Very high ping on Winndows 10

Hi 

Lately I've been getting very high pings and changes in FPS, I did notice slight changes in my ping after upgrading to Windows 10, but they weren't something to worry about. Nowadays I get pings ranging from 20 and then going to 444+ for a few seconds to minutes.


This is my internet speed, did a speed test with Wifi to a site of my internet provider.


I don't think my internet is the problem here?

Before windows 10, I used to play with Windows 8.1 and I had pings of 10-20 every time, even when I had many tabs opened at the same time and I was downloading stuff, I also had 60 FPS with full graphics enabled(except for deep shadows, they cut your FPS in half :x)...

So I was just thinking, does my upgrade to Windows 10 have something to do with this?

they are... but they are working on a massive project called "TO unity" and several updates to this present tanki. think about them too... they are humans, not machines

I'd say that the problem is not in your computer - internet speed. Lately, servers are lagging a lot. Let's hope that developers are going to fix this problem very soon. :)

From what I've heard, it seems to be pretty good. Supposedly faster than previous versions, better UI than 8, and some cool features. Some people are concerned about possible privacy issues- the OS likes to send data to Microsoft. There are workarounds, but I think this is a bit of a hassle, so I'm not upgrading until some time next year, when I have more time.

Back on topic: this doesn't sound like an issue with Windows 10. Ping is determined by your internet speed and also how well Tanki's servers are doing. They seem to be pretty laggy recently, so if your internet is OK, it's the server's problem. I can't speak for the FPS changes (which depends on how well your computer can handle things), but Windows 10 is supposed to be faster and more efficient than previous versions.

Well okay then guys thanks, so it's the TO servers that  are laggy. But what about my FPS? My graphics drivers are up to date, so I don't really know the reason for that...

btw klankill, the privacy on WN10 isn't really an issue unless you've got really "sensitive" info about you on your PC that you don't want Windows to know about...

the FPS may be ur cache, and i think ping sometimes affects ur FPS too as the PC has to process all that data

i recommend u get ur PC checked out if u think there may be some probs in ur PC

You can help solving the lag issue in Details about the lag, well, not the lag itself, but the cause of the lag. As for your FPS, How do I raise my FPS? might help you. You can try the possible solutions in the following topics:
