Did you seriously just make that assumption? The 1000's you refer to have no idea about this update because they have never seen the main page or anything on it, including the V-log. You may ask How? Well where is the first place a new player goes the first time he goes to tankionline.com? They end up in the tutorial, once there it takes you straight to a game server. It is at this point that they bookmark the page and from that point on they only ever login directly to the servers, blissfully unaware of anything that is going on in the forums or even of their existence. So for you to assume that all of the 1000's of silent voices are happy is unbelievable.  If this same assumption is made by Tanki HQ, then that explains a lot.

You ask how I came to this conclusion, well about 4 months ago I came across a group of players all in the top 4 ranks of the game. There where 4 of them that have been playing with each other for most of their Tanki careers. They are adults and had absolutly no idea about the forum. They had been doing exactly as I described, they had been going straight to the servers from day 1 and had never seen the main page. Seems like a rather big flaw if you ask me.

Oh yeah, you forgot to consider all the players that don't speak English,Russian,or German and don't bother with the forums due to the language barrier. You also forgot about all the kids who only want to play and have no interest in discussing anything.

That too, this forum and vlogs and updates will still be here.  but for how long?  that i don't know, but i do know that its not gonna be flipped off like a light switch the moment unity tanki arrives.  the length of time the flash version stays around can be actually quite long if players support it by sticking around, and i'd love that cause lots of memories in here man  :wub:

 

Hey, you seem remarkably intelligent, I never said they will be deleted when Unity arrives. But, a forum for Flash and Unity, a V-Log for Flash and Unity, or all in the same place. This will not be a mess?

 

As for the lenght of times, Hazel rah was clear, it will remain open as long as there are enough players. But what is enough for them? 30k per day, 20, 10? At some point, Tanki Flash will disappear.

Honestly, This game is ruined turning unbalanced and "Premium Accounts"  subscriptions are made that certain amount so Unity can come out and so Tanki can profit as much as they can from Premium accounts. Then drain you of all your money and I mean ALL when you start over in Unity,This is all one big lie nothing you've said has been true since the beginning of this 2015 year. This is all a train that goes in circles year by year and all it does is take your money. At the beginning or the birth of this game its was Free To Play/Play To Win now its Free To Play/Pay To Win. If you truly wanna keep your customers(Tankers) from not leaving this game and from Unity would be to tell the truth drop the act and keep our posts up here. You probably will have some people who are loyal to this game who might just stay and advertise your game. This game is becoming WOT slowly,Year by year the game fades not as good as it was 2 years ago when it was in its prime. The game would still be great if Unity never came to mind. Imagine the loss of business when Unity comes out People love this game how it was,Notice how I say "how it was"  The game would have had less lag more players more money and more advertisement. An update would be nice every now and then introducing new turrets paints hulls and kits but not like how the game has been in the past 6 months. You shouldn't have ruined Tanki, What if Unity was a huge fail and all you have left is Tanki? But nooooo... Tanki got ruined with all these updates and all the lag. There are better ways to make more money than Premium accounts and all the kits that have been added to the game you just can't rip people off and think its gonna be all better in the end. You would still have players from 5 years ago if this game wasn't so faded and screwed up. One more thing before I go, People don't care about FPS lag they care about PING lag the servers are so far from most people in the USA I would say to move some servers to the US for better ping.

Now about the spin off, perhaps you don't know this but it sure has all its tanks and turrets based off this flash one and some maps based off this flash thing, but, there's a lot more to it coming, like A LOT !!  (damn it they only make 24 pt maximum font size now!?!?   its not enough to  describe how much of A LOT MORE is coming with the spin off!!)

What you refuse to understand is that when players are happy, they just continue playing the game (at most go to the forum and leave a like), but when they are unhappy they go and leave complaints in the topic. So basically there are a few hundred people complaining on the forum, while the rest of the players (thousands of them), who are happy with this update, are just playing the game as usual and they have no need to go and leave positive comments on the forum.

Thus, the main reaction of forum attendants is both statistically significant and adequate representative for  the rest that don't participate to forum. Concluding that forum majority is by no means game minority.

 

 

 

^^^ Now the above by RustyNail is what I call sound statistical argument. Obviously the people voice out when they feel the need to. This doesn't just include complains, but if an update is exciting and contains great appeal to players, they will do the same, expressing positive opinions over that. Check out some of the previous updates if you don't believe me. The number of replies have fallen slowly over the past V-logs, probably showing increasing disinterest in replying to minor updates since there is nothing significant, whereas this update have had a reply count of over 800. Obviously the admin has to realize something wrong is going on, especially if you realize that 95% of the replies are negative. The happy ones (well, not really happy in my opinion, just neutral) are playing the game, you are right, but the proportion of the unhappy ones are increasing tremendously over this update.

 

RustyNail has made an extremely valid comment which I wholeheartedly agree with. By the way, if you guys do need a statistician, let me know. I'm currently learning multiple linear regression in University and would consider putting my knowledge to some use. Flawed survey methodologies and outrageous false statistics simply piss me off.

Well we have offered them all kinds of ideas to make more money but they are stuck on the idea of selling even more power to those that already get a huge advantage just due to the fact they are buyers. 

I don't like parts of this update, but how the tankers are reacting isn't necessary. 

It is a move to get more funding and its a smart move. Just they should make it a personal advantage (garage, cry, XP), not an advantage in team battles. They could open up to some other ideas, but some ideas either will be too hard to implement in time for it to have an effect (before unity) or it wont generate enough funding.

Speaking of feedback. I have to admit I'm rather disappointed in the mods that keep deleting anything that is not positive feedback. I understand that many of the things deleted were in violation of game rules however many negative feedback posts were also deleted for no other reason then the fact they are supposedly "ruining the reputation of Tanki". To me it's like your saying "give us your opinion as long as it is what we want to hear, if it is negative, then don't bother"

aahhh man, there surely was quite a lot of ramble today while i was away, but rest assured most the genuine negative critics are still here.  The ones hidden were all relating to a certain video by a good lad, and if you've seen one of my previous comment a couple of posts ago we aren't interested in engaging into discussion about that video.

The "ruining reputation bla bla" line,,, bahhhhh ,, that's the kind of stuff that always happen when i'm not online, its like they wait for me to go to have the fun mannn :(  

As for the updates and news announced in this week's vlog, by all means if you hate it express it here, tell us how much you hate it, why you hate it and what you think can be a good way to make it less hate-able (sorry, I cbb to google the proper word)

Well, I think that you reserve battles for premium only, is like fighting between druggers only. You level them up like normal tanks. If everyone has the same "advantages", it is not an advantage anymore! So why pay for that?

Yep, you're right about that. The premium accounts only server will then provide a faster track for these players to level up.

 

Well, imagine if premium accounts come out and become too OP, non-buyers will leave anyway. Then we're left with just premium accounts on normal servers. Doesn't that lead to the same outcome? 1/5 of the player population, 10 minutes to find a normal game, everybody has the same 20% protection paint (basically = no advantage over anyone). Then who will continue buying? Everyone will start quitting because no one has an edge over another.

 

 

 

And just to clarify some things I've expressed over the past few of my comments:

 

I'm aware that paying MUST give you some sort of an advantage. Obviously I do agree with that, I'm not being overly selfish in protecting the non-buyers. Companies need to earn a living too. If there's no advantage, there is no incentive to pay. But what we're saying is that advantages can come in many, many different ways. We're just asking for buyers to not become TOO overpowered.

 

We already tried to voice out about the 20% paint being far too OP in our opinion. Suggestions include: a) Progressive increments in the paint protection over ranks (it's really not that difficult to program, trust me, perhaps another 2 hours or so given your programming experience and the past templates that you have over the previous M0-M4 equipment upgrades, it's just changing some numbers), or b) Points that can be alloted by the player's discretion (check out my post on Page 39).

 

Other suggestions include cosmetics (which are a really good choice, non-buyers definitely can't complain much for this one as it does not spoil the gameplay, they just have to admire people with nicer equipment). Almost all MMOs sell cosmetics and there WILL be people buying it, even though it does not give any extra stats. Use your imagination for cosmetics! There can be special wheels, different graphic effects for the tanks, killing spree/multikill banners and streak announcements, different icons for drug activations, different turret animation, etc etc etc.

All of you know that the premium accounts idea has ruined lots of great MMO games. One famous one is Club Penguin.

Club Penguin has the same idea, which is membership. The only reason it survives today is because it's gaming audience

(5 years above) are mostly dumb and very addicted. It is in a downfall. 

 

I have to say something that may have already been said but it is hard to keep up with everything in this topic. 

 

The idea of premium accounts as a whole is a great idea, however it has a flaw. It has been said and confirmed by several people already that selling power or making the game into a pay2win game is and has been the end for a lot of other MMO games. There is no need to give buyers any in game advantage. There are lots of very popular games that offer things to those that want to support the game that don't give them any sort of advantage and yet they have all kinds of buyers. Tanki can and should be able to do the same thing.

 

Now as for the recent events that are occurring in this topic and the rest of the forum. I suspect that all this negativity and rage has less to do with this update and more to do with the fact we have reached a point where we just can't take it anymore. It has been building to this point for several months now and now it is here. There have been so many failed and/or unpopular updates, broken promises and unfixed issues in the last year that many players have left and those of us still here have reached the boiling point and beyond. This current situation is bigger then this planned update and it will take some work to fix the relationship between Tanki and it's players.

 

I have to commend for coming back to this topic to try and sort out a resolution. It's no secret that we don't get along but I will give credit where credit is due. I'm still willing to offer my opinion and feedback if they want it.

I have to admit some points in your post (the highlighted ones) are describing the current situation between the players and mods/ developers perfectly. The problems are failed promises, bad updates and now this change in forum feedback mechanism. Premium accounts is the spark to light the bomb. Players shall start leaving soon when the update is live, mark my words.

But yeah, I've only got two issues. . .

 

1) That paint. 20% protection from EVERYTHING + Mines. Really? ArabianNoble explained it perfectly.

People don't need to buy any other paint. E.G. Lumberjack gives only 30% from three turrets + 10% Vulcan.

Sure it's negligible when you shoot a Wasp with a Shaft, but picture it on a Titan/Dictator/Viking with double armor and health pack. Yeah uhm no thanks. Go with 10%, with the possibility to MU it to 20% maximum or something. <_<

 

I mean look, if they take the time to MU it to 20% max., then they'd be less willing to drop the membership. . . . Yay more money for TO.

 

2) If they get rid of the 150% EXP boost, but keep the 150% Crystal boost it'll really create an imbalance, don't you think?

Today as I realized that test server is open. I rushed in and do you know what I saw, I saw something which could end this game. Premium account. Okay this premium accounts are very serious matter to look in. So I started, "first things first lets go to garage. Yep that's when I saw this thing, discrimination between buyers and non-buyers.

So buyers got a huge advantage. And the the most horrible part of this "PREMIUM ACCOUNT" is that they can buy XT tank, where as non buyers have to strive to rank up to generalissmo and waste some crystals changing missions. Depends on their luck.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tanki is making people to do what they don't want.

Suppose, a kid is playing T.O sees a premium account. Stares it cry for it and ask other people to give him "premium" in his account. Or if this won't work kid will try to steal his guardian's credit card and buy it.

 

There is no difference in parameter of XT and normal tanks. You may see this.

Its all about the paint. That 20% is gunna roll through the match ez, especially at lower ranks.

 

People who have it will win, and people who don't will quit

 

I think it needs a regulation set on it, like a Mark system

 

every mark, you get more %, starting from say, 5% from lower ranks. At high ranks, that's once its 20%
