on the numbers I should think.

IMPORTANT: the current parameters are not final and can be changed based on the analysis of the game or the feedback provided.

 

Why not be patient guys ???

 

We have all seen tankionline giving updates and tweaking them later. If they say it they do it ! I have  never been disappointed in my 3 years of playing tankionline.

 

We need to give them some time instead of rushing it on and following the sheep mentality by just repeatedly posting what others already have !!!

 

Stay Patient and give them The respect they deserve and the Time, they need. I am pretty sure they will tweak everything soon.

 

You will not be disappointed.

Its been days now and no further updates (which are needed) have been implanted.

Wouldn't you be there around Christmas?

 

I have all these. I need to get the Rico M3 and do upgrades. In the future, I may get Titan or Mammoth M3, but not now, not that I can get the Mammoth at my rank (without a kit).

 

In PRO battles, the substitute for drugging is Mammoth M3/M4 with M3/M4 paints. You feel similarly helpless like against druggers.

There are many pro battles with no MU. And its very enjoyable. About the price of the pass, you can win 5k in one day, so its not a problem.

First, I hate battles without MUs, because I paid many crystals for those MUs that I have.

 

Second, they still can have Mammoths with Gizmo paints which can render your turret or tank an M0.

 

Third, turrets that unlock at higher ranks are more potent than those that unlock at lower ranks. So, when MUs are not allowed, high ranks have more powerful tanks than lower ranks. It is not a flat field. However, if it were XP/BP without MUs, it would be a flat field.

Thanks for all the feedback! (was pretty intense, huh?)

 

We believe the system works all right in DM, TDM and CTF. However, we agree that CP performance is not perfect.

 

That's why we'll be looking into the best way of reworking the system for CP mode.
