How about having a speedo guage on the display - it shouldn't be too difficult to impliment.

 

And before this idea is flamed - I know it's small and won't have a massive impact on gameplay.  But it would be cool to have.  And you would be able to quantify the speed/power micro upgrades.

But that would not look good on the screen as it's not meant for racing. But on the contrary it will help in parkour by letting us know how much run up we need to achieve max. speed. I Think it would be a nice feature if it didn't harm the screen and had a separate key for it like pressing tab shows the battle stats.

Tanki Online is not a racing game. The developers are trying to keep the UI in game as simple as possible, keeping only the most essential information always available. The exact current speed of your tank is something very few players actually care about, therefore having a speedometer on the screen will simply be a waste of space.
