Animation for turrets' vertical aiming

Recommended Posts

Autoaim has to be instant, becuase as a player I know what I like to hit, and move my hull/combo in the way, that it works.

If you have to wait for an animation, you can forget things like "drive back out from a cover, brake hard to tilt Wasps nose up and shot the guy up on the bridge". in M3/M4 battles with skilled players, those moves have to be timed so well, that there cant be half a second wasted for an animation, that comes before the shot is released.

and think of Smoky or Thunder, that rely on shoting instantly.

additionally it would help long range aiming.. you are very very far away, behind a bush, cant even see your target clear.

but you rotate your turret slowly.. and once the auto-aim animation kicks in, you just hit the trigger - because you know, you will now hit something.

I like the principle of your idea.. but I fear the drawbacks are too tough. I have no idea to overcome them.. do you have one?

Ok then maybe 0.25 sec auto-aim but it could still shoot in dirrection before auto aim reaches it but auto-aim time is so short so noone would notice it

Auto aim doesnt start to aim after u press space

Everyone hates campers so no big deal :)

That might work, but would you really want that? It would make shooting a lot more difficult.

That would be a big improvement.  Auto aim compensates far to much vertically as well as horizontally.  Shaft is the only weapon except in arcade mode that has ot aim at anything.  Even the slightest discrepancy and its a miss.

It all depends on what you're trying to shoot. If you're trying to shoot a wall, the turret will shoot straight (unless you lean back or forwards), and if you're trying to shoot an enemy, if it's within the certain amount of radius, the turret will automatically shoot aim for it.

Sorry for my horrible way of explaining...

So, after saying this, I don't really think this would be useful, if anything, it'd be more distracting... Sorry.

Sorry, I don't like the idea too much.

you need that second o on to.

You know, after seeing the latest V-log and details of the Artillery gun, this idea may actually be implemented. Although vertical aiming is kind of a unique feature that's only present in Artillery now, so maybe not.

But extra visual animations are possible.

That's cool. A free aim-indicator, if I am on an elevation.

then I just sweap my Railgun slowly from left to right, and when the vertical aiming animation kicks in, I know there is a Shaft behind those bushes, and I push the trigger.

Or with Smoky I just point it roughly towards the enemy and when the vertical aiming animation kicks in, I push the trigger.

Sorry for the irony, but plsease find above the reason why I am against this feature.
