I Made It

I currently use the Firebird most, then comes the Isida, then the Rico, and finally Thunder. Makes sense, Firebird is a very strong turret.

Very effective in CP with multiple kills in little time. An encounter almost always deadly...can 't say I like Firebirds... ;)

Thunder has become weak and needs a buf: it used to be amazing on Polygon CP!

I play CP nearly always. The order I listed the turrets with is the order I instinctively tend to go into the point, where the most points are.

I like Rico most, but mine is not upgraded well, so it tends to lose when you go into the pit. I am going to try to use it a little more now.

In my case mostly DM followed by CP. I play Smoky almost always, but my next turret beside it will be the Rico.

I do not play with Railgun because when I tried in my low ranks, I always missed even though I was following the tank with the turret. The only time I do not miss is when the other tank is not moving. On the other hand, when someone else used it against me, they hit me even though I thought I moved out of their line of fire. So, early on, I decided that I did not want to be on either side of the Railgun.

I only use Railgun in XP/BP, because it doesn 't suit my "agressive" playstyle in regular battles.

Still I 'm definitely a medium to long-range fighter and Smoky is perfect for that.

You seem to be more a short-range player and in that case Rico makes a lot of sense being a strong short to mid range turret.

Smoky did not attract me because it has a lower DPS than Rico and is less flexible. The fact that it is the first turret one uses helped with that opinion. Despite that, sometimes I am impressed with it. It seems that I often underestimate it. Smoky can be good, but at close-range the lower DPS

means indeed an almost certain respawn, but I think it 's just as flexible as Rico can be. Overall I also believe Rico and Firebird are both a bit stronger

than Smoky. And without bragging: Smoky really needs good aiming skills.

I mainly use Viking because I had better upgrades on it than the Hunter. I feel that I have not benefited from the extra speed of the Hunter but suffered from its lower protection. Remember that I play Polygon CP most often, and that is where Titan is probably the best hull. Despite that, I am considering getting Hornet at some point. Titan is a great hull in the pit, but Viking IMO is better, because you reach the pit a lot faster.

Hornet doesn 't work that well on Polygon CP, I now always use my Hunter there because it can take some damage.

I do go for the point, otherwise you and the team your in loose, but I 'm also quite good in killing (being a DM-nub :P ) so I often

spend some quality time clearing the pit from a distance with my Smoky on DP... :D

Maybe at some point, I will give the Railgun a try. Maybe I will be lucky and get a Railgun XT mission. :P And get an M3 for free!

I can now have fun!

Sorry to be the one to say this to you, but you had fun getting up to that rank, being a Generalissimo is boring as hell, no objective to get to, you rarely have any available kits you can buy and the missions simply suck and are not worth the time.

So boring I started a new account and rarely use this one any more...

Oh and BTW I'm not playing anymore until we know for sure we can transfer our accounts to TO Unity, because if we can't, and they suddently decide to drop TO Flash (I know they said they won't, but what they say and do most of the times isn't the same thing), I won't want to have my time wasted, and just start a new account when TO Unite comes up.

I don't think everyone is on a PC that can handle TO Unity quite well, i mean i see people complaining about lag on TO flash often enough and i'm not talking about server problem, i'm talking about FPS issues and TO flash cost very little resources to run.

Unity will be better. I have less errors when settings and screen are turned down.

Tanki got to complex as a flash game; I get constant lags when I play on full settings while my FPS is 60.

Mouse controls suck aswell, it's just too hard for flash to make it happen.

These are no hardware problems, they're moving to Unity at the right time.

Because I don't see any graphical improvements being added in the near future on the flash T.O... Not without more lags.

Out with the old, and in with the new.

Well i'm hoping so, id really prefer my account be transfered to unity but i don't mind starting over again, i'm fairly new at game so perhaps that's why.

Any mistake or regret? I'd say mine was buying turret/hulls that I don't use.

For me the biggest issue is mouse controls - the addition of that really helped me, but, it means some turrets do not respond well.

Firebird, Twins, and Isida work well with it - those also happen to be the three turrets I used the most - with or without mouse controls (this is due to the rotational speed of the turrets).

I only use Hornet and Hunter.

If I started over I would focus on one turret/hull only and upgrade it the best I could instead of wasting crystals on other things.

Don't think of that as a waste of time. Think of it as fun. Play in a battle as long as you enjoy it. I agree that I had some fun or I would not do it for nearly a year, but the pressure made me go into battles I did not like or play longer than I should, etc.

I would be disappointed if the Unity version started from scratch. I think everyone will. That is why we should have as much fun as possible while we can. :P As somebody said, if they focus on Unity, they will make less miserable updates to this. :)

Not really. I did not make serious mistakes that I know of. It was a learning experience. If it were not for the kits, I would not have tried Hammer, Isida, Thunder, and Fire. One could have experimented a little more in the M0 days, but I was a serious noob then.

I laugh whenever I remember that the time you see when you hover over the micro-upgrade (which is the delay) in my early days I thought it was the time a micro-upgrade is active. :) When I read about people upgrading something all the way, it did not make sense to me. I thought they had to do that repeatedly. It is kind of embarrassing, but hey there was no good tutorial I went through.

It was a recreation for me. Some people train rigorously to figure out how to aim a certain weapon or climb on top of a tank, ramp, building, whatever. I never thought it was imperative to do that.

Maybe the only think I feel bad about is discovering CP pretty late, but this is a matter of opinion.

Same here, never really played much CP until Marshal. Didn't realize that the payouts were good even when losing. :D

When I started out I was focused only on getting the flag and returning it. As I moved up and played more I found my style - to create chaos by attacking from the opposite side where most of my team would attack from - in Rio this means plowing down the left side from red to blue, then, entering on the left and spewing flame or plasma balls all over the place - trying to damage as many tanks as possible while distracting enough of the blue team so that someone on red could grab the flag. For me it's more fun this way - I rarely bother with getting flags now.

I'm not one of these people who could deal with Rail or Shaft - hiding and then coming out to shoot, then, ducking again. Parking on a hill in Rio with Smoky or Thunder with drugs isn't my style either - I get right up in someone's face if I have to until someone is killed.

Also I enjoy trying to do things which are seemingly impossible or strange - nothing gets a player more upset then when I mysteriously drop off a roof to block their retreat in taking a flag (hence, earning the "creeper" part of my screen name with regular precision)

Congratulations and well done. :)  I think it's quite an achievement not to have used a single garage drug along the way - and I believe you when you say you didn't!  I'm also impressed that you didn't have many protection paints to help you either.

I've always liked CP the best - though not the single point ones like Polygon, ect.  Shame it isn't more popular - and now it's not so good anymore because of the score cap update.

When I first tried Railgun, I didn't like the waiting time between shots so moved on to several other turrets.  But I started to get bored eventually, and gave Railgun another try.  Well now it has become my favourite turret (on Hunter or Viking), so I'd say definitely worth another shot (so-to-speak)!  I found playing Camp TDM great for improving one's aim!

Anyway, nice to know some can make it through this game without using garage supplies or spending a fortune on paints. :)

I haven't found paints to be all that great except one - with Graffiti I can march right up to any Vulcan without worry:

Hard to believe this guy was using DD, DA, and had paint with 25% against Twins.

How many hours did you play @Baby_Sam

Its nearly been a year since I started playing and am no where near ranking to generalissimo

PS I talking bout my main @DarkShadow916

It is really hard to tell. I did not go by hours. In the last few months, I was doing about 5k exp a day. Then it went down to 3k exp. I was picky with my battles, so that took a while. I probably played for 1-2 hours but good battles. That naturally added about as much time not playing because of the lack of good battles. When I find myself not doing well (wasting my time), I quit as soon as I figure that out. In bad battles, on top of not making a decent score, you practically earn no crystals.

I naturally played more on the weekends, usually. On the last several weekends, I was actually busier than weekdays.

50% protection is very good, and that is Graffiti, Zeus, and Clay. Before Mars, I used to get scared of Firebirds (and Hammers). Zeus is seriously good with Fire. However, you should never march up to a Vulcan (like a noob :P). You should go around it, especially if you had a short-range turret like I mainly did since Brigadier. With Twins, you don't need to march. :P

Fully upgrading a Gizmo paint costs 750-900k crystals, making it cost 1-1.2m crystals.

Most of the time I do move in a circle around them or quickly zigzag back and forth because I know the Vulcan cannot lock that quickly - but on some maps (like Iran) it isn't always possible due to the self-destruct zone to the right of where I was located.

If a particular Vulcan is highly annoying then I will just drive in a straight line towards them to assure every blast from Twins gets them. :D
