Change in forum feedback mechanism

The problem is that in a discussion with hundreds of posts a simple number of +/- tells me more than having to read through every single one of the hundreds of posts related to the OP.

Seriously? Do you actually think anyone would read through 20-30 pages of responses to an announcement?

No. Do you think that anyone who is conscientious about their feedback that they want to give within the context of other players thoughts would read a couple pages? Yes, people should read a few but not the whole thing. When you force all those players who would have voted negatively to the post on the subject you have to question the potential quality. You suspect knowing their opinion is better than a number but In my past reading of announcements, a good portion of them had less than mediocre responses.

It's a joke??? On every bad updates, there are 50 pages. And if you read the topic, you can actually see messages that tell why people don't like the update. Like for example, the score cap. A lot of downvotes, but also a lot of constructive messages explaining why this update is bad.

So please, don't find excuses to tell us that this update is great.

Are there any other announcement topics with highly constructive messages? Yes I get that you can find a lot of great ones but there are also not very good ones as well. I don't read through them all, again by my prior knowledge of quality. I'd like to see them at their best.

The part of my response that you quoted was in response to an ignorant comment. Later in that I explained my side. In no way did I imply that this is a "great" update, I explained how it might not work as intended. And If you think I am speaking for it because I have an avi, you're sadly mistaken. I have a fair share of updates I dislike, as do you. But simply stating a suspicion should be taken with open minds. Again, like I mentioned to creeperskelly, take all those negative 100+ votes and see what they would comment. You won't think I'm joking then.

I actually may be one of the few people who tries to read everything, but, at least with a +/- it still gives a decent picture of opinion. By the time a thread reaches more than 30 pages it just becomes repetitive.

Practically every polling organization on this planet reports responses in an agree/disagree fashion without requiring respondents to say "why" they agree or disagree.

I have a college degree and can I formulate my criticism (positive or negative) in a clear and concise manner but not everyone can do this.

If the thought is to get people to post why they don't like something I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed in that a great number of respondents aren't going to put much time into explaining why they don't like the announcement, VLOG, or update.

I don't see overall how this change to the forums improves anything other than eliminating the appearance of negative feedback on the original post. When there were upvotes and downvotes those who were opposed/upset mostly posted single blurbs such as "Bad!" or "Not good!" This doesn't seem to have changed.

So, what is solved now? No more down votes, so, many people will just post "Bad!" or "-1" without further explanation. All it's doing is bloating up threads.

Wouldn't it be better to just see the numbers as before than having all the forum helpers/mods now spend extra time on the forum moderating and deleting a bunch of angry posts?

The old mechanism was wayyyy better. There is fun in liking and disliking. Even when that button is there we can still post and say why we didn't like it, so no point in removing that button. And yes I simply disliked the premium account idea. It takes away the fun altogether, someone willing to spend in game but with no skills will be sitting with high rank and equipments. This is not good for the game. The percentage of skilled players will certainly decrease now. R.I.P. Quality of Online Tanki.

Tanki has produced some awesome update, but sorry, this is not one of them.

Give us back the dislike button so that you know that though 145 players have liked it, more than 200 have disliked the post :D  :D

Tankers,

We have just reworked the feedback mechanism in the forums.

You can still LIKE posts. However, from now on, if there’s something you disagree with, you will have to express your criticism in the form an actual post.

Why did we do this?

Because the forum is where you come to express your opinions, as well as give your feedback and critique — it’s a place for open discussion.

But when that feedback is just a DISLIKE button, there’s no dialog. There’s no way of understanding what the criticism is about, and no way of acting on it to make the situation better.

A simple DISLIKE button does not improve the discussion, and it does not make the community or the game a better place.

We hope this change will help improve dialog in the forum, for all the above reasons and more.

Please feel free to share your opinions about this change by leaving a comment below. As always, the more detailed your feedback, the more helpful it will be.

If this is the case you may want to update the policies of your moderators because so far it seems we are only allowed to leave positive comments. Many negative ones get deleted.

I feel sorry for the forum mods that will now have to deal with the mess you have just created. And once again, the burden of your decisions falls on the shoulders of the mods.

I agree with this:

In my honest opinion you should really add a poll to each of the threads in which you inform us about updates and changes. Polls with meaningfull and worthy answers. If you dare to :P

See ?

Many players don't like this update . Does tanki care ?  "We want to listen you" Really, I don't see that !

From now on, Tanki can release  any update, without having downvotes, or a negetive feedback.   ( Tanki doesn't care from posts )  .

Moreover, Tanki will have a couple of "likes" for every update .

Please spend a moment to actually read through the existing posts in the forums rather than arguing with me and you will see that there is plenty of discussion.

Also, if you want me to respond in the future, please at least try to respond to my comments rather than mention some loose statements without much in terms of arguments.

As an example, you say above that "I don't see that", but don't explain why you think so. What is it you are missing to be convinced?

If you just want to argue that's one thing, but if you actually want to change things you need to give me some reason why. Just mentioning your opinion is one thing, but it's not going to convince me to do anything but get tired of reading your posts.

Many players, don't like the update. they like to Downvote, Downvotes are a quickly negative respond.

The majority of posts disagreeing with this update are hastily written and not too thoroughly worked out

The majority of posts in favor of this update are much longer and much more elaborate.

Just noticing  ;)

Well, some things can't be described nicely.

Also, I think over a few thousand dislikes says something at least.

So you want us to remove the like button? Any suggestions for a replacement, or you just think reputation is a bad idea?
