Change in forum feedback mechanism

Even some of the people who LIKED this change did not even press the LIKE button on the original post!

This is an insidious and self-serving change. What's next? Ban anyone who doesn't like your updates?

Users have always had to toe the line between constructive criticism and just saying something sucked the mop.

If you really want opinions, replace the LIKE button with this:

(___) I strongly agree with this change

(___) I liked this change

(___) I don't think this change was helpful

(_x_) I think this change was a really bad idea

Then you would get a sense of whether the DISLIKE was "You guys blew it again" or just "I don't like or need any changes like this."

Just a little aside here: I was providing FREE assistance to another site that finally had enough of my criticism of its management. So they restricted me. Lo and behold, 9 months later they were begging for me to come back after they fired their whole paid staff. If I were your staff, I would praise every one of the commenters that tell you the unvarnished truth and vote DISLIKE. Listen to them while you still have a job.

The majority of the community agrees with that decision. (*cough* BS *cough*)

1.  Who's said we have to be democratic?

Would you rather we just become socialist and nobody spends any money here? If you don't respond to the the criticism of your PAYING MEMBERS, you will very soon be on welfare...

There was not such a poll - Devs announcements' topics usually never contain polls. The poll you are referring to was from another topic which was merged into this one - when merging two or more topics into one all the existing polls will be transferred into the final topic, but they usually get removed immediatly after (as it just happened with the poll you are speaking of).

So there was a poll, but you don't like polls, so you merge polls, then there is no poll, and nobody voted, so nobody didn't like it.

That is almost as ridiculous and self-serving as anything Orwell ever thought up. Do staff spend their time coming up with creative ways to stifle dissent and make themselves look good to the untrained eye? REALLY??

A whole article isn't always worth the efforts and I'm not obligated to do so.

No, wait, you are obligated. They just said it. You can't just say you don't like it - you have to explain why, so that they can refute your illogical bias in posts that you will never read.

Or maybe if you make a valid undeniable point, you will get lost on pages of flame wars that nobody wants to read.

I still don't get why there are no downvotes. The forums is not a social device so there's no need to change it so we have to start threads or make replies to express our opinion. I'm pretty sure the 'downvote' was invented for people to quickly express their opinion.

Wow. Censorship to the max. No way that players can easily express their opinions better. Why not remove the like button entirely?

Your "logic" goes to "Like" as well, you don't understand why they like something.

You guys don't even listen to feedback.

GG, this game is over.

Facebook Like button? It's the end of Tanki as we know it!!!

I'm kidding, but I really do think Tanki should do something that Facebook was even considering doing: instead of just plain Like or Dislike, users can select the kind of emotion they feel after reading the post. Basic things like :) :( B)

Well, its part of the forum software. Since downvoting could be considered anti-social, I guess they left it out like Facebook does.

Listen, my dear noob mods who agree with this update. We all know that you are NOT allowed to criticize Tanki updates, for if you do, you will face consequences. So, either do not lie, or do not reply to this topic. Thank you :)

Most of the players DISAGREE with this update, so stop being lieing like kids ok. We know that you are PAID to do this.

This update is mainly a sign that we hurt the TO staff's feelings when we had such a negative response to the Tanker's Day Sale.  They deserved to have their feelings hurt, because while it was not the worst sale ever, it was the most disappointing.  Everybody expected them to match the best discounts of the past, and they only had moderate discounts on some of the things some people want.

I will say here - because there seems to be nowhere else to say it -  that for me the worst update was the "Score Cap for Standard Battles".  I used to like the large team battles, but now they are rarely played because nobody knows how long they will last.  If the game is a CP and one side quits, an 'hour' game with five points can end in eight minutes.  An hour TDM can end in a very short time if both sides fight hard, but if one side quits, the other can end up standing around for forty minutes to collect any crystals, moving about occasionally to avoid being removed for inaction.  This last thing is particularly humorous because after all the failed attempts to cause games to end early when one side has obviously lost, they have now successfully created a game that will only continue to the time limit if one side has been hopelessly crushed.  I used to play six or seven hours a week in the days of 'Daily Gifts'.  Now I complete my missions and stop, which come to about half that.

This reminds me of when BB's would start to criticize something, and a whole bunch of supporters (the production employees) would show up to provide "balanced views" (maybe they had to to keep their jobs). The other laughable example is when a new film, a really crappy one, gets great reviews on IMDB...by the people who made the film. Occasionally they are stupid enough to include details that no mere viewer could know. Or give 4 stars, from user DVanOwen, for a film directed by Ralph Van Owen.

I wish they would announce updates in advance, and give us their reasons, so that we can pick them apart before they start ruining our games. We know none of the junior devs would dare to question the judgment or intelligence of their bosses.

Maybe they should make a voting system in players profiles, that way we can see if players like or dislike a player

I don't care if this topic is against the rules, but I am fed up of those stupid and lame updates the devs are making. I am one of those who wants down-votes back no matter what, are the devs scared that we would make their topics down-rated?

Really?

Or is their some nuts rollin here, or have the devs forgot to shampoo their brains?

or are they using local shampoos? I suggest them to use johnson babies -_-
