does anyone know what it is?

A press kit is usually a pack of files/archives that contains:

- logo/visual identity

- brand-book of the issuer (rules imposed by the logo/brand owner on how to use and promote his identity on published materials on different media supports/tv/radio/web)

- hi-res images DTP ready (300dpi, CMYK and so on)

- vector materials in various file formats (key visuals, logos, campaign related promos -> all in vector format so that they can be rescaled without quality loss)

Usual file formats: Adobe Illustrator, EPS, Corel Draw, PhotoShop, Freehand, QuarkXPress, PDF, SVG .and so on

- brand-book fonts (fonts used in the visual identity of the brand issuer)

- other brand related stuff.

These press kits are used by any any mass media, TV, internet representatives. For example, let's say that a newspaper reporter wants to write an article about tankionline. for raw materials that he needs, he just goes to the press kit section of the site for the pictures, logos and other stuff.
