Hmm well first of all, let's say Hornet is the only use-able hull, since it looks like a racing car. Let's say micro-upgrades are disabled, let's say all have the same modification, for example M1. Well, everyone is at the same exact speed.

In reality, there have been. No, they weren't just for racing, and racing wasn't a mode on it, but they work. Maps like Deathtrack, Monte Carlo, and the old New Years Race.

 

 

I would think the idea is good on paper, but in reality it wouldn't work too good for everyone. The speeds of the hulls are too far apart for it to be a close race. Although some people, like me, would be up to the challenge.

Maybe you can ask a dev to create the map or something for all ranks
