Playing with higher ranked players

 Share

Recommended Posts

i played a couple of serpuhov ctf matches today

i was the lowest ranked player in the matches

i can honestly say i had more fun playing those games than i have had in a long time

these guys know how to play this game and i did notice that supplys were only used where necessary

and far more teamwork in the fact that everyone was looking after their team players

i was using my thunder m3 mammoth m2 combo defending the flag

and regulary i was topped up by isidas when i was low on health

not even having to ask in the chat

some people say not to play with higher ranked players (could be true if your very low ranked)

but as i say i got a lesson in how to properly play this game

anyone have their opinion on this?

To effectively learn how to play the game, you HAVE to play with higher ranked players once in a while.

just remeber to be extremely open minded and use the right equipment combo for the battle.

you must have a working combo and a certain amount of skills to stay here, because remember that theorically you are only an heavywheight for your team.

Minimize the damage, playing tactically and listening to your team, maybe leaving the main attacking and midlfielder roles for the more experienced players and playing support, sniper or defender.

And to avoid being a penality for your team, stick to medium-large battles where a weaker member is counterbalanced by the high amount of players, like silence, sepurhov or kungur.

The intensive gameplay might be hard to get used to, so i suggest you to stick to 15 or 30 minutes battles and save the long ones for when you know you are ready for them.

You will be often asked to leave, many times only based on your rank: if you are performing well, dont listen and stay, but if your DL and score is really low, listen and leave.

I usually play with people around my rank...neither too high, nor too low...

Exceptions:

1) Playing with high ranks:

When I feel that slowly I am getting too noobish player, I gradually increase my rank limit...and go upto field marshal...but then gradually decrease it again, coz i feel demotivated, if I am not amongst the 'men of the match'..:P

2) when I am too bored to play, I just decrease my rank limit and play with Lieut. and WOs... its very funny to play with them...the WOs die at your touch..:P...except a few who buy M2 kits...

Thus, I personally feel that one should play with all ranks, rather than just sticking to a higher or just a lower ranks..

Higher ranks definitely do follow some battle etiquette, especially in team battles. It's nice to see when your teammate does things like looking around before taking a repair kit, seeing me with lower health and letting me have it instead. Or letting me take a double damage when he sees that I already have DA and nitro activated. Unfortunately still not even half of all high rank players are like that.

I think etiquette and ethics is more about the player than necessarily rank. I see just as much poor sportsmanship at higher ranks as I did at lower ranks. When I am confronting an enemy and they suddenly feel the need to hit DD just to keep from losing it tells me all I need to know about that person.

I think battles like this are few and far between. I believe the majority of games are now stacked in favour of those who use mults. I've been on for a couple of hours tonight and am yet to find a fair game. I'm now gonna play my @EscapeVelocity account for the rest of the evening because I'm bored of asking the opposite team to remove their mults.

Just play intelligently and players above you will appreciate it. Don't waste time in the garage. If you're getting killed a lot then you're wasting time and being a burden. Play to your strengths.

Also try a DM against higher ranked players.

All you 'll need are sufficient basic skills to be able to put up a fight.

Because your fighting stronger equipment and mostly stronger players

you will be the underdog and often a target.

This "automatically" helps to improve your survival techniques and play in

a smart way.

And ofcourse DM 's learn you to be able to fight on your own, which

is not easy: skils learned in DM will be very useful in team battles.

Though if you only get killed and never make a kill yourself, you 're just not up to

it yet and better try later.

Nice aspect of playing DM is that you are never a mult and will not be accused

of being one. This means you can play more "relaxed", nobody is depending on you.

"Relaxed" is relative, you will be seen as an easy target and mostly treated like one,

on the other hand: you are most welcome... ;)

If possible try to team up with a good player: one enemy less and a friend in need.

If u want highest reward or if u want to get on the top and complete your missions. Take my advice don't go to high rank battles without m3 equipment and skills. But if u wanna learn new stuff and tactics , learn how to play more effectively Battle gizmos its gonna be beneficial as u will be able to play like a pro when u are playing in low ranked battles.  ;)

As soon as player gets strongest combo available at his rank and that he likes best, he should start playing with high ranked players. They possess required skills and tactics which are important for good gameplay - for win.

Trust me, when you HAVE to play with high ranks, it's not always fun.

Yes, some of the high ranked players are quite mature, and they know how to play as a TEAM. As some of the above tankers explained.
But that's not usually the case. Sometimes you get some really selfish people that by looking at them, you'd think they are not playing team battle, but a DM. Quite the selfish attitude.

However, having a good team that is supportive and acts like a team is simply a blessing, I had the fortunate opportunity to have such teams in my previous games (not as often as you'd think), and it was a really fun experience, how we play, the team work we did, how we attack together, it was all amazing. Sadly, that's not always the case.

So playing with friends is absolutely the best way to enjoy the game, undoubtedly.

It's true that a fair battles are really rare these days, but I do enjoy playing fair battles than unfair/dead battles that are really boring as always. As I have a main  acc at generalissimo ( unreasonably banned from chat XD ). I'd love to have a few lower rank players in my team giving all their best in a high rank battles ( even with m2 items, not lower upgrades) and our team would still have similar strength as opposing team. And that the battle results from both team are nearly similar (win or loose) or even a tie. It's a joy to play battle like this.

With my main acc, I had quite unfortunate experience with a player who happens to be a chat mod whom I do not want to mentioned his nick did exactly same as you described. In CTF Madness (always a broken battle) and he treats it like DM destroying any players he could find at the top and drugs 24/7.

I have to agree. I was playing a Noise CTF XP with/against Generalissimos (or however you spell it). One of the most team-based games I've ever played. Everybody played for the team, not for themselves. Wasn't that unfair either, I had a moderate score at the end. It was a great time.

If you want to get to see higher ranks in actions the best way to fit in initially is with Isida. Every player appreciates being healed and even a low tier Isida is better than none at all.

However, if you join and notice 3 or 4 other Isidas then you will be hindering the team as you are taking a spot that could be used by someone with better skills or equipment. I have left battles when at lower ranks because I did not want to hold them down.

(Many months ago I had a friend keep inviting me to higher rank battles and I would join for a short time - if I felt I could not keep up I would tell him why and say "I think I need to leave so someone with a better tank can join.")

My experience is that a majority of generalissimos seem to drug constantly and without reason.  Expensive to keep up.  Whereas in other ranks, even field marshall and below there are usually only one or two druggers per team.
