Change in forum feedback mechanism

They didn't do it because of that. Didn't you even read? -_- If someone dislikes something, they have to actually talk about it and give constructive criticism, not just downvote the page and go "NOOOOBBB UPDATE CHANGE IT BACK THIS IS HORRIBLE NOOB SEMYON, GREEDY TANKI I QUIT"

Very correct. An internet bully's favorite thing to do is scream and complain, and he does it without any reason. He just does it to hear himself do it and laugh at everytanki who tries to reason with him.

This update will force him to explain himself if he's going to criticize, which knocks a lot of the joy out of doing it.

This is a fine move by Tanki to eliminate bullies while still allowing criticism that improves the discussion and allows for greater understanding of what the players want.

This same reasoning should apply to the idea of removing the upvote button as well.  For many of the updates it does not become evident whether it is good or bad until one has played for a time.  I become more annoyed with the score limits (= random ending times) on TDM, CTF, and CP modes every day.  Apparently other people feel the same, but their solution is to go play DMs, which I will not do except when Missions require.

This is so perfect! Oh my gosh, every bully that has ever haunted this site logged in this morning to find that their favorite pastime, downvoting everything, is now impossible. Yet open discussion and the ability to voice one's opinion is still here. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

@TheTitaniumFalcon @canadarules @allthoselowranksthatthinktheyarefunnybydownvotingeverything

I think that the only way this forum could be made better is if it handed you a large plate of blueberry muffins when you log in.

Nah, Doritos bro

Oh, and another thing: no more accidentally downvoting what you wanted to upvote! You can now change your vote!

I want to know the name of the genius at Tankionline's secret lair who came up with this update. I shall mail him/her free muffins for life, any flavor he/she likes.

Not really, but I would if I could get to your planet....

True, and even if a post is not liked by the community, no one is forcing tankers to upvote their posts, you can still leave the Like This button untouched if you don't like whatever is being posted.

pointless downgrade and copy of social medias.

-Players who were putting downvotes and not saying anything now just wont do anything. a downvote was just a way of quickly saying "i'm not liking your ideas". better having a quick opinion than no opinion at all.

-The whole like stuff is just a knock off from the utopic social medias. you just see the positive votes ignoring the potential hundreds of negative ones, altering the public opinion regarding stuff. you might get 50 likes while other 500 were not liking your stuff.

this downgrade is aimed to remove the negative feedback from users altering the public perception of updates. everything will look extra shiny and the negative faces will be hidden.

for example, this post got only 50 likes but probably 300 other tankers would have put a downvote. tankers new to the discussion would see only those 50 guys opinion, who are the minority.

That above is what you say you wanted to "avoid":

Altering the Public Opinion

Quick solving the only issue (prejudices when you see too many downvotes) would just have requied a pool-like system: first you vote, then you see the result. Or ignore the voting and go straight to the result. atleast for the official posts.

It's amazing - one forum update and suddenly the Tanker's Day sale has an amazing 120+ approval rating. It implies the sale had a universal approval.

Because it's retroactive it eliminates all of the negative feedback across the board on every forum - EN, RU, etc. - making it appear the community supports every update and every article.

Well Said.

This is just exercising control. Welcome to the new Panem where there are no Hunger Games, but your mouth has been replaced by a ' just say silent if you disagree' contraption.

Seriously, just say you want to hear only sweet talk about you. Man up and deal with the hate with proper reasoning and apologies instead of running away from it by shutting the door like a coward.

Oh, and btw, you can remove 'em upvotes too. I'd rather have a realistic negative community than a candy covered misleading 'positive' community.

To be honest, I think this update is a great one. Why you ask?

Well, you (the creator), can get to know why someone dislikes your idea/post/topic, and from your (the person who dislikes the post)'s feedback, the creator of the post will try to improve.

That's what I think, anyway... ;)

Lets think deeply what this update was added for.

Semyon is planning a 20 or 30% discount in the next year. He does not want his legendary down-vote record to be broken by himself again. Thereby, he introduced a system where no one can dislike.

Well done!  -_-
