Didnt play Tanki in the last week.

Today 60 FPS and 25 ping, no lags for me. Sometimes, ping goes to 35-45 for a few seconds.

My laptop has an i7 and windows 10, but there is still lag. And with every gold, my ping gets 999 so it always falls through me :(

In specific servers sometimes I experience lag. On Sunday in RU3, I had 11 ping and asked the rest if it was me laggy or the server, they said it was the server.

Then yesterday, it was during parkour in RU1, ping was still 11-50, but still lagged.

Hello,

Many times when on the map I can drive around but players are not moving. Feels like wax museum! During that time I cannot destroy any tank no matter what! Also cant pick up supplies or a flag. After maybe 1-2 minutes everything starts to move very fast like in fast forward mode and all the sudden I learn that i destroyed some players and I was destroyed.

Spooky time I am telling you.

Cheers

Well developments...login, play 30 minutes to an hour and see what's wrong. You all have accounts for playing TO. We do not have to do your job.

We know that you are working on Unity version, but do not put Flash version at junkyard.

lag disease is spreading everywhere OMG

suddenly, the tanks start running towards the wall and spinning on same place like mad, and simply, itr jerks back. when "gold box will be dropped soon" no need to say, my PING goes to 999, and stays at 200-700. my normal PING= 50-200

Well developers don't have time for playing, their job is to PROGRAM, not PLAYING computer games. And if they asked kindly, we shall help, shalln't we? Their are doing their best but they are very focusing to Unity, because lots of players expect that CBT (Close Beta Testing) will apply soon. They don't want to dissappoint us. They need feedback like in any other game. And I am sure that we will help them!! :)

And also if they will play of their own, they won't get much information. They need to get them from whole world. America, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, New Zealand, ...

Describing the issue from my POV:

The game shows a general increase of ping ranging abnormally between 50-200 with a stable internet connection. There are also frequent lag spikes whitin 3-5 minutes from each other. the game totally stops and no information is received from the server for around 20 seconds, then everything synces back in little to no time. appears frequently during battle finish and gold box event. the issue showed only during the last week and appeared from nothing.

-Playing from Catania, Sicily, Italy.

-ISP is telecom, but the issue is in common with other internet services such as mobile data and my relatives and friends internet such as fastweb and infostrada.

-Using router, both LAN and Wireless connections.

-Using an high-end desktop pc, and i never experienced fps-related lag.

Honestly, during the last year tanki online showed a much-less stable connection in relation to the other years.

is not my job, but i'm suggesting a little clean up and optimization on the dedicated server software, and a check up one the host of the servers and the hardware itself.

When i played for the first time on tanki the game was running smooth and good but now after these months of updates tanki has been going downhill very fast its not just the loading and lag complaints but also the ammount of bugs in tanki is too much. Lots of brownscreens and class errors everywhere i mean cmon tanki cant you fix anything it is your game after all especially since you caused these bugs to happen in the first place maybe you should take a step back and find the problem that occured over the past few months.

I am a mature Tanker with 17 years experience working in the computer and network support industry.

I have 2 years experience playing Tanki. I have several accounts at various ranks and play nearly all servers.

Over the years, I have eliminated as many performance bottle necks as possible and am very familiar with any local issues I may have. My computer has not been a problem since my 2nd month of playing.. My ISP is an ongoing collection of issues, but is fairly predictable.

I start each day's battle session with a fresh router reboot and then test performance with network tools and real world observation, such as Youtube video streaming performance.

My gaming computer is set up with a dual boot which is finely honed to run Tanki using an optimized (stripped down) install of XP. This install does not load any any type of auxiliary programs or security software. The total ram usage is 186MB of ram after boot.

  • Dell Prescision 670
  • Dual 3.2Ghz Xenon processors 4mb cache each
  • 2GB ram
  • Nvidia Geforce GT 620 graphics adapter
  • Wired network connection
  • Well maintained: temporary files are dumped weekly, partitions defragmented bi-monthly

  • Adobe standalone flash player 18 with caching set to "unlimited" ( I do not use any web browser, ever)

  • AT&T 1.5Mbp DSL.
usually tests at 1.2Mps - but this is an inaccurate real-life measurment
as AT&T developed and uses "Intelligent Throttling" to thwart abuse..
raw file download speeds are often capped at 175Kbs)
  • Located in the US

I frequently enjoy Tanki at 45-60 FPS with 60-75ms pings.

Average performance is typically around 25-45 FPS with 70-115ms pings,

and of course there are those bad days of 12-25 FPS and 100-300ms pings

** However as of Tuesday, September 29, My gaming experience has been untenable. **

I feel that to label these new experiences as "Lag" is a inaccurate.

"Server Service Interruption" is a far better description of what we have observed over the last week.

I often play with buddy who is located near me, but has a different ISP. We battle using voice chat (Mumble) and these service interruptions happen to both of us at the same time.

This illuminates at least a regional problem, if not a global service issue.

  • What we observe when the interruptions occur:

  • All players experience the interruption at the same time
  • All tanks stop, (except my tank)
  • All turrets rotate
  • I can not destroy or push any tanks
  • I can not pick up any assets (Flags or supplies)
  • Flags are often dropped if they were being taken before the service interruption.
  • Lasts from 15 seconds to over 1 minute
  • often occurs 4 to 5 times in a 15 minute battle

I believe and accept that lag is inherent in Tanki and that it is nearly impossible to have 100% laggless battles.

Personally I am amazed that Tanki works at all, as it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to sync data streams to and from 20 globally distributed Flash clients running on a wide variety of hardware, operating systems and ISP's.

"Lag" would be better used to describe typical poor game performance due to individuals' performance issues. Like anyone else, when my (or other players') ISP or computer is misbehaving, I typically experience lag issues as :

  • Typical episodic / intermittent lag:
tanks move strangely, "moving rapidly back and forth and/or up and down
  • Can be destroyed by rails or shafts when safely behind buildings
  • Observe Isida's running around with "cotton mouth" unable to heal or damage
  • Slow interface load
  • Slow battle load
  • Failed battle loads
  • Battle loads with initial high pings / low FPS but improves over time
  • Battle loads initial partial participation:
I can not kill or pick up assets, but can be killed.
As soon as I destruct or am killed, I usually have normal game play.

What we are experiencing is interruption of data flow from the server.. much worse than lag.

Was there an update that introduced a bug? I certainly don't know.. I would think that the frequency and severity of these service interruptions would be fairly easy to illuminate, troubleshoot, and resolve.

I could easily suspect that these service interruptions could be indicative of larger problems than server glitches.. such as the results from DDoS (Distributed Denial of service) attacks affecting various ISPs, global internet backbone routers, the hosting facility.. or even hosting facility problems in general.

Over the years I have utilized network analysis tools (AnalyzePath & Path Analyzer Pro) to help troubleshoot my historic ISP problems. However I am surprised that my testing consistently reveals that the longest response times of all hops involved in my typical path to the Tanki servers are not in my ISP's immediate network, rather located inside Leaseweb.net (The hosting facility in Amsterdam from which Tanki leases their servers.)

Though not alarming, as this could be indicative of network security features such as anti-DDoS packet inspection behind the gateway, I still find it odd that the slowest response times of my global network path to Tanki are  typically 3 hops before my traffic reaches the game server.

Good luck figuring this out.

peace

I think there is a Bandwidth Throttling or Traffic Shaping on Tanki Online Servers

What is Bandwidth Throttling ?

Bandwidth throttling is the intentional slowing of Internet service by an Internet service provider  .

==> So This is what makes the connection between the server and the player very weak

I don't know when the lag started, but I can tell that all players are getting affected by this massively large lag. All turrets start to rotate, their weapons keep firing (if they were firing). When lag strikes, the battle turns into HELL! Players are even mising the Gold Box chance due to this HELL like lag. Please fix it. I have over 50 mps speed and Intel Core 2 processor and a weak graphics card. My fps might be low, but lags cannot happen to me as I have a very high speed. Please see to this. Tanki is turning into HELL!

So I have come across this lag issue like many others on here. I would say that it happens 2-3 times in a 15 minute battle. I'm on a Macbook Pro 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 with 16GB of RAM. I've used wired, wireless, and a hotspot from my phone and see this issue on all three.

Another problem that I have seen during this last week is that as soon as I go into a battle, my laptop starts heating up and the fans have to crank up to 6k RPM to compensate. This happens with Safari and Chrome. As soon as I drop out of the battle, temps go down and so do the fan RPMs.

I have not made any changes to my setup in the last year so I can't think that it is something on my laptop. Has anyone else reported anything similar?
