Change in forum feedback mechanism

The old mechanism was wayyyy better. There is fun in liking and disliking. Even when that button is there we can still post and say why we didn't like it, so no point in removing that button. And yes I simply disliked the premium account idea. It takes away the fun altogether, someone willing to spend in game but with no skills will be sitting with high rank and equipments. This is not good for the game. The percentage of skilled players will certainly decrease now. R.I.P. Quality of Online Tanki.

Tanki has produced some awesome update, but sorry, this is not one of them.

Give us back the dislike button so that you know that though 145 players have liked it, more than 200 have disliked the post :D  :D

Don't worry, premium accounts won't affect the economy and game "balance" negatively in any way. Only decent rewards for daily missions do!

So you want us to remove the like button? Any suggestions for a replacement, or you just think reputation is a bad idea?

I suggest to put back the downvote.

As soon as those are introduced my days on this game are over, they are already making the prototype for unity, which looks just like world of tanks, premium accounts will push the gap between buyers and non buyers right over the edge

It's a good idea but you're basically forcing the players to help improving the game. If those who complain and only put a down vote without saying something shouldn't expect improvements. Now or they say it or it stays the same anyway.

In my opinion, this upgrade was needed because there were only a few who actually expressed their opinion.

I suggest to put back the downvote.

They won't add a dislike button because it could lead to players attacking other players, and it is far more constructive for the other players to explain in a post why they disagree, rather than just clicking a dislike button.

That's what I said in my first post ...

See ?

Many players don't like this update . Does tanki care ?  "We want to listen you" Really, I don't see that !

From now on, Tanki can release  any update, without having downvotes, or a negetive feedback.   ( Tanki doesn't care from posts )  .

Moreover, Tanki will have a couple of "likes" for every update .

If tanki want to "listen us" we should have a downvote buttom.

Tanki Is Going Down Hill And Faster Than Ever ...

I think that tanki forgot that we spent money, ( Buying crystals) ...

Many players don't like this update

Yes they do. When early screenshots of the next version of the forum software were released on the forum, a very significant number of the posts in that thread were expressing concerns about such a feature being implemented. The decision was not made solely because I think it's a bad idea - it's been discussed several times on multiple levels, and the conclusion has always been that we will stick with only positive reputation.

Can't there be two separate buttons for like and dislike? Its much easier to distinguish the two rather than scroll through a a list of comments to see who disagrees, that's paranoid

Goddammit. Now you go through every goddamn page TO CHECK THE DOWNVOTES..... really?

If this 'post' was directed to me i didn't go through all the pages checking the downvotes , i was simply checking that forum and i noticed they still had the option to downvote etc

Next time ask a question before making assumptions okay? okay.

Firstly realise for whom it was meant before making assumptions on assumptions okay?

Reputation: The estimation in which a person or thing is held, especially by the community

or the public in general.

By definition, it is not possible to establish a reputation with only positive feedback.

Why not make people who "like" a topic explain why also?

Not having a down vote makes any up votes pointless.

A lot of people may disagree, but I'm not sure how we will know. lol

No. As I said, that may lead to people harassing other people, and it will lead to people clicking dislike and not explaining why they did so, which doesn't help the OP at all.

Might as well get into this conversation since I was here browsing the forum.

As with anything Tanki seems to do, it always seems to be the simplest solution to an issue. There are many ways to address this issue, removing the downvote does make the like vote kind of redundant and useless as an information tool, I can see your point reguarding misuse, but that could have easily been addressed by requiring you to quote the post that you wish to downvote in order to place your vote for instance, if malintent is seen, it could simply be removed and player reprimanded.

It's not currently possible to require that players quote the post if they click a reputation button, though even if it was, it would defeat the point of a dislike button - you would have to read the whole thread to get the information that you need anyway.

The purpose of the like button isn't so much as an information tool as it is just a tool to prevent people from just posting "^this" or "+1".

I'll give you a -1 for your reasoning.

The reason the dislike button was removed was simply to place the game in a better light to people at first glance, most people don't read 60 hidden pages of criticisms, they look at the first page and maybe the last page.

When players saw 200-300 + downvotes on a topic, it showed them that there was issues with the subject, they would in turn tend to feel the same way and actually get them to read more and contribute to the conversation as well.

The saying "Out of sight, out of mind", its basic psychology, the downvote was detrimental to the outlook players have about the game.

The reason the dislike button was removed

I have already expressed my reasons for not wanting to have a dislike button, and the consensus within the community and within the moderation/administration team is that a dislike button is a bad idea, whether for those reasons or others.
