They could very easily revert the update until they fix it but they won't. They would much rather have everyone suffer. Maybe this being done on purpose so they can say " Look how much better Unity is. Come play the new Tanki."  Sabotaging the flash version to make Unity look even better sounds like something they would consider.

Sorry Canadian, but this is simply absurd. There's not the slightest chance that any game developer in their right mind would sabotage their own game to promote their new game... especially considering that the new game isn't even close to being released yet! Neither is there any chance at all that Tanki is purposefully incurring this flood of complaints and negativity.

And why the sidehanded remark at the Tanki staff that this "sounds like something they would consider"? It makes sense that you're frustrated with the recent lag issues (aren't we all?), but the TO staff does an incredible job making the game engaging and the community lively, and it hurts me to see remarks like these thrown out at them.

Why so harsh? 3-4 days is an incredibly small time frame... lag is a very complex problem involving both hardware (game servers) and software (game design). You can't reasonably expect the Tanki team to identify and fix these issues so quickly. They're human, too!

Semyon has announced that an update that will fix the lag is coming up. Hang in there ;)

Opinions vary.

To be clear the lag wasn't that big an issue for me personally, however what I did have an issue with was the fact that 5 days went by without any acknowledgement from the devs at all. I understand they need time to fix it but that doesn't change the fact they could have taken 5 minutes to make some sort of statement. Don't you think we deserve that?

Is there the slightest chance that they would sabotage Flash Tanki for some reason?

If I owned TO Flash and wanted to minimise the amount of game currency I would have to expend when transferring the value of current players garages to the Unity version, I would first devise a cunning plan to keep that minimal for reasons that should be obvious.  I'd probably define 'current players' as any player that has spent on average 10 hours a week playing the game over the last 6 months. Any players that don't meet this criteria will lose everything.  With that goal in mind, which by no coincidence will be made public as late as possible, I would then deliberately set out to try and get players to reduce their game time or leave the game entirely by any means possible.

I'm not saying this is how it's going to be, merely stating a fictional business plan if an evil version of me owned this game.

Nothing is absurd in the world of business when large sums of money are involved. Nothing!

Every developer has million$ of reasons to sabotage an old product to force people into a new one. To assume they are some kind benevolent entity that would put users first ahead of profits is absurd.
