Myths and rumours answered

"Common sense" tells me that Admins and long time Mods are not spending 50+ hours a week (as claimed by some) for free. They have to be getting something for their time.

There is a much bigger reason that there are such double standards about who gets banned and who doesn't, but I'll just leave it up to everyone else to figure out.

I once knew a player who became a mod and later an admin. It was very sad to see the changes in the point of view of this person. They used to be about the players, now it's all about defending Tanki. I wonder what changed?

I have a question: Why exactly is power levelling forbidden?

I mean, it doesn't affect other people's gameplay.

Obvious reasons, leveling up and earning crystals without a fair fight.

You probably should see this in points 1.13 and 1.20 of the rules. It is as said above, two players playing in a match together with "deliberate inaction" of one of the players, which is usually higher ranked than the other. The lower rank is destroying the dormit high rank tank for the experience.

Lol, so why not ban buyers and mods while you're at it?

They can get crystals without actually fighting in a battle, but they still have to play to gain experience. What will a multi-millionaire Recruit do against a higher rank?

The reason why power leveling is not allowed is basically the same as the reason why 'Buy Experience' option was removed in 2013. It was giving rise to inexperienced higher ranks which defeated the whole purpose of having ranks in the game.

I kinda disgree

If someone plays Island CTF(you know how), both players are active. Then?

Let's say I power level with my friend who is also a , then how exactly do I violate rules? And if I do may I ask why?

Because it ain't the same person with these 2 acts.

Both players are playing so what exactly is violated?

Edit: now may I ask is it allowed for me to power level now since I'm already a now? Clearly I'm already the highest rank so there is no more chance for equipment gap

If both players are playing, then it's called playing, not power leveling. PL, by definition, involves one of the players deliberately allowing the other player to gain xp's by means of inaction.

It's pretty simple - mods are human beings with complex personal stories. Some of them are successful businessmen who are bored and wants a fulfilling hobby in which they can chat with others and have fun. Others have medical issues which force them to practically be chained to bed, and there is not much for them to do other than to be on the Net all day. Then there are students who needs a hobby that will keep them sane (when they do not study for exams), and Tanki happened to be it. And you have mods whose whole family plays this game and they just want to have fun together. Not to mention those who are spending some quality time with their respective partners, who are also staff members.

Don't presume that there is some big drama and secrecy here - when you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth :)

See some people forget that human beings surf the net.

Tanki isn't some big faceless company, it's a small MMO being hosted by a Russian-based development team.

Hint at the word "small", this game isn't world-renowned or famous, it's known by a small but loving fanbase.

I don't know if this is true. but are we not allowed to discuss religion in the Forum? And if so, why ever not?

It might be unfavourable for other religions thus starting a anti-religion war which is not suitable for the game.

Any form of discrimination on the basis of race color or religion is forbidden in the game as Juvenile's also have the access to the game and it can lead to a ban!

Yes, Game Rules 2.3.10 & 2.3.14 make it quite clear that any form of discussion of religion which leads to discrimination or offends any party is not allowed. The reason is quite clear. Most such discussions are volatile and sensitive and people are quite easily offended by matters regarding their religion/faith. So, it's best to keep it out if this forum.

Why cant we get any rewards for having the best kd when the battle is finished

That's because K/D ratio hugely depends on your game play style. A mammoth shaft on defence will obviously have a much larger K/D ratio than a wasp trying to get the enemy flag multiple times. You can't say that any one style of game play is more important than the other, and hence, rewards can't be given for highest K/D ratio.

Also, it will depend on some other factors, like equipment (kit buyers will have obvious advantages), drugs, etc. Rewarding the person with highest K/D ratio is not only unfair, but also illogical.

I would like to listen to a tanker that is a generalissimo rather then a low ranked tanker with a kd under 1 :)

This experienced Generalissimo agrees with the Major.

This one does aswell — K/D ratio is useless, it is used to brag, show off and annoy / flame other users with things such as "I'm so PRO, look my K/D ratio, I have skills".

K/D is useless to define how hard and deep a player is fighting a battle and, as @beaku said, you can see a flag-taker with a K/D of 0.02 which is doing more than a camper sitting in base with Mammoth / Shaft with 20 K/D — no flag-taker, no fund at all, my dear ;)

Rumor: Is Ricochet the best Turret

Answer: Yes. Duh!

:D

The answer to your rumour is yes and no, since every player has his own opinion on a specific turret/hull.

Also, there are no "best and worst" turrets and hulls, because every turret/hull is the best, as long as you are the best in playing with it. ;)
