NVM 40 % vs 50% It ruined every ones's plan because all were planning for 50 sale and to get turrets and hulls.

No one planned for 40 so they got annoyed.

Tanki is so very gracious with you. In spite of how much you slander them and accuse them of nationalistic bigotry, they still allow you to buy crystals at the same price that Russians do...

 

Seriously? Okay then, let everyone buy crystals in rubles, not just the Russians (and others in their area) and more people will be happy. The difference between buying in Euros/USD and Rubles is huge.

Well said! Now, since you are aware about how tanki is a business and needs money to run, I assume that you'll decline to get paid crystals for your articles? After all, no pay is better than getting paid, right? Just like how 40% is better than 50% in terms of sales? After all, the crystals you get for the artices may hurt the economy...

Here are my thoughts on this article. A bit of a rash post; I wrote it on the way to an important race so I was in a stressed situation, evident by my grammatical errors :rolleyes:.  Nevertheless, some of my points still stand. Read at your own risk.

To the Pony, with all respect:

This article seems to ignore that many players of Tanki Online are young.

They often react in a very positive or a very negative way.

Often accompanied with some kind of insults and accusations.

My view on those kind of reactions is that they are mostly outcries and it 's

up to the reader how seriously you take them...I don 't take them so seriously.

 

Many of those "just wanna play Tankers" (which is not meant an insult!)

simply don 't give or haven 't given any thought at all about TO 's economy:

nor should they IMO.

They are just here to play the game and are not interested how the game works and

even less how it is kept running.

And the economy of TO is also TO 's business. It 's up to them to keep it running.

So how you can be so condemning and scornful to those kind of players in this article

As stated before many expected a 50% discount, I did too though I 'm not with those who claim

that one "official" said that it would be 50%.

No, I was expecting it also because it seemed to be a tradition. That 's partly my fault because

I know that TO is entitled to change discounts, but as I see it is also partly TO 's mistake:

TO should IMO have communicated in advance to the Tanker 's Day, that we better shouldn 't

expect a 50% this time.

That would have given some turmoil too, but if Semyon or another official would have been there

on their post to give the explanation for the less than 50% discount

at forehand and during the official announcement, it would have received a lot less

negative response in total on the Forum.

You would have even seen more Tankers defending it, which happened after the damage was

already done.

 

Now we got an official explanation of Semyon when the whole Tanker 's Day topic was

already far past the boiling point: a bit too late if you ask me...

TO is planning to improve communication with us players and I for one applaud that!

 

It should receive praise if a writer like you tries to make to make the reader

understand how and why certain things like TO 's ecomy work, but not with

this very negative approach.

Than IMO you are just shutting down the positive communication that a more

objective article could have started.

Dear Stratus, you are a staff member and you get paid for your job. We, the poor tankers, a.k.a the peasants do not. Many of us, including me, don't play very often, and thus we have great difficulty in earning crystals. Please try to understand

I know how that feels. My aunt Luna made me a banana split a few days ago, and she only put ONE cherry on top! The nerve of that alicorn! I was expecting TWO cherries! The 10% wasn't what angered people, it's the fact that players and staff alike all knew there was going to be a 50% off sale, everybody was saying it. But when it was revealed there was going to be a 40% off sale, everybody was shocked, and mad.

and you, it was one person, only one(as far as i know) so don't go all "but all of the devs lied to us" route, cause they didn't, if you had done your research, asked one more person, double checked, or had a crystal ball, you could have found out that the games economy was struggling, and that the 50% discount on the most useless items in tanki(railgun and hornet) may have pushed that over the edge

So lets say that Luna did tell me there would be two cherries on the banana split! Then she went to get the two cherries from the jar and, lo and behold, she discovers that there is only one cherry left in the jar! EGADS!

 

Is she an inherently wicked and vile individual because she told me something would happen, but forces beyond her control made it impossible? Is she evil because of something she cannot change?

Do you honestly think that the person you referred to rubbed his hands together and, with spiteful glee in his voice, said to himself "How can I be an antagonist? I know! I'll lie that the tankers will get 50% off when I know that they will only get 40% off! BWAHAHAHA!"

 

I contend that, if it were possible to do so without torching the economy, the devs would've loved to have surprised you all with a 60% off sale! The people in charge did not lie to you. They intended to give a 50% sale, but the constantly changing economic situation rendered that impossible.

What I ask you to do is to try to understand that it's a lot more complicated then it looks. It about constant balance. And 40% is better than no sale or 25% off.

 

I hope some of you are grateful for the celebrations. This would really give us a boost to keep working for you.

The man has made an accusation of inequality yet he fails to provide any evidence that it is true. What do you mean, "You're supposed to be the reporter here"? How am I to provide proof of his allegation when a.) it is not true and b.) I don't know where he got the information upon which he based the allegation?

 

Not that he had anything to base it on....
