Good, things that are wrong always need to be changed.  And here's a great chance for you to do just that.  Stop taking statements and presumptions from some players to be "the answer that you wanted" and come complain about it later ;)

ok thnx for the explanation :)

I would like to take the oppurtunity to say something in this thread.

Yeah, we can all agree that some of the updates since like November 2014 have been pretty bad.

But a lot of people say "those Devs never listen to us"

Well... that's not exactly true.

Let me make a few examples.

When constant "234" druggers were always taking over battles, people complained. And what did the devs do? Introduced smart cool downs! N

Now it's impossible to "234" non stop drug in non pro battles!

People were always complaining about how the old crystal box mults just joined battles for crystal boxes. And what did the devs do? Remove crystal boxes and added them into the battlefund! Thus making Gold fall more often and making the battlefund grow faster. - MUCH faster.

Sure... We all miss crystal boxes, I myself do as well. But the one thing that we certainly won't miss is those old crystal box mults! Right?

Fly hackers were ruling the maps earlier this year. - especially when Gold Boxes were falling, I mean... Fly hackers took them 90% of the time.

And what did the devs do to stop fly hackers from getting a massive advantage by getting to places where normal players can't get by themselves?

They added SD Zones on top of all houses and buildings.

Now... fly hacking in normal battles is practically pointess. Why you ask? Because all they will keep doing is just keep on self destructing!

When Hammer and Vulcan were released, people complained about how OP they were. Which they were, and I'm not afraid to admit that I was one of those people complaining too.

Now what did the devs do? Nerf them! (which means make something less effective or deserable)  and they nerfed it like 2 or 3 times I believe.

In December 2014, a LOT of people were complaining about the new auto aim update. You know, when you could get easily flipped. I was one of those people too, because getting flipped every 30 seconds, especially in XP/BP battles was extremely annoying. You spent half of those type of battles laying flipped upside down on the ground.

Now, what did the devs do? They reduced the impact force of Railgun, which meant getting flipped was less often. Then... they completely removed the flipping feature

But seriously, do you guys get my point? Do you guys get what I'm trying to say?

The devs sometimes don't listen to our ideas, as there's far too many of them. But "devs NEVER listen to us?" Nah... not true.

They're not as "evil" and "corrupted" as most people think they are.

You say you don't care, but yet you keep bringing it up    But anyway I'll answer

That forum topic you're referring to can no longer be seen, and even back then I didn't see it, I only got to see snippets of it thanks to some friends back then.  And not just that topic, but recently while making History of eSports winners @joostcool and I spent hours and hours searching but even the tournament topics connected to the incident were gone.  In fact to this day we're still struggling and looking for old eSports players who were in those tournament back then to get some statements from them, old pictures and any materials that can help us reconstruct the lost history.  You think I'm happy about all that?

Its actually a shame, a shame that we current admins and helpers still have to deal with thanks to the acts of certain individuals from the past WHO ARE NO LONGER PART OF THIS GAME since ages ago.

Note : For many people wondering why we don't just accept anyone as helper, this kind of stuff I described above gives you an idea why we're so selective

tl:dr  :  Its about an old cybersport incident that happened way back when this community was just starting out and if you weren't here then we envy you for not experiencing what actual "tanki staff corruption" was.

Also -1  for hiding behind an alt , and no don't even throw a lame excuse like its hacked or banned, I checked and its not been banned for a month now.

Also I just went googling about "making presumptuous statements while hiding behind an alt" and dictionaries spat out the word "coward" and urban dictionary gave a synonym for cat

Also, thanks for your feedback :)

Nicely said, Ostrica! :)

But seriously, I really hate people who hide behind their alt accounts, just to avoid bans, or to hide their real attitude.

If you ask me, Ostrica, you shouldn't tolerate such behavior. Next time, simply ban his main and alt account. ;)

Though, I know that you won't do it. :P

By the way, tell us who is acting a "cool guy" behind that alt acc...

The fact that admins can get away with this kind of disrespect pains me so much, it is a perfect example why tanki needs major change when it comes to its moderation and administration system.

So arab is now a mean ogre?  Look pal, just because you are forced by tanki to support them, doesnt mean its right thing to do.

Hey what's wrong with ogres? :(  you guys never seen Shrek or play other fantasy games?   He said make an org chart and I made an ogre chart and its funny  :P , so stop being grouchy and cheer up a bit lad

A Question!

Why Semyon Ranks up so slow? xD

Because that is just an account he uses for Tanki related stuff, therefore he doesn't play it much. There is also the demand on his time, he simply doesn't have enough time. He does have at least one account.

I have an issue with the fact the admins and some mods are calling themselves "volunteers". I was willing to volunteer some of my time but found out it was more like a paid job.

I was asked to apply for a moderators position a while ago. I was told that I would need to spend a lot of time doing the job. I told the admin that I didn't have that much time and only could do it a few hours a day about 3 times a week, but would still be willing to take the position. The admin then told me that it had to be much more time then that or not at all.

Well this seems contradictory to what a "volunteer" is. Now, some are saying they don't get paid and some say they do, but at that time the mods I know were getting paid. First you may want to get your stories straight and second if I'm expected to put in a minimum amount hours adding up to more then a part time job and getting paid, that's a "paid job" therefore staff, not a "volunteer".

The logic is flawed, as usual. "We don't have enough mods" but yet you don't want my help or anyone else's unless we are willing to do commit to your terms of full time hours. Oh well, your loss not ours.

I'll explain, from the point of chat admin. This game has a lot of servers, which in case of EN community have to be checked 24/7, because we have players from all over the world which are playing in different time zones... So in order to be available to players at all times, we need mods with a lot of free time on their hands, to be able to cover as much servers and as much hours per day as possible. Such requirement is even added to the list of requirements for chat mod position. We're also trying to recruit candidates from different countries, with the knowledge of different languages (we're currently covering around 30 world languages), to be of service to all - it's a common situation that several mods have to work on the same server at the time, since players are chatting in several different languages. That leaves other servers without the proper coverage. I'd add that it's much easier in German or Brazilian communities, for example, who are dealing with only one time zone and only one language. So we really need mods to be available on daily basis.

In your case, you were offered the position but you clearly said that you, quote, "don't want full time responsibility" and that you "wont be available 4 days of the week for awhile". You also said that you don't want to abandon your clan, since you were a co-leader. So it's not that someone told you that you're not acceptable, you refused position by yourself for multiple reasons. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

That being said, I would like an official answer to this question: Will our accounts be transferred? Yes or no.

I know for a fact that the biggest concern people have right now is that they will have to restart for the Unity version. All of their time, money, crystals, and effort will all be wasted.

I would like an affirmative answer. Yes or no. We've already given the devs many months to answer this question yet they still haven't told us much about it.

For the last time, and in order to calm down some players (including me)

Will we be able to transfer our accounts to TO Unity? Will we need premium account to do so?

This is really a simple question to answer it's either yes or no.

In this post by Semyon he stated :

unity.png

So why the change of stance now, people who spent money on this game spent it with this fact in mind investing in current tanki

And preording tanki unity. we have a right to know the answer to this question.

is it true that u will have to start over in the new tanki ?  :( if so i prolly wont play i spend much time on this account

Developers are currently busy determining whether transfer will be possible or not. This is because new Tanki’s economy is being developed now, and the transfer decision will highly depend on how different this new system will be compared to the old one. Once it’s clear, we’ll make an announcement. Even if there won’t be a transfer, we’ll make sure to give TO players as many goodies as possible in the new game, we are not planning on disappointing anyone.

This question has been answered countless times already.  It was mentioned in past vlogs, and even in this topic

You haven't really said any more then I did. The fact still remains that I said I could do it 3 days a week and because that didn't meet the requirements set out in the rules it never went any further. I still maintain my comment that even a part time mod that can deal with things as they come up, is better then no mod at all.

No, you said that you cannot commit for multiple reasons. In our experience so far, "part time" mods aren't doing enough... especially compared to the fact then some mods work more than 10 hours per day. Every day.

We do not force applicants to have that kind of dedication, but daily occurrence is what we're expecting from every candidate. Especially during their training period.

Tanki, sorry to say, but you guys are.. slow, you dont want good of your own players! thats it. it doesnt proves just from the updates you give, and those negative comments , noob updates!

yeah! on 9th august my acc got hacked and hacker spent my 252k crystals, i provided the help desk with ALL the info, even the exact value, and still they were not giving me my crystals back. GOOD very GOOD mods, banning the enemy of yours and supporting your friends, i would say, EN community should give you a huge applause right? (claps)

there is much dicrimination, tell me one reason, why arabian would post such type of videos? si he mad or something?

pls mods, if you got guts, pls dont edit this post, like you did with lashako's post, i saw what he actually wrote about you, and how it looks after your editing. claps again! wow

Hello. I have just checked your correspondence with the support. As I can see, they were answering your letters pretty fast, doing what they were supposed to do. Based on the evidence we have, crystals were spent from the same IP as you usually use. This means it was either you or someone living close to you who did that. If it was you, nothing can be done. If you believe someone else could have done that from exactly the same IP (which I find extremely unlikely to have happened), you can contact the support once again.

I must say that when it comes to dealing with players' complaints and issues, there's no favoritism whatsoever. We pay same amount of attention to everyone contacting the support. If you have evidence  that I am not telling the truth, please let me know.

Who , why do we never get any comments from any developers other then him?  He can be very disrespectful at times and isn't a good choice for a representative of the development team. Only one rep for the whole EN (oops sorry international) community and you wonder why players say Tanki doesn't really care about what we say.

Not answering and not caring about what you say are two very different things. I personally spend quite a lot of time reading forums, but I only answer when it's needed, just because I, as well as the rest of CM department, need to firstly concentrate on global things, such as announcements, V-LOGs, strategic planning, contests and so on. When it comes to spending your time effectively, you tend to choose things that will give you a bigger value.

However, I agree that there isn't enough personal communication in the forum between players and people representing Tanki. We'll be working on solving this. This thread, with so many answers from people with avatars, is already an improvement. We'll make sure it doesn't stop on that.

hmmm, even though I have seen other devs post in this forum as well, it is true that hazel is the one who has a more consistent presence in our forum.  but then again most the questions asked concerns gameplay and updates being rolled out or having just rolled out and he is very well positioned to answer those.  lets see what devs say

edit : semyon ninja'd me on this one

It your referring to the word "Staff",  unfortunately you need to remember that 90% the players consider you "Staff" and therefore to know all the answers. I assumed that you where all payed employees of Tanki when I first started to play here and I'm an adult so would kids know the difference.

If you'd have picked up on the drastically different style of answering i had in that post you'd have figured i was just teasing the new guy a bit :P  and no, we don't expect our players to know the difference the first time they come on forum, its quite normal for any newcomers to see them and take them as actual staff of the game.  Its the duty of each and all helpers to clearly identify themselves and their roles to whoever might think they're an actual staff.

Sorry, but this proves nothing. Well actually it does. I would say that the majority of the intelligent responders ask that Tanki not sell power or in other words to not give even more of an in battle advantage to the buyers. But they didn't give us that. To be honest, I think 20% was just a smoke screen to distract players, knowing that when they made the announcement that they reduced it to 15% they would look like heroes. The problem is they are still giving to much of an advantage to buyers. Just to be clear, I used to be a buyer and I know first hand how much of an advantage just being a buyer gives you.

M , lets leave aside our tanki monikers for a minute.

From me to you , personally.  We know each other for a while, we played together, we've been on calls, at times personally, at times in group.  A group consisting almost entirely of adults from various places round the globe, all being buyers and some were even quite heavy buyers.

Yet neither me nor anyone in that group can go about and say that we got any advantage by buying.  Mate these kids owned our bums when they wanted to pwn us.  True I didn't get to play much with you, but on the few occasions we did, we sure won a few battles, but on the really good battles we were quite pathetic mate

I close my eyes and I can still hear gv swearing at the kid who grabbed the flag in front of him, frenchie getting annoyed and complaining how this is not fair, bandit going "oh no you little .... you did not just ..."

Lots of fun moments and great memories indeed :)  but when I looked back on those I don't really how us being buyers gave us any definite advantage, other than when vulcan was just released and frenchie got it the same day / week , but then the thing was drastically nerfed and adjusted to be more in balance with everything else, + more players eventually got it as well as paints protecting from it.  I call that a temporary advantage at most.

The Daily Missions system needs to be in balance with the game. This means players shouldn't be earning more crystals than they are spending, otherwise the game would start dying (not Tanki-want-all-of-our-money thing, it's a general practice in any MMO, a rule of survival). To keep this balance we are adjusting the crystal/supply prize ratio for Daily Missions. Sometimes it gets decreased, at other times it gets increased. So, it's a dynamic thing really, being analyzed by our GDs and analysts.

Oh please, it is the job of the game devs and analysts to hook the player, then entice the player to spend real money, when done well the platform has happy players with an increasing userbase, but when it is done wrong by focusing to much on revenue reguardless of players happiness then it fails and userbase decreases and revenues fall.

The creator of Tanki said it himself in an interview that too the game was concentrating too much on revenue and needs to get back to its roots and focus on player satisfaction.

Tanki has added over 3 million in costs for high rank players to advance in the game but has done nothing to speak of in increasing ingame earnings.Every increase to ingame currency has been nerfed as soon as it has been implemented, and players feel forced to pay exorbitantly  to compete at M3+ level. Not to mention the subsidizing of Russian players costs in purchasing crystals.

The principle of ballooning (or pyramid) costs forcing players to spend more and more as they progress through the game now has soured players to the point that it is not worth the net value of enjoyment Tanki is providing its customers. When it costs 5000 crystals in supplies to win 1500 crystals in a game, it is no wonder that you have the situation where 5% of the players win 95% of the games. leaving the other 95% of players dissatisfied in the game.

How you can say it is even close to earning what you are spending is utterly ridiculous and on the verge of being deceptive and misleading.

Test drive is not what made the servers lag, don't mix things up and as semyon said in the last vlog, devs are aware of the issue and are working on it.

As for readjusting things, that's not sign of bad planning.  On the contrary, it is dynamic and flexible planning. spent much time on this forum explaining things to you all in simple terms, but hey if you wanna be stubborn and keep saying they're bad then I don't know what else to tell you, get some mountain dew and make a video may be

Sorry man what u and hazel say as dynamic and flexible palnning to me is a wrong planning.

A simple example

You work to a company. One day that company bring a beer machine.Everyday people drink too much beer and they can not work so the company begin to lose money. So the boss remove the beer machine and give them a bottle beer after they finish the job so he can keep them happy and do more work for him without have them drunk.Tanki did the same it gave us crystal boxes with more value but it destroy the gameplay so they removed the crystal boxes and put them in in battle funds so it can keep happy the players.

So what the boss from the company and the tanki did wrong? They had bad ideas and they did not search how this going affect the people/players.So they have to change their idea because  it is harming their product. When someone hurting his product with his ideas it is meaning he have bad plan.

If u and hazel want to say that bad ideas/updates are fiexible and dynamic i can not turn your minds sorry.

Oh about the lags it is really a big coincidence that they begun after the test drive update.

Really impressed with the communication that 's going on now. :)

Speaking for myself I 'm not going to start arguing again about things that did or

didn 't happen last Sunday.

It leads to nowhere and thanks to this topic it 's also not worth it.

I rather see this topic as a fresh start and I want to thank all TO representatives

who have participated on this topic.

It lead to a positive atmosphere, at least in my view.

It would be great if there would indeed be more personal communication as you mention.

If people in normal life don 't or hardly talk with each other there is also a greater risk of

distrust, miscommunication and gossip.

This ofc doesn 't mean that TO has to inform the community about every step they make...

but if the management would give some more attention and information to the players why

certain things happen, it would prevent these "riots" and create a lot more understanding.

Especially with updates, important news IMO it would be good that a TO representative

who has some real "power" and freedom to speak would be on the Forum in an early stage

after the release. (or maybe even before the release)

This representative could answer "heated" questions and in doing so stop the build up of

misinformation at an early stage, which often happens when players who don 't get feedback

start to make their own (and often wrong) conclusions.

Hope this intention to step up communication comes true! :)

So Ostrica says ya'll do expect them
Who to believe in this situation.

You don't ask for them but you expect them.

You see there is a difference in how you word this. I've seen admins do A LOT of work in other games, and what do they get in return? Respect from all the players for the hard work they put in.

What do you guys get? Hate. Because you only do what you are told to, not what you have to.

What's wrong in it if they expect it?  Speaking personally from my admin experience, I do not see any harm in any of my guys expecting some crystals here and there.  What matters the most for me is the job done and the quality of it.  Mostly that last part and if its not to my satisfaction they don't get much if not anything.

Also see the rest of the answers in this post which are relevant to you as well, and idk in case you didn't see we also get players supporting us right in this thread and many other places.  Its just the ones complaining who are more vocal and that's why you see mostly that.

They did it because if they thought if they didn't pay you no one would sign up to do the job.

Its plain and simple.

We all know that staff members are getting some kind of payment and I agree that you should. Money or crystals - never mind and I do not care becouse it is not my business.

But next time, staff members (administrators and moderators) do not tell us something like "we are doing this for love" or "we just wish to contribute to the game". I am polite and honest, so its is logical that I expect the same from the other side.

Well, these people in those conversations might want to kill me for not taking their permissions before posting this here, but they're all good lads, I'm sure they won't mind.  You'll recognise them : 1 ex-forum mod, 1 ex-reporter in a chat well before this topic was made and mountain dew spilled, and 1 commentator upon seeing one of the comments in here :

Now you do know some of the many reasons why people join the project as helpers in various categories :)

Now another thing, I hate how everyone keep using words like pay and get paid when describing helper rewards.  Only 1 admin so far used the right words to describe that those crystals really are.  The crystals and other goodies a helper obtains for his contribution to the project is not a salary!!  They're just mere token of appreciation for their hard dedication and time, time they could have easily put into playing the actual game or doing something else, so what's wrong if they get a few crystals?

man he didnt destroy the fun, he just put some facts

believing them is upto u

its our own thinking that is destroying the fun

He 's still enjoying it.

And whatever he did or intended, his videos containing both right and wrong information,

stirred up emotions that I for one believe (and felt) where building up in the TO community.

Maybe this topic is also somewhat initiated by his video 's and if so: than he surely didn 't

destroy the fun for everyone else, maybe it might even improve.

Heres a fact. Unity will FAIL if our accounts are not transferred.

Not necessarily.

This whole mess arose from incompetent promotion of Unity from the start.

Unity was heralded as the way to go, to eliminate the issues with lag as well better utilities to combat hacking that cannot be done in the current flash version, now they are saying it will be an entirely new game that will be completely different from the current version so accounts may not transfer.

The real reason they say that is simple, transferring accounts reduces possible future revenues.

The present flash version is teetering on edge of collapse, tanki has tweeked every byte of code they can to keep it running, and still the bugs, glitches, and  lag remain.

The idea that Tanki intends to maintain the existing flash version is nothing more than devs and annalists lying to themselves and users of this game.

Why on earth would you try to keep a failing system running when you have the capability to offer a smooth running system in its place.

An analogy comparing tanki players and drunk employees   (I'm saving this post for all the people who say that I am drunk  )

Joe just think about it again mate.  Crystal boxes have been part of the game ever since I first played it.  And it remained for quite a long, long, very long time in this game.  And for most of that time it wasn't a much of problem for either the game or the players.  Heck, even my very first post and topic on this forum was about crystal harvesting, or farming as tankers used to call them :)

Now here's where it became a problem, a lot, several players gradually started multing, only running after crystals and not playing the game at all, leaving their team to suffer.  Some wen't even further than that, by going into matches on the other team of where their friends were to mult while collecting crystals while their friends would not kill them and instead, as my arabic mates put it, d3s the other team and get the battle fund.

That kind of activity became a plague as legit players were never left with any chance at all.  Hence the update getting rid of crystal boxes, it was more than ever needed.  When it happened and was announced, I too was :( cause damn it I liked those little blue boxes falling and in big battles you'd be able to every now and then run through a whole bunch of them while hearing that satisfactory sounds they each made as you passed through them

But soon after that update, upon seeing how dynamic the game had gotten again, the blue box pleasures was one I was happy to trade off for an overall better battle dynamic.

To refute your main argument, could the developers have foreseen years in advance upon including crystal boxes that years later, and even after a whole rebalance, that there would be mults and they would have to eventually rethink the crystal boxes out of the game?

Tell you what, at that point they did not even know their little game would have grown to be as big as it is now.  And if they did not have a dynamic planning, and stuck with a static plan, they'd be doomed by now and we wouldn't be here warming these keyboards with our arguments.

Also if you can't keep adapting and want to stick to a static planning, then I'd suggest never to seek employment in any MMO industry.
