New - "Flare" - Suggestion for Unity Tanki!

Hello Everyone! B) 

 

As we all know, there are many different nationalities who play tanki,

In The English servers, you can find german, french, spanish and many other people..

the point is that they don't understand your chat [ language ] ..

such as if you want to say "flag behind house" or "Defend" or "Attack" ..

they don't understand what you wrote and then team work starts fading away ...

When Theres no team work, no understanding, team starts losing..

 

Not Anymore! , Introducing the NEW "Flare" !!  :ph34r:

 *Works in Unity*

How Is Flare Useful?  :o 

Flare can be used as a distraction or for better team understanding,

and directing your team to a certain place, ie Anywhere on the map.

 

What is Flare?  :blink: 

Its a small "Tin/Can" which is thrown away from your tank..[similiar to a grenade]

while its in the air it shoots smoke outside, smoke color depends on your team [blue/Red].

The "Tin/Can" flies a certain distance.It has weight so it falls down, but if the distance 

is completed within the air, the smoke just fades away and the "Tin/Can" falls down 

like an empty shell. OR shell can also fade away.. [ Vote Q2 ]

How Is Flare Activated?  :huh: 

A New Button will be assigned to Flare [ Vote Q3 ], when the button is pressed [and hold] , it takes your camera little away from your tank, and screen changes to "new" aiming mode, Now we can move the mouse to look around and aim. once aimed, release button to shoot. OR Click to shoot .. [ Vote Q4 ]

The Tank cannot be driven or shoot in aiming mode. if died, returned to normal mode.

the gun will not turn with the mouse. [ only camera view will ]

CoolDown?  :mellow: 

The Number of Flares you have will be specified near your available supplies.

Flare can be turned off in the Pro Battle [ Flare is not a supply, or is? ].

You can only use one flare After Respawning, so when you die you can use another one.

OR have cooldown times .. [ Vote Q5 ]

Can It be Used in Deathmatch Mode?  :mellow: 

Theres no use for Deathmatch mode. Therefore, Flares cannot be used in DM or 1 vs 1.

 

Uses in Different Modes?  ^_^ 

CTF -

There are many uses in CTF mode:

Throwing a flare from your base to enemy base [ attack ]

Throwing a flare at your own base [ defend ]

Throwing a flare from where the enemy is hiding with your flag [ Team Work ]

Throwing a flare from where enemy is running away with your flag [ Team Work ]

Throwing a flare at a camper [ Team Work ]

CP -

Throwing a flare at a weak point [ Attack ]

Throwing a flare at own point [ Defend ]

Throwing a flare at enemy owned point [ Team Work ]

TDM -

Throwing a flare at map [ enemy approaching, Team Work, Drugger ]

Throwing a flare at own base [ Defend ]

Throwing a flare at enemy base [ Attack ]

Throwing a flare at a camper [ Team Work ]

Parkour -

Throwing a Flare at a building/object to indicate what parkour they are going to do.

Rankup-

Accessory for a beautiful Rankup  :D

Drawbacks?

Too much smoke can pollute the environment  :P

I dont see any other drawback/disadvantage,

infact, this is help people develop new strategies.

please specify in the comments if any.

The ability to change colours is good, but in team matches the colours should remain associated with the teams.  Both teams using red and blue flares could be confusing.  So, for example, smoke colours could be-

  • Red team:  Red and purple.

  • Blue team:  Blue and green.

Would be interesting to see this in the game, I think it would be a useful way of communication because like you said not everyone speaks the same language and/or is on voice chat. However, I'm not sure how this would play out for people with lower system specifications, a smoke effect sounds pretty graphically intensive, which could raise the minimum requirements for the new TO.

Smoke is pretty simple, firing a single shot of hammer produces some smoke, consider firing 10 hammers at once huge smoke..

it wont effect requirements much, :)

Other examples of effects similar to smoke in the game:  dust is generated from the tracks when a tank drives.  The programming for firebird and freeze's projectile would be similar to a smoke effect.

yes, freeze can also be seen in the vlog, looks like blue smoke already :P
