My take on Premium Accounts + Staff

My Take on Premium Accounts and 's videos, as well as our Tanki staff/helpers.

 

 

Introduction

 

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. This article is about 's video, but no, I'm not stupid and I did not embed it, so this better not be deleted. I was promised by both and @Issho_Fujitora, who are both forum mods, that my opinions about the videos and updates would not be deleted (I have evidence in PMs which apparently I'm not allowed to post here -.-). So if my post is deleted, I better get a damn (I can use this words mods, its in a username of a mod, so don't find this as a pathetic excuse to delete this) good reason on why. Sure, it criticizes mods. Sure, it criticizes devs. Sure, it criticized the game. But - what happened to freedoms in Tanki? Why can't we post our own opinions, or someone elses (hence arabian's vid) on the forums? Here's the pathetic excuse I got from I_F. He says that it was deleted because it was untrue, because it was a lie, because it portrays the staff  badly, which is apparently "untrue". What kind of reason is that? If I post something saying the damage hammer deals per shot is more than railgun, does it get deleted without a single word from a mod telling me why? No warning point, no PM explaining why, nothing. Is that what we deserve? I think not. By the way Mr. I_F, who I'm sure is one of the main limiters of posting arabian's video, I have this on copy + paste, in a screenshot, and a video, so don't think this will go silently. ;) I better receive a reason why so I can 'revise' this to not break the so-called "rules".

 

Also, I'd like to give a huge shoutout to , for having the guts to make the video he did, which you can find on the classyplebs youtube channel, which I won't give a link to because it could be a reason to delete this. -_- I'd like to thank him for revealing whatever he revealed (i won't say its the truth because its yet another reason to delete this, apparently thanks to "rules" by I_F) in his videos. 

 

Premium Accounts

 

First - this terrible, terrible Pay2Win feature called "Premium Accounts". What are premium accounts? (For those who have isolated themselves form the Tanki world xD) Premium Accounts were announced in V-Log 63 as an account bough with real money that would give you access to a paint with 20% protections against every turret and mines, 50% more crystals gained in battles, and 50% more XP. They are an atrocious excuse for Tanki to make some cash before the release of Unity, which they apparently are in desperate need of money for. Let us all hope that this update does NOT continue into Unity, and is just a way to pick up some quick cash. This update is completely outrageous, and basically is Tanki Online's official transfer to a Pay2Win game. Pay2Win games become much less fun for those who buy little, or not at all. They make free to play and free to win games into free to play and pay to win games. Becoming Pay2Win basically ruins the game for occasional players, non-buyers, and light buyers. 

 

The previous game I played before TO, (Grepolis), started as a great, fun, free to play to win game. Most players loved it, and paying only gave you tiny things to help you grow as a player. In 2012, the game won MMO of the year. They had events for it and it was great. Shortly thereafter, the game went downhill. With the new popularity, Innogames, the developers of the game, decided it was time for them to make some more money. First it started with little things, like events that could get you small advantages in the games. Then they made it so you could basically buy more to build yourself as a player, kind of like crystals in TO. This wasn't all bad, as Tanki was fun when you could buy crystals and there weren't so many pro-buyer updates. Later, they completely destroyed the game with an update similar to the one that will be released onto Tanki soon. They made it so you could literally buy your way to victory, conquest, and superiority in the game. I left shortly after, and so did the majority of their community, besides heavy buyers. The forums were full of people who used to play, making fun of the game, writing about how terrible it had become (hence me xD), etc, etc. People were made fun of for actually PLAYING the game itself, because the game was so outrageous. I later quit the forums too, and moved on to find another game. I found that in Tanki, and have been playing it since. At first it was amazing, but as everyone knows the past updates have made the game far from that. Now, I'm on the brink of what I was practically forced to do in Grepolis, quit. 

 

This isn't something I want to do, as I love playing the game and its community, but recent updates are just crazy. Maybe I will stay long enough to give Unity a shot.

 

Tanki Staff - What is the truth, and why can't we find it?

 

Let me first start with the fact that I'm not saying TO, their devs, and staff are corrupt. I am rather stating it's a possibility!

 

 

Tanki staff have gone through a lot due to 's video, but I can't be certain I feel bad for them. What is the truth? Has it been corrupt for awhile, and still that way? Or are our staff/helpers really not doing what they do. 

 

 

Here's one of my friends, who I won't say, who also believes and was told by a former mod that the system was corrupt. So is it true? I've had many, many mods tell me it is false including SpaceCowboy, I_F, HazelRah, DonCarnage (you get the point), so if they are revealed as lying  (which arabiannoble has already come close to proving), that will prove we can't even trust our own players in the staff.

 

I will not state my own opinion on this matter, as it will probably cause it to be removed by our staff. :)

I'd like to thank you all for sharing your opinions on Premium Account. After thinking it through, we've decided to decrease Premium paint's protections from 20% to 15%.

 

Once the feature is launched, we'll be closely monitoring the situation, reacting to it if necessary.

My God, I never intended anything to be a tirade against all mods.

 

I express my dissatisfaction with the lack of information forthcoming regarding from tanki updates, and how questions regarding this information are responded to by the helpers, along with the possible motivations they have for their various responses and actions.

 

I will mention something, when I joined commentator, I never knew about any sort of payment until after they accepted me :)

 

But many of these mods are my friends, and human beings just like we are.

 

But in the eyes of many, they are either devils or angels, and I also am being portrayed the same way...

It's not just your video, but outrageous amount of posts deleted for pretty much one reason - it goes against Tanki and its Devs. Your video and many other opinions have been deleted at will by mods. It's not all about the staff, their just doing their jobs, but are those jobs really worth keeping, and why are they lying if this is true?

The staff members are not corrupt. I don't know any staff members who are in it just for the crystals, in fact I would go as far as to say that the staff members don't care about the crystals. I am an ex "staff" member, a Reporter once. I know that the people I worked with were some of the least greedy people I know, and I can vouch that every one of them would continue being a Reporter even if there wasn't any pay. I would have been a Reporter without any salary. 

There is a reason the staff does not publicly state the amount staff members are payed. For one, now a bunch of people will apply simply because they want the money. Also, it makes people believe the staff is corrupt, which is not true. 

The censorship plaguing tanki is not the Moderator's creation. It comes from higher up. I think that almost every English staff member does not approve of the censorship we have seen over the past few days. 

The English Staff is not corrupt. There may be a few exceptions out there, but I highly doubt it. I can't speak for the English or Russian communities, however. It is very difficult to become a staff member, and the administrators do not seek players who only want crystals. 

 

Premium account, on the other hand, do suck.

I would think you would be surprised. Tanki can just leave us behind, if they advertise Unity enough they will find plenty of new customers, especially with what they want - MONEY.

If the censorship comes from higher up, and the mods are the ones doing it, it is ultimately their fault, because they are the ones doing it. They could be like arabian and leave their positions, but instead follow the devs rules and delete most anti-tanki comments. I doubt this post here will last long.

I feel like Tanki could shut down forever, just like what ALMOST happened with Tanki Online several years ago with the hackers littering every single game. Everyone could quit and the game will be left with buyers, which will make the buyers quit because they can't wreak not-buyers.

 

Let me tell you something. I can't play a deathmatch in Tanki at rank Marshal because I will be one shotted by drugging-buyers at spawn. This is rediculous. If buyers now get 15% protection against any turret I equip I will have no hope to every get a kill again.

 

Most pay-2-win games have lost a lot of players, and money. Almost all players who buy don't buy a lot of crystals, or they used to buy crystals when the game was cheaper.

 

I have met a lot of buyers that are going to quit Tanki if this update goes bad.

Word of mouth is the worst possible place to get rumours from. If you generally believe something that has been passed on to you by a large chain of people, then I have bad news for you. Whatever it is that you are told has most likely been changed and altered from the original version countless times.

Whatever it is that you are told has most likely been changed and altered from the original version countless times.

Not true, what says, true or not, is a DIRECT source. Not altered unless he lied.
