RIP downvote button :(

"Like this, unlike this?" Seriously? Now the forum is now just like Facebook

But at least you won't get people making tons of accounts dedicating to only ruin your reptuation by flooding you with down votes anymore.

As MAFIOS0 said in October 14th in this thread ---> http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=289706&p=5069501 (on page one)

" By removing the downvote button players are now forced to explain why they don't like the update in a comment. Leaving a dislike does not help the developers understand what is wrong with a new update."

Oh Heyll No! That is such a terrible idea. How will new Ideas be considered if they only get Liked, they need a reality check! Down-Votes are a good function because it gives people an idea of what they're posting is bad/unappreciated/inappropriate. This is one of the worst Updates Tanki has EVER made!

Pointless IMO.

Get sick of all the -400 on all your posts? Look at the updates, need I say more.

The dislike button was fine, now this whole "like system" is basically the same as Facebook.

Will we be able to view the number of likes on a post?

Yes, as on any social media.

For example, if a post gets 20 likes, it will say sth like:

"John, James, Tom and 17 others like this."

Not quite. One of the reasons, close to the one you suggested, was that lots of dislikes prevent a player from giving honest opinion. If a post, whether it's by us or by other tanker, has -20, most players wouldn't give it their honest feedback as they get a first impression from the dislike number, without even reading the post.

Oh mah gawd!! Semyon Replied to meh.

Orrr You could have just added a System that, if You Downvote u have to Post something and it won't let u leave the page.. Something like those.

So in future you can not take a simple look at the like-to-dislike ratio...

I hope you stocked up community managers or you guys/girls got a decent raise, because else I wonder how you could handle this increased amount of workload with the same amount of work-hours.

See spoiler for what this change implies:

lets assume tanki brings a new update and players start to comment on 20..100 pages:

Then the community managers would have to:
- read much more posts

- To see how many people agree you have to :

keep track manually of each positive/agreeing posts and multiplying each of it with its individual number of likes it received (as this increases the number of players that agree to the update)

- To see how many people disagree you have to :

keep track manually of each negative/disasgreed posts and multiplying each of it with its individual number of likes it received (as this increases the number of players that disagree to the update)

In my honest opinion you should really add a poll to each of the threads in which you inform us about updates and changes. Polls with meaningfull and worthy answers. If you dare to :P

ps: to all players: feel free to use the votingCounter post on the next page to up/downvote the idea in general

C`mon Tanki, what`s next? Add corner protection so babies wont hurt themselves? Fence around electric generators and factories so baby tankers dont go in dangerous areas?

This is a shame, not allowing us to express our feelings

You developers should think outside the box!

I like the change but "upvote" button should remain here. As said, it will become just like Facebook and "upvote" button was unique for Tanki Online Forum.
