Change in forum feedback mechanism

Tankers,

We have just reworked the feedback mechanism in the forums.

You can still LIKE posts. However, from now on, if there’s something you disagree with, you will have to express your criticism in the form an actual post.

Why did we do this?

Because the forum is where you come to express your opinions, as well as give your feedback and critique — it’s a place for open discussion.

But when that feedback is just a DISLIKE button, there’s no dialog. There’s no way of understanding what the criticism is about, and no way of acting on it to make the situation better.

A simple DISLIKE button does not improve the discussion, and it does not make the community or the game a better place.

We hope this change will help improve dialog in the forum, for all the above reasons and more.

Please feel free to share your opinions about this change by leaving a comment below. As always, the more detailed your feedback, the more helpful it will be.

So, to be honest. I like this update, because some players went to your profile will all their accounts, just to down-vote your posts.

But, I'd be happy if you would change the "Like This" button. It looks ugly, to me.

Semyon, please reply to this post, and tell me what do you think about my opinion on "Like This" button. I'd be more than happy. :)

Also, I like the ability to remove your up-vote.

I don't like this :/

(1) I dislike how it says "Like this", I much rather the up arrow

(2) I dislike that there's no downarrow!

Please you've ruined the game, don't ruin the forum too...

I wanna downvote this...

Why , Just why did you delete the downvote button , tanki is getting even worse , just bcz you got more than 400- on tankers day?

Tanki Online's choice to use a "Like" button is the best implementation I've seen in a half dozen different communities that use this forum software. If you don't like it, don't like it and move on. Easy.

I should clarify my statement above. It should have read, "If you don't like a post, don't like that post and move on."  I in no way meant that the poster should forget if they didn't like not having a dislike button.

Bad updates to TO have been highlighted by dislikes and likes.

Some updates like the recent garage thing where you could buy M3 without prev. modifications did get likes, but others deserved dislikes, but now there's no way for people to show that.

When we're in a hurry and cannot make a post to show dissent, we could just press dislike...It's not always hatred.

But, oh well. I guess you got sick of the dislikes, developers? Well, here's one more from me. Except there's no button for it now.

Ugh. It's just a form of censorship.

When there's 20+ pages of responses to a post or announcement NOBODY reads through all the posts. At best people will read the first page and perhaps the most recent page. What is inbetween likely rarely gets looked at by anyone.

The upvote/downvote was a quick and concise way to judge whether or not a proposed idea was well liked or disliked.

Obviously someone can't take criticism so by eliminating the "dislike" it silences people who simply disagree.

Why not require us to post why we like something as well? Why waste the time to post feeback at all?

Chilling. That's all this is.

Yes!

"We received 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK on the most recent update - great job developers!"

It was a bad idea when other sites did this (Disqus, Livefyre, ebay, etc.)

Actually, if you view it from the devs' point of view, this update is pretty good. You see, some people have a tendency to habitually vote others' posts out of pure spite, or for fun, and I completely agree with Semyon when he says that one does not know the reason for the downvote.

I don't, however, like the mechanism. The 'Like this' button is fine, but the old UI was better - where you had to click on the number to view who all upvoted the said post. This reminds me too much of Facebook :/

But overall, pretty good.

Actually, if you view it from the devs' point of view, this update is pretty good.

Of course it's good -  now they get 100% positive feedback all the time.

If they wanted to eliminate the "mob mentality" simply not displaying the number of +/- would have sufficed.

Why does a like not need feedback? Isn't it important to know what part was liked, or, does the like imply the whole topic/post was agreeable?

What bothers me is that with the serious bugs in the game itself someone spent time worrying about this. What a waste of resources.
