Tankers! The Poetry Quest has finally reached its end. We got a single-digit number of entries before I released the clue, but a lot, lot more than that after I did so. Good job, guys! The spirit of participation is much more satisfactory than the feeling of winning. And believe me, you guys did not make my job of judging easy, there were so many good entries!

This contest showed who exactly you were - some good at poetry, some good at questing, and of course, some good at both! But, I know you're reading this topic only to see the best entries of the fortnight, and without delay, let me proceed to the felicitation ceremony!

In 1st place, winning a prize of 40 000 crystals thanks to a superbly structured poem, generating an intense atmosphere right from the first word and keeping the reader hanging on till the end, is -

@Spit_Fyre

Like moths drawn to a point of light,
Daredevils to the doom pit flock.
High tension lines the periphery;
Air crackles at every tick o’the clock.

Mults, gangsters, noobs – one and all:
Wanton allies in frenzied battle waves,
Jostle to touch the treacherous pedestal,
That shines a beacon, beguiling braves.

Wasps, hornets shriek in terror;
Dictator (vi)Kings lay claim to the land;
This Titanic war commands Mammoth forces,
To break the enemy and make a stand.

Lo and behold, as all hell breaks loose –
A shrill siren stages a hysteric twist;
Hordes amass the Polygon pyre as
A golden memento descends amidst.

In 2nd place, winning a prize of 20 000 crystals for a superb expression of the given keyword, using the subtlest of hints to divert the topic to his own convenience, yet retain the essence of the topic, is -

@Nick_Lee

Knife through my heart, I suddenly felt
Everywhere, shattered tanks and dreams before him
Years of torture, in its square I melt
Who shall be its next victim?

Over its land, the enemies swamed
Ruining the city, the buildings were scorched
Dropping of the gold box, everyone stormed
Perfectly centered, the single light torched

Outrage prevailed, it’s now time to raid
Legions of tanks, securing the light
Years of flickering and changing of shade
Goodness has failed, it’s time to fight

Oh the name of this land inspires much fear
None have not experienced rage nor addiction here
Cycles of dying and respawning causes much grief
Please pardon my description, for being so brief.

And, in 3rd place, winning 10 000 crystals for a frightfully precise, accurate and bang on-topic narration of the events within a Polygon CP is -

@NicoleParker

On the land of crystallized meteors many hearts race,
Bellicose souls reach for the point amidst the field ablaze.
Unyielding spirits spread their wings and fly,
The sole triumphant Valkyrie atop the pyramid claims the radiant eye.
Grandiose Wagner symphonies of war echoes through every atom in the sky.
Underneath the pleasantly fierce mirage,
Lies the resonance of corrupted values and sabotage.
Honor and teamwork form the true gold;
The golden joy of Polygon CP never gets old;
Mountains of breathtaking records of wars to be told.

And, the valiant fighters who made poems of quality, but just missed out among a spot in the Top 3, winning 5 000 crystals, are -

Smoke from the guns fills the sky,
These dark clouds leave their mark
And fill the lungs of our engines.
The vigilant railgun silently fires
Towards the frenzied mob,
Demolishes many a mercenaries.
The Vulcan hurries to the battlefield
As the barrel starts to rotate,
Ready to shed its shower of bullets
On the destitute, yet fearless combatants.

Nevertheless, I was the lion on the battlefield.
Showing a valiant feat of tactics, I lead my team towards victory.
The opposition was fierce; we were the disciples of Hercules.

With a splendid teamwork, we did it.
I smiled proudly at my foes, "Another one, mates?"
That was a Polygon CP to be remembered.

@celroti

The darkest night of the year
Sixteen gossamer in the polygon
Where flame dries every drop of tear
with the intense heat of cauldron.

Two nations hurled into the furnace
in the merciless thirsty confrontation
Resemble the complacency and forbearance
Everywhere perilous TNT and destruction

Phoenix and Zeus, scrutinizing the clash
Destiny engraved on the forehead
Yet so many were consumed unto ash
Time changes and the greatness fade

Now the Polygon is burning in the blaze
Nothing persists neither sage nor rage

@Flexoo

Naive child, still ignorant of Polygon world,
cheerfully tasting first impressions,
at once swimming in the eddy of CP war.
To conquer the rival, he must fall sacrifice.
Is said he has to destroy, it must happen,
he shivers with fear, afraid of own weapons,
the battle is burning with dusk and shadows,
it´s the day of storm, bolts and eruptive pavor.
His despair awakens,
pilfering life of all moving,
being in a hurry to front line,
ere this he feels caress of firing.
Glint of gun wetted him with cold creeps,
he falls down at point destroyed by icy lead,
beside him brothers grasped by mors,
they lie on the torsos of heroic pennons.

However, the actual heroes of this quest were the guys who got the keyword correct - that's one bright set of tankers! And we don't want you to feel cheated of the prize because of your lack of skill/interest in poetry, and therefore I would like to congratulate the brainy tankers who solved the clue by themselves - @BuriedSky, @BlueDragon_tamki, @deafeat1 and @sudeeprauta! The future of What's the Password looks bright for you.

Now, as all of you know, the keyword is Polygon CP. A lot of people have asked me how I got this, and therefore, as your dutiful reporter, I hereby attach the walkthrough of the quest here -

Go to Step 1 here

Okay, so if you read the clue carefully, you would surely have registered the words, 'Guess,' 'Alien,' '481' and '25th' in your mind. Applying some Tanki logic, you can deduce that the next clue is located in the topic 'Guess the Paint' (because Alien is a paint, see?) in the Forum Games section. The numbers were a vital clue - using them, go to post #481 which is located in the 25th page. That post is made by @Vikingsrallentando and was edited for this contest, it goes something like this -

Next person will like Alien.
It's daaaamn protective - look it up in detail, and then, discuss the way it nullifies the statistics!

Go to Step 2 here

So, the post I revealed to you in Step 1 was edited on the sixteenth of August 2015, which tells that something is fishy. Apply some more logical and cryptic thinking, and you can guess that it is something to do with protection. Now, most of you will no this (and this was an extra step for those who didn't btw), 'daaamn' protective refers to Alien's highest protection - plain logic. So 'look it up' was the extra step here, where after understanding the clue, you head over and check Alien's Tankiwiki page. There, you see that it protects maximum from Isida.

Now, many of you missed this vital word - 'discuss'. Armed with the knowledge that Alien offers maximum protection to Isida, the only logical explanation is for you to go to the topic 'Let's Discuss Isida'. Now, you could be wondering, where next? You're forgetting that I dropped another clue in the post of Guess the Paint - 'statistics'. On the first page, if you aim your mouse around, you will see that the word 'Statistics' is hyperlinked.

Go to Step 3 here

Following the hyperlink, you are led here - a jigsaw puzzle titled 'you're almost there, tankers!'. Upon solving it, you can see an image of @mcmonkey25 ranking up to Commander. However, the next clue was not in the content, it was around it. Scanning the picture carefully, you'll see that I added a small link in the bottom right corner of the page - and it reads this - http://imgur.com/6YVQrZU (Actually, this was a waste of time. You could have seen the link even without solving the puzzle - it was completely on one piece). Typing the link into a new tab, you are led to a pic in Imgur (obviously).

Go to Step 4 here

Now, the picture which you have opened reads thus - 'CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR CLUE HAS NOW TAKEN SHAPE. YOU HAVE GOT ONE POINT!'

Many people, thinking that this was the final clue, simply gave up. But again, tankers, you're forgetting the power of cryptic thinking. Applying Tanki logic and logical thinking, you focus on the words 'take shape' and 'one point'. Now, what in Tanki is related to a shape and has got one point? Polygon is a shape, and one point - that was obvious. Which leds us to the keyword....... you got it - Polygon CP.

That's it from this contest, tankers! Hope you enjoyed it, and if you people show higher turnouts of the quest-solving procedure, this contest will make a comeback. Till then, enjoy the crystals, winners, and revel in the spirit of participation, the others! See you on the battelfield!

WoW! Omg! Thanks a ton judges! Congrats all winners! As someone who loves poetry (and enjoys reading it) I'll say this aloud - I really liked Nicole's poem, I think it's beautiful.

I don't want to sound like an over the top goody-goody, but since I think it's kinda cruel to not give any prizes to the players who solved the quest part of this contest - namely, BuriedSky, BlueDragon_tamki, deafeat1 and sudeeprauta - if the contest sponsors are okay with it, I don't mind if you cut down my crystal reward to 30,000 and distribute the 10,000 as consolations... Just being fair, since I'd have never gotten to the keyword the way I saw it and participation should be encouraged.

This contest was excellent. Even though I went on the wrong track with the first clue, (I didn't know there had ever been a paint guessing contest) the way the steps were hidden was ingenious. Congratulations to all winners; my poem was nowhere near their standards.

Thanks for this contest,

Bluebird13.

P.S.

Congrats to Spit_Fyre on coming first and being a really good sport. I agree on the fact that they maybe should have received consolation prizes.

I highly appreciate what you're doing here, and this is exactly the spirit we are looking for in contest participants. Yes, I was considering giving a consolation to those who solved the clue, but remember, in the topic, I specified that there was no weightage for getting the keyword correct, it was a test of how you can compose a poem in the face of the unknown.

You thoroughly deserve that prize, and now I see that you thoroughly deserve to keep it, too. But, it's not about finding the keyword - that's why I released it to the public.

However, I am making a note to introduce prizes for solving the keyword to increase participation, but mind, I won't be releasing the keyword this time around - the first contest was just an easier one to get yourself acquainted.

Meanwhile, enjoy your crystals, and once again, I appreciate your sportsman spirit!

Thank you very much for your compliment. :) I am glad you like my poem. Perhaps we can be poetry buddies? :P

Likewise, your poem is very magnetizing all the way through. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My poem was no match for your intensity. You are the rightful gold medalist.

! would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners and honorable mentions in this contest.

Last but not least, I I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to TriNitroToulene for hosting this wonderful event!

Wow, sportsman spirit is becoming common.

And I'd like to thank you tankers for clamouring for more interesting contests - without that, this contest would never have been born!
