Why Firefox is better than Chrome

Hey guys..... :)

As many of you know, Firefox and Chrome are the two best browsers that exist..... ;)

Although Chrome is a little more popular than Firefox, I personally think that Firefox is better because of the following reasons:

 

1. Open source

Chrome is only partially open source, while Firefox is 100% open source.....

2. More configuration

In Firefox, you can tweak every little thing....

In chrome, not so much.....

3. More download options

In Firefox you can open a file or save it.....

In chrome you can only save it, you can't open it.....

4. More extensions....

Although chrome web store is packed full, Firefox still has more extensions.....

5. Doesn't track

Chrome tracks everywhere you go.... -_-

Firefox minds it's own business... :lol:

6. Less memory consumption

Chrome eats up all your RAM in one second, but Firefox doesn't....

7. Fewer processes.....

Chrome has a billion processes running even though you have only one window open....

Firefox has fewer processes.....

8. You can create you own builds if you want...

Not so with chrome.... -_-

9. There is a setup file.....

With chrome, when you download it, it automatically opens and installs itself..... without giving you a setup file...... -_-

But Firefox gives you an online setup file.....

10. You can add extensions in the android version...... :o

With chrome, you can't..... -_-

 

More, but I cant think of any more right now.... :D

 

(And of course, my favorite browser is Firefox) ;) :D

Yeah firefox is big on privacy. I usually use it, however, I sometimes experience slow start ups and crashes, but its alright.

In my opinion, Firefox is better for Tanki Online. Graphics in the game are better and FPS is higher in FireFox.

Firefox sometimes has slow startups and sometimes irrecoverable crashes. But still, it's much better than Chrome. Esp with that nice scroll. :wub:

I use Google for playing tanki and Chrome for tanki forum, cause the forum in chrome is faster and in google I can't quote anyone's post.

I agree with what you say in your opening post, but I personally feel that chrome is a bit faster and a LOT LOT more stable than Firefox.....

I would like to reply to your points serial wise:

1) and 2) how much do you actually tweak the browser? To the basic limit...which is even provided by chrome...so not much difference..

 

3) okay I would say chrome lacks this, but it doesn't bother much...after all, the same internet and time is used to save or to open the file..

 

4) chrome has enough, and I believe it has an added optional support, if you want to open any new/rare extensions...and chromes handles the most popular ones in the best way...

 

5) it doesn't EVER leak you usage....it only tracks your usage to improve its server, so that WE get better experience..

 

6) and 7) it eats your memory and runs many background processes, but it's much much faster and stable....and also, it immediately reduces the load when you minimise it, thus you can use your PC inmeanwhile (ofc you need to wait for 1-2 secs...and if you're using it from like 4-5 continuous hours, you might need to wait up to 30 seconds to drop the heavily loaded memory)

If you go to about:config, you can edit absolutely anything in Firefox.... :o

No browser will ever be all things to all people, but for customizability alone, Firefox will certainly take some beating.
