Instant 999 ping

So this happens to me a lot and I really don't know what's to blame nor what to do about it...

.My laptop is about a year old.

.I use Google Chrome.

.I keep my computer up to date.

.I use the ethernet cable.

.I close ALL other programs except Tanki.

.I clear my cache daily.

.I don't use automatic graphic quality and no volume so I just have "Show Drop Zones", "Mip-mapping" & "Show FPS and ping" on.

...and I still can't get the random 999 ping from happening. I usually have 40-60 FPS + 90-125 ping but lately iv'e been getting random 999 ping out of no where and it doesn't drop until an hour or two have passed. I tried refreshing the page, restarting my laptop (sometimes works) and shutting down my computer for a long time (works but I have to wait for 1-2 hours) When the random 999 ping starts to happen my FPS is unaffected. It even happens when I am the only one that uses the internet. I don't really know what to blame for this nor what to do about it, so please help. This ruined me in countless battles and even made me miss the 5x battle funds.

Post here results of WinMTR diagnostics, please. It's better to do it during gameplay (and lagging)

Yes I noticed windows 10 causes some of these problems but I think you missed a CRUCIAL fact. 

 

This ruined me in countless battles and even made me miss the 5x battle funds.  

Windows 10 wasn't released when Tanki was having 5x battle funds for a day. Even if it was released by that time, I never got it until August 28th, 2015. So it isn't really related to Windows 10, as it started long before I got it. But thanks anyways.

It's still new, so it has not been fully optimized for everything right now. My advice? Give it some time. Let your new laptop adapt to everything. If it still does not solve anything, well, you might want to get better internet or move your modem somewhere reasonable. 

 

I used to have a ping of 30 when I played in my basement. I moved to my room and my ping reached 90. I put my new PC in the basement and got a ping of 20. So, you might want to move around your house and figure out where is the best place to play Tanki.

 

P.S It is not a problem to have different things on while playing Tanki. It will not cause ping lag but fps lag

1. You have 4% loss on your DSLAM. That's bad, you should try to solve this problem with support of your ISP

2. Same 4% loss is on endpoint. It causes lags (999 ping).

3. Huge unstable ping. It causes lags too.

I have it too i had a computer for over a year and it started just leave the battle and reenter play small maps or play battles with less people i sometimes only join battles i created helps alot #1yrstruggle

Well...I only prefer to play in Polygon Maps so yeah.
