Greetings, and welcome to the latest Top Ten update made for your reading pleasure. Now, Tanki's best feature is obviously the action packed multiplayer, in which you square off against actual players from all over the world. But, it wouldn't be near as entertaining without the quality maps the developers put in the game. Here we're taking a look at the best maps based on gameplay, looks and originality. So, let's not waste any more time, because these are the Top Ten Tanki Best Maps!

10. Osa

DT6ltVi.jpg

We're kicking off the list with Osa. Now, some of you may have never even played on this map, but I assure you it's one quality map. It's exactly what a Tanki map should be - a battlefield. With a lot of rustic buildings and damaged walls, the map creates a great atmosphere for a war game. The well placed bushes and green grass make for a calming visual, so you won't find that many flaws in the maps aesthetics. The map also doesn't disappoint in gameplay. With a lot of props and different routes you can take, you can go from being a camper sniping enemies to a charging Firebird taking the enemy flag. The only thing this map needs is simply more people who are playing it.

9. Rio

5Tfr461.jpg

Ah, Rio. The skyscraper, the beach and its famous statue in the background. The map is regarded by many as one of the best looking maps in the game, and you can't really disagree too much about that. The beach is widely used for photoshoots, the roads are filled with tanks battling it out with each other, while the skyscraper is a common goal for parkour lovers. With this diverse use Rio is quite a well made map, although I do think the gameplay here feels cramped at times - specially with so many buildings and different heights stacked in the center.

8. Bobruisk

nzhzAqE.jpg

I must admit, even though I don't play this map too often it's a great source of fun for drugging. Sadly, one of the reasons I don't play it is because it's not that common, but whenever I find an active battle in this map I make sure to join in. It has quite a few routes you can take in attacking, while giving a decent amount of cover for defenders behind walls and buildings. Even so, all those props are placed in such a way that keep the look of the map pretty decent. It also holds a special place for me because this is where I caught my first ever Goldbox. I'm really hoping this map will get a bit more popularity in time.

7. Siege

e1YMHS1.jpg

Siege is another rare map that you probably won't see often on the servers. It's a shame because the map is actually pretty fun to play with a group of friends. The maps attraction is a sort of hill based terrain with altitudes in the center area. However, for those who prefer flanking the enemies, there are ramps on the side of the map, too. I've played XP in this map a few times and it kind of reminds me of those EN community Canyon CTF games. There's just that community feel to it and the only thing that has to happen is for this map to become more popular.

6. Iran

eMiHwij.jpg

Now this map is great, because it's unique. It also gives off a type of "village" feel to it, but unlike Dusseldorf its size isn't confusingly large. The houses bring out the desert environment and the whole map has those small diverse details that bring out its aesthetics (like the flag in the center and the blue paint on the mosque for example). Additionally the map is huge fun for drug wars and offers a wide choice of flanking opportunities. You can attack from the ground, jump from buildings or be sneaky and take the tunnel. It's completely your choice, so pick one that's most fun for you!

5. Sandal

S0lvpPe.jpg

Next up we have Sandal, a map that's a bit smaller, but still gives a highly dynamic gameplay. Low distance between the flags means a lot of action between the two bases, and the two side roads need to constantly be controlled to avoid a surprise flanking attack. Most of the time the center path will be tough to move through, so you'll depend on teammates to distract enemies from the sides. I've also found that Thunder and maybe Ricochet work great in this map due to the houses sitting next to the cover - great chance for splash damage from above, or a ricochet from the side. Get a group of friends and play a 15 flag XP game for example, you really won't regret it!

4. Barda

JNI7S1f.jpg

At number four we have Barda, a favorite among Esports players. It got its fame for being asymmetrical, but at the same time fair for both sides. With the ever so high popularity of XP games, you'll never have trouble finding this map on the servers. Combine that with a group of twelve skilled players split into two teams and you have yourself a recipe for a great battle. Best thing you can do here is to pay attention to those two bridges - a long range Railgun shot to those bridges can devastate an unsuspecting opponent. Barda is truly a map that you can play anytime and have a dynamic and intense battle, along with a pretty decent visual environment.

3. Silence

4jAeEAM.jpg

This is probably the most famous and nostalgic map in the game. With its varieties such as Moon Silence, Silence I and Silence II, it was the most common map back in the day. However, as updates happened all those maps came down to just Silence. Still, it holds a special place in the memories of all tankers as a sort of Tanki symbol. But, Silence still hasn't lost its fun. Being a map with diverse altitudes, tunnels, ramps it's a great choice for both a no supply and drug war game, while being one of the most popular parkour places. The popular cliff in the blue base is the most popular escape route too, so I'd suggest you to keep it guarded with a mine or otherwise. Even if it's not the best looking map or suited for XP, it easily scores a top three placement in this list.

2. Red Alert

X7n7eV4.jpg

Red Alert is another Esports map of choice. Due to its relatively smaller size, but well defended bases, it provides a large amount of dynamic gameplay. Interesting in pretty much any gamemode - ranging from an all out drug war to a tactical light format game. The aesthetics of the map are well designed, giving you stunning visuals and a wide range of attack, but not too much so that you forget about fighting. It has a decent amount of drop locations, but only one health pack, so it's important to keep track of it if you're aiming for a successful attack. I personally prefer attacking with wasp from the sides of the map or, if I'm using a tougher hull, picking up a repair kit on my way back to the base after I've taken the enemy flag. Also, try not to forget about supplies at the corners of the map, every single bit counts. If you've been living in the Tanki caves and have never tried the map, do yourself a favor and try it out right now!

1. Tribute

vjMWr3Z.jpg

And at the number one spot we have Tribute. Now, I know that the red and blue sides might be a bit unbalanced in the favor of the blue side, but that's not that much of a problem. In fact, I see it as a good thing - nothing like fighting against all odds to brighten your Tanki morning. Seriously, give yourself a challenge from time to time. If it really bugs you, get some friends and play two rounds in a row to see who's top tanker in this wonderful map. Constantly shifting attacks, different escape routes, sneaking behind the enemy base - this map fulfills its maximum potential in creating a dynamic and entertaining battle. I can't tell you how many last second captures and returns I've experienced in this map, it's just that good. With all that, it manages to look stunning! With buildings placed just at the right places and bridges connecting different heights, it really does make the map look incredibly stable and pleasing. This map is my recommendation to everyone and anyone who wants an intense game in XP or any other game mode!

There you have it! Those are my top ten picks for the best maps in Tanki. What are your favorite maps? Which modes do you play most in them? Do you have any maps you'd like to suggest? After all, Tanki is full of great maps that might still be uncharted. So, share your opinion and leave your suggestions below!
