Is Tanki Becoming Pay-To-Play?

I think it is pay to play as far as micro-upgrades are concerned. They are far too expensive now. The cost of the hulls and weapons is ok, it just takes a long time to rank up and get them.

yes some of those I agree with,  BUT IF TANKI becomes a pay-to-play,  I will lose my FAVORITE game.

 

The devs do listen to us,  don't say they don't, ex.  bug information.

 

all turrets are good if you know how to use them best.

OK, let me break this down for you...

 

1. This is something that is required to happen every now and then to make the game work. It's very difficult to achieve perfect balance, which is why some turrets always end up being more powerful than others, even though in theory (when balance was calculated) they all seemed equal. I doubt that balance changes are specifically biased to make players buy powerful guns every time.

 

2. This is something that exists is almost all free games and software. Playing Tanki Online for free is like using a trial version of the program, which is given for free, PRO battles are like an expansion pack, that gives you new features, variety and customisation options. Tanki is actually quite generous in that sense because those "extra features" can be bought for a fairly low price of in-game currency by free players, whereas for other programs you almost always have to pay real money to get them.

 

3. Crystal drop boxes have nothing to do with forcing players to buy. They were causing sabotage in battles and their removal helped the game become more interesting, fair and competitive.

 

4. Daily Missions are actually a benefit to players with only one account. With Daily Reawrds, players used to create many accounts and accumulate thousands of supplies by collecting the rewards every day on all accounts, but playing on just one. This resulted in a large number of "druggers", which were a problem for low ranks.

 

5. The paint is the only advantage Premium account gives. And even then, the paint is only 15%, which is rarely better than a normal paint with MUs. It's only a big advantage at low ranks, and not many low ranks will be buying Premium.

 

6. By removing the downvote button players are now forced to explain why they don't like the update in a comment. Leaving a dislike does not help the developers understand what is wrong with a new update.

Experience rarely has the upper hand against drugging, as the boosts that supplies give are way op and I'd put my money on the drugger to win most times.  I hardly play these days as most games start with me spawning into a game (normally on the losing side as is the case most of the time) only to be instantly one-hit.  One look around in the game and I can see the supply icons above most of the players on the opposite team, so I just leave.  Upgrades are becoming too expensive for me too and nearly all the pro games I've seen lately were parkour.  So here's how I see the game at the moment:  Professional tier that can spend money to buy account for double xp and crystals, upgrades, supplies etc. The rest of us are just their canon fodder.  Not my idea of fun really.  Oh and why can't Tanki devs rent out the in-game billboards to advertise on?  They wouldn't be annoying pop-ups just static ads in the game??  Something to ponder.

For the non-buyer it is difficult to save for upgrades in addition to drugs.

 

It's really annoying when I am killed in one shot before I even get a chance. The only turret that should be able to do that is shaft. Health druggers are also very annoying, and impossible to kill if they are using isida.

I have nothing against buyers. I have bought some myself, more than I should have, maybe, but it's my money. If you want to know, I will say I have spent $200 so far. The problem I have is, guys with Mammoth and Twins M3 invading Noise CTF, pwning everyone, drugging as fast as the supplies reload, etc. But, there must be buyers, the developers have to feed their families the same as you and I do. Drugs are overpowered, absolutely, but that alone is not the problem completely. It's the fact that if I go on my lower account right now, I buy let's say Siberian Kit. I can MU this kit to essentially Hunter M2 and Freeze M3, and have this at Warrant Officer 3. Plus I can basically have unlimited supplies. I have also managed with 30 days of premium to go from Brigadier to General on my other account, but what is not "right" is I have done this in 30 days, 5 hours or less a day! It's not that buyers are bad, and they must remain here or Tanki will be no longer, but why we all get pissed off by druggers is because they are overpowered as heck. If the supplies were cheaper, yes they may not be expensive for a few, but try buying 1000 at a time like some players do. Not cheap. If they were cheaper we would all drug, yes? Exactly, but this cannot be changed to make drugs less powerful, because changing how powerful the equipment and drugs are, only causes people not to want to buy, as then they cannot be better than someone else. Yes maybe Tanki has not made the greatest choices in some things they have done, but in the end there has to be buyers, and every single developer, MUST be able to feed each and every one of their children in the evening. Please everyone give me all your hate comments now. I am a buyer too, but I will be criticized for something I have said, surely.

This happens to be the case of ALL games (video, board, mind, etc.), not just TO.

Quite honestly, when I run into Preemie sellouts, I get the entire team to focus on that particular buyer. Who cares if we lose the round? Killing the tool and making the game fair is more important.

This has been suggested many times, but the reason they will not do it is the same as if I posted a link in the chat that would take you to say, Burger King's website, or a website advertising for them. I would be banned, as advertising is against the Rules and so on.

Wrong. An M2 Hornet can be 1 shot to an M3 Thunder (on dd). M2 Rail with Double Damage will one shot even M3 Hornet.

I think he was complaining about the things you were talking about there, he thinks that only Shaft should be able to 1-hit stuff because guns that 1-hit and super frustrating to play against.

good job and yes in the mid 2015 - 2016 almost every update was good for buyers and bad for non buyers i disagree with mafios0 as crystal boxes were sabotage for team modes and NOT IN DM'S   devs could of simply removed it from team battles , and u say u removed down votes so that people can express why they dislike them lol people when express there thoughts no one listens once the update is live changing it is not there downvotes were the main way of disliking if u do disagree with something u write about it and no one ever listens . tanki is now a days beggining to be a pay to play game non buyers are just put in the back . not every one has free money to spend on a video game they have real life things to do too .

How can it be against the rules if the devs sell the billboard space and advertise the paying company on them?  They own the game so they can do what they want.  Yes, players are not allowed to advertise in-game as there could be a conflict of interests to the game ( as in advertising a similar game etc.)

And they said crystal boxes made mults and sabutagers?

Only very little stoped since they were removed and you guys refused to put them back because a mear .5% of mults stop?

If you guys concerned the real problem with multing and sabutaging its tutoral mode- make it so you MUST PLAY TUTORIAL MODE, learn how to turn turret and play the game.

I have to admit, Tanki did a good. They added Premium Account benefits as a Daily Mission. While it makes it harder to determine the preemie players from the free-to-players, it does give people a chance to fight back against the overpowered scum of the game.

True, but... I'm mostly talking about the lower ranks here buddy. I guess at your rank, preemie players don't really make too much of a difference, since (from what I've seen) everyone at that rank drugs and/or has awesome MU'd paints. The only big difference would be that the preemie players get twice as many crystals in battles, and hey, who doesn't want that?

 

I still think it was a good move. It may seem pointless to you, but for me... it's pretty big.
