Except that in the past year they have lied and removed things from the game which make the game less fun and create more imbalance. The score cap was the latest in this nonsense.

 

They gave 50% off because of Star Ladder and back in June yet give lower discounts on what is supposed to be an important military holiday in Russia? Seems a bit dishonorable to me.

You say there were no expectations. Did you read this thread? What is this? Do you need to be hit on the back of your head with a sledge hammer to get it? This whole thread of complaints is because Tanki did not meet the expectations of its customers. Now, you can say the customers have no right to have any expectations. A good vendor senses the expectations of their customers and sets it straight when it is wrong.

 

You say I can't ride on old expectations. Actually, I can. Most of us could. The proof is that they did.

 

When someone treats me with disrespect, I can deal in kind. They started it, so we are not to blame.

 

I hope this helps you understand where we come from regardless of whether you sympathize with us or not. When you are against the majority, you should ask yourself whether you are on the right side. If the majority is wrong, it has to be for a good reason.

That is exactly what I am talking about. The customers had an expectation, but it was wrong. Tanki set it straight by changing the customer's expectation.

Guys! Be ready for the Xmas sale.

I expect a whole day double fund (on DM only). A huge 33% discount on Turrets and Hulls. 

There will probably be discount on MU, too, but not on SpeedUps preventing to much steps that not deserved.

Almost forgot the gold box. At 01.01.2016 there may be GB of 2016 cry dropped for 2016 seconds.

 

If there will be no any sale/discount e.g. in Unity, you won't be disappointed at all due to the rate of it  :P

Oh don't worry I was arrogant way before Tanki man :D but seriously league and dota are industries on their own, despite that they too benefit from volunteers, and I won't comment about CoC's workings, cause I only started it on a tablet, never really went past 2 or 3 days on that then gave the tablet to one of my aunt.  However those who know anything about them having a volunteering program feel free to express your opinions on that here 

 

People live game becouse of dragers hakers cheaters mults lag, simply is not atractive becouse of it. It really is, and its not that they did nothing to prevent it, its more to do with the fact that this is a building made out of cards or straws and however much you patch it or add glue to solidify it, it still never will be able to stand the huge loads all our expectations is trying to impose on it.  And that's where the Unity plan comes in, this one is being made from the very foundations with reinforced concrete so that it can tackle all the issues you mention + add new features + tackle all issues that eventually comes with those new features and so on .....

Plus, the guy didn't even said about sales EVERY weekend, he just said "more frequent" than every 3 months (huge difference), which is what exactly happens right now.

 

Last but not least, since you think you funny, check out 9Dragons, that online game is older than Tanki, and they have sales/events every weekend. Don't believe me? Give it a try instead of trying to be funny ;)

 

Keep in mind that all this "crying" comes from a really succesful non-buyer player, since i am 1st and winning most of my battles, therefore i still earn crystals well over a mediocre player, and my garage on my most recent 1 year-old account is lame, i have only XP M3 so...I can only imagine how hard it is, for a player with less experience and thus less success in battles, to get enough crystals in order to buy something.

Like i said in a previous post, I see players each week getting absurd amount of crystals by not even buying and not even playing non-stop, they just know the ways, and if you're a really successful non-buying player I'm pretty sure that by now you'd have had hints as to how to accomplish all that ;)

True story. A long time ago I managed a location for a national US pizza chain. The owner had a $5.99 carryout and he decided to do away with it because he wanted people to get deliveries instead. I told him it was a major mistake - but he failed to listen. His thinking was that if he got rid of that and went to the regular price he would double his money AND increase delivery sales (since $5.99 was 50% the price of a delivered pie). When he got rid of the $5.99 carryout then sales tanked (no pun intended) and there was no increases in delivery sales. People were angry. Carryout sales plummeted from $2000 per week to less than $100.

 

Now, a large 1 topping pizza cost $1.25 to produce (food and labor included). So, for him, earning $4.74 wasn't good enough - he wanted more. As a result he ended up getting nothing. He lost money and made customers angry. It took a long time to recover carryout sales after that (I finally convinced him to return back to the original $5.99 price).

 

Here's "capitalism" for you: $4.74 in your pocket is better than $0 in your pocket.

 

In other words: if people are angry with a 40% discount then Tanki earns NOTHING. $0. You don't pay the bills by pissing people off and subsequently causing them to put their wallets away.

 

At 50% off people are happy and probably will spend real money to buy crystals. Something of something is better than all of nothing.

Best example at sports games:

 

Pack of 24 waters~ rougly 3 dollars

1 Water sold at game for~ 3 dollars

Also the pack of 24 waters is at a store price what if they get it directly from the company it is probably 2 dollars

 

so really they sell 1 water and get their money back for that 24 pack plus some profit already

24*3= $72

so they have made 36 times the profit........

This is called modern day capitalism^

You talk about Tanki not meeting expectations, but there literally were no expectations set yet. The sales change all the time. 2012's Tankmen's day was only 25% on garage items for 2 days. 2013's was only 50% off because they made us do contests and take screenshots and stuff to get there. That one could have easily been 30% off or 40%. 2014's was the only one where they gave us 50% off on Tankmen's Day "just cause".

 

They also never claimed that "Tankmen's Day will always be 50% off!". The prices were not given til they were announced. You can't just ride on old expectations and be pissed off when the new one's aren't identical.

I actually didn't expect any good from Tanki here and I'm not very disappointed [oh maybe a bit that there is no MU discount at all]. I halted buying cristals last month and see not motivation in doing so in the near future. There are too many tricks and uncertainties from Tanki. I also don't like the way Semyon Kirov delivers the messages. He behaves like a big "boss" among little children telling them what is right. Also the fact that Russian players pay much less than the others is something sick. I think it's not the huge discounts will blow the economy of the game but the way like players are treated. There are much better ways in improving game economy without loosing faith. You could tell exactly periods of the year where discounts are expected + some ranges. You can give discounts on birthdays to players. Whatever. Souch things would move the balance sheet and that would be fair.

I agree with those saying the problem is not the rate of the discount, but the failure they made in the communication.

They know how the sales influenced the TO as a business, so they can make the right decision. If we had been informed early enough about the rate or about the changes of reduced actions after the last year, no expectations would have been built up.

 

I used to be a buyer. Now I am quite reluctant even to consider to buy crystals, simply because I have not seen a consistent information about the strategy and vision of TO. 

We could live without any sales, and Semyon is right we can get used to that in time (feeling the bitterness). I know especially long-time players would miss that and may leave.

 

The problem: It seems the issues of reduced income as well as the possible ways of resolutions have not been analysed carefully. Without an analysis of all these changes they made those seem to be just random attempts to find a solution.

 

Finally, those mistakes in communication - from which one of them I mentioned before - may make the players stop investing money in TO. I would be sorry loosing TO, so I wish them luck for the future. However I think not only a good game and excellent graphics in Unity is needed for that. We need a clear communication about their vision of TO and the trust rebuilt. 

Rebuilding something (especially trust) is always harder than building first time.
