Restrictions for XP/BP

Recommended Posts

Most of us that have had the opportunity to play XP/BP have noticed that one lagger can ruin the outcome of an entire battle.

Now the reason im targeting this type of format battle is because ever so often there is always that one person who lags and ruins the game for everyone else. Im not talking about being disconnected although that plays a major part, im talking about players whose equipment does not perform well with tanki. Not only do they bother their teammates but they also bother the server and cause players to crash and have to reload. I cant tell you how many times its happened to me and it normally takes more than 2 minutes to reload. By then im removed from battle. I am aware of the 5 minutes, but thats the in game timer... a staff member pointed out to me that you have two minutes to reenter the game and save your progress before you are kicked.

My suggestion is: Anyone with a frame rate of 20 and below should not be able to play XP/BP. Instead the developers should make a different optimized format, that will perform well with 3gb's of ram.

Heres why i am suggesting this other than laggers bother everyone...

2.7.1  Lags and disconnects are part of on-line gaming and are heavily dependant on the quality and stability of the player's equipment and internet connection to the game servers.

2.7.2  Participants agree to take part in eSports events and tournaments at their own risks and shall not hold the administration or the game makers accountable for issues related to their internet connection or equipment.

2.7.3  Participants suffering from lags should do their best to reduce it (refresh, reload, close other CPU or bandwidth consuming programs, connecting to their routers directly via cable, etc...) and are obligated to do so if asked by their opponents during a battle.

2.7.4  Teams should substitute a lagging player upsetting the balance of a match at the earliest opportunity or if asked by their opponents.

and

2.6.4  All participants should ensure they have the required in-game equipment, supplies and passes for duration of any event they take part in, and should they run out of any during the course of the event they will be solely held liable for it.

If Tanki Online is not responsible for a players equipment then why should the players of the communities be?

how is lagging related to FPS?

fps is frame rate per second , which is how many frames ur PC i displaying in a second

according to me lagging means when the player u know teleports from one place to another

P.s im ok for both as my FPS is 50-60 and ping is usually below 80

Well, i dont know the answer to that but i will tell you my thoughts on it.

When players have low FPS, the higher the Ping. Ping is one of the major lags in TO. My equipment is not fancy, i use an HP Pavillion that has 6gb's of ram and 1tb of ssd storage. I did what i could to increase my FPS all the way from 5-27, to 20-30, to 30-40 and now with my success 50-60. My ping is usually 50-80, at times it can go as high as 109. I had raised the Flash Player cache from 4kb's to unlimited, enabled hardware acceleration, disabled all graphics other than mip mapping, skybox. I also swapped out IE on my desktop for GC, and IE, GC, SFP on my laptop for MF.

Lags leads to teleports, but it first allows the player to crash into walls and other tankers, causing those tankers aim to be knocked off. They can also flip other tanks while all those players see is them being rolled onto their side while the laggers tank is crashing and teleporting to different locations every second.

Nope. Ping and FPS are completely unrelated.

When i had 5-27 FPS, my Ping was close to 300... the higher my FPS, the lower my ping. I was just relating them cause of how they behaved through my optimization of TO.

actually i can show u images, when i used to play from my PC , my FPS was between 10-30 but my ping was always below 80.

see the lag and ping are a different matter and should be taken into case differently, i would like if u can stop these both as they are unrelated to each other in 90% of cases

If your FPS increased when you switched to a different PC, then the most likely reason why your ping was lower is because the other PC had a better internet connection system, as well as improved graphics cards and other stuff that helps FPS. If you were simply changing your game settings, then I don't know what's happening...

If you are lagging then your frame rates can drop as your computer catches up with the information coming from the server once the bottleneck is cleared.

In general, though, ping and FPS are unrelated.

About the only time the two can go hand in hand is when you have a laptop and instead of having a real dedicated network card it is using something akin to a WinModem to offload much of the network processing to the CPU. This can cause high ping and low FPS.

The one problem with this is lagging is not constant. I am almost never called a "lagger", but every once in a while (maybe once a week max) my ping skyrockets for about 10 seconds, and I lag on other player's screens. Also, I have been told i'm lagging when my ping is below 50 and my fps is 60. I like the idea of an optimized battle, but the parameters of a lagger need to be somehow defined clearly.

Lagging is Ping. FPS is quality. Everyone may expirience lags sometimes in their career, unless they have NASA internet and a gaming PC with a 10 GB graphic card :P I have a simple laptop and using the internet that was there, I get 60 FPS and 11 ping but SOMETIMES it dances around. It's not just the players' internet that causes lags sometimes, the server maybe too heavily loaded or might be giving lag spikes frequently to any battles made in the server. You just gotta deal with it because some day you might be that lagger and those team mates would be thinking the same about you.

I play xp bp on my main with 10 FPS. I come out well off. Fps does not determine usefulness to team. If someone is lagging to where they are jumping and going in circles uncontrollably I agree. But the enemy should have etiquette and wait. Everyone should vote player and maybe a mod can remove the player if the player is refusing to leave

My desktop is connected by Ethernet, and my laptop is connected via wireless connections. My ping is fine, its just that other tankers lag and it annoys the (_____) out of me.

You must understand that the vote command does not work...

No; and here's why. How would you feel if Tanki suddenly didn't let you play your favorite game mode  forever? Exactly what's happening to these guys. See, some families are really poor and can barely afford a laptop. Restricting people who have bad internet only makes it worse. And I believe many players have low FPS. This will just make them leave the game.
