XP and BP created dimwits

Recommended Posts

Is someone really a noob for not being able to use one turrets effectively or is it Tanki's fault for creating formatted battles (XP and BP)...

there are 10 turrets and 8 hulls in the game but people always like to say you suck at the game just because you may not be the greatest at one turret which in most cases people like to pin skill to just xp or bp which really is pathetic....

than you see those players in normal battles who can use multiple turrets and hulls effectively and are called noobs for not being very good at railgun..

Anyways, long story short read the title, it is true

When you say "dimwits" are you talking about player attitude? Why should you care in the slightest what a player calls you based on what combo you use? While a toxic player-base can be game killing, I see way more non-XP combos in game than I see XP/BP, so its really a non-issue.

Play the game for fun. If you're controlled by some weird social aspect of the game you're not playing it right.

If you mean those XP/BP players who think Railgun is superb in regular battles

I agree with you: it is not IMO.

(most Railers who claim that mostly have a lot of shares in "Repair Kit Unlimited TM")

And yes, someone who can use all kinds of equipment effectively is never a noob.

Don 't get your ongoing issue with XP/BP though: nobody is obliged to take part in it.

Railgun (unfortunately) happens to be the only turret you can play Format battles with.

It would sure be great that other turrets had their own Format too, don 't see it happen soon though.

So in the end XP/BP offers you the only chance to play as balanced as it can get in Tanki.

And IMO there are some turrets that do require more skills than other to work well:

Railgun is one of them.

(if someone believes Twins, Firebird etc. need more player input: fine with me, I disagree)

Do you have to play XP/BP to improve your skills?

Nope, not at all but in many cases Tankers will learn faster than in regular battles.

In XP/BP you can focus more on the gameplay: less distractions going on.

XP/BP and regular battles create both IMO: so called "Pro 's" and absolute dimwits.

Play both and you create the best chance to not become a dimwit.

I'm struggling to get through this opening statement. You're trying to equate the fact that people are not particularly skilled at a certain turret to format battles, which as I understand were in existence before added to the game. Alright, moving on.

Railgun requires some of the most strategic timing in the game, unparalelled to others. It is unfortunate that some players think that you have to be good at Rail, but that doesn't make them a "dimwit" or any other derogatory noun. It reminds me of the stereotype of weapons like Firebird, Freeze and Twins, and that it doesn't take much skill to operate. Doesn't that make people who have that opinion dimwits?

This seems like a more isolated occurrence. The ignorance of the accusers is your reasoning for insulting XP players. I think I got it.

Anyways, long story short read the title, it is true

You've not convinced me I'm a dimwit, nor should your arguments convince anyone else.

There's no one proper definition of "skill". That's why it's silly to say that skill is being able to score #1 in your team in XP/BP or that skill is being good at Sand XP 1v1s, or that skill is your combined proficiency with all the turrets you own.

Going on a tangent, I feel that the whole idea of "skill" frequently gets overblown, especially among XP/BP players. Tanki is about a heck of a lot more than having more akill than the average player.

This much is true. You could apply skill to self-sacrificial moves in order to stall enemies or just wise hull movement. Apparently there are skills involved with team sabotage as well.

have you ever wondered why people don't use shaft?

because it takes alot of skill compared to railgun which is called hide and go seek.... esepcially with the new last which means u need ever more skill

railgun takes 0 skill to operate ok... low rankers us them mostly for a reason and if you read what the title is....

u would know that people seem to think being bad at xp means u are bad at everything.. which i can assure u is a lie

Well I like your intentions and get what your trying to say, but the way you wrote this is very confusing. I do like your intentions and agree with what you're saying but the topics name is way off.

I'm going to have to agree with you here. It's true that Railgun is the most difficult gun in the game that requires lots of training to master, but I really dislike those, who think that they are better than someone if their skill with Railgun is greater, even if that other player has mastered all guns except for Railgun. Not much we can do about it...

blame tankionline for promoting wasp/hornet rail combo for one year during the four starladder series.

now it's "cool" to be good in xp/bp, so anyone who isn't is automatically labelled as a noob. This is basic human psychology.

Maybe this is one of the reasons why tanki doesn't want to continue with starladder for more series. They realized that promoting the same combo over and over again is not a very good idea business wise.
