The fact that no two battles are exactly the same. Each one is going to have a different score and outcome. When players leave, they're refilled with brand new ones to change the game. There's 4 different battle modes and I don't know how many maps. I love playing in the rare maps. Plus there is XT battles, tandem clubs, duelist clubs and clans. Not to mention you can use different hulls and turrets to change your style of gameplay. No matter how much you've played Tanki, you still haven't experienced everything.  ^_^

I play because:

1. I'm trying to get to generalissimo.

2. I want to play without buying crystals with my alternate account to increase my skills and crystal management.

3. It's fun!

4. To take down drugger noobs that have no skill against people that can drug back and has skills.

5. To kill annoying tankers.

6. Twins = wins

7. I have good equipment

8. Gold Boxes

9. I have free time

10. Tanki X is not available to me yet.

What do you mean by this? Tanki is a simple project yet one with an incredible amount of depth i beg to differ to the latter part. It's a predictable game with little mechanical options or requirements (this is assuming under maxed level and not a buyer, where you don't have all turrets M3 and MU'ed, but even if you do than nothing else is fixed).

and if you find yourself bored in the game, that's probably because you need to try something new. Make some new friends This is an MMO with random matchmaking and ONLY random matchmaking, that's kinda hard NOT to do. What if some people feel like this game is mechanically challenged? They're not wrong.

Reach out by PM to some players you've always admired Will they read it? PMs start to lose purpose if only one party participates. Those things aren't uncommon with an MMO, the game isn't intended to be a social hub. They won't magically be friends with you anyway.

Learn a new combination What if you can't afford? gg you just made the game unfun for yourself. If you've done all the combos, now what?

or immerse yourself in the world of XP/BP if you haven't already Some simply get bored of XP. I can relate, StarLadder is incredibly boring. If you like XP, you're gonna get desensitized: there's a lack of depth to this game, but I can't be bothered to write a paper. I've already done that, but I can't seem to explain outside of experience. Regardless, what makes XP/BP take skill? I would love to know. Please don't say anything about aim, we can go to any other shooting game and show you how hard it is to line up shots quickly.

Find a parkour buddy/group and try pulling off some inventive tricks This list is really getting exhaustive. You're literally the only person to suggest doing this. Even if this is a "common activity", it's not you playing the game because it's Tanki, you're playing the game because you just want something cool to happen. There are hundreds of games out there that can achieve the same effect. Why not move to some other game with a physics engine, except I enjoy it? It doesn't have to be new, I've been playing and still enjoy games that have a longer lifespan than I have.

Join a clan If the clan breaks up gg, that's your only reason to play the game

or start a new one with some friends aren't they the only reason you're staying then?

and find a way to make it a unique clan, different in some respect from all the others You do that, I'll be amazed. You know how hard is it to even be unique in a game that doesn't offer much AND is over-saturated with clans? What about long term? In other, far more popular games, the best clans have simply broken down. What stops some small-time job from doing the same?

Hone your writing skills and imaginative abilities and apply for the newspaper team I'm playing a game I don't like because I write papers for that game. If I don't sound silly please press the red x at the top right corner. Thank you.

Or do something entirely different, and add to the community in your own way Let's assume I don't enjoy the game: I won't go back to the game, I'm just gonna stay on the forum. Cool, problem fixed.

Most of this depth isn't even depth, it's the community. Look at all the people commenting about the community. I really doubt many actually play for the "skill based game play", "teamwork focused game play", "difficult but extremely satisfying gameplay" or even "fun gameplay" unless they haven't played any other game. Even if people have played more games (not Kid Pix. I mean what people call the "hardcore games". Jeez, they sound terrible now.), I doubt anyone would say that "Tanki has more depth than <Game that involves shooting guns to loot guns that do different things to shoot those guns and to loot more things where you play as a character with a unique skill tree> or <the game where some major company that sells you digitally downloaded PC games at a low price has revived and added skins to where the whole game is based around how cool your gun looks rather than the skill but the game is difficult to play, since it has a lot of strategy choices and it a team-based fps>

Why the heck would I want to play a game I am bored of if it's only for the community? Then I'm not playing "Tanki Online", I'm playing "Social Chat Room Where You're A Tank Or Whatever".

I doubt anyone reading understands this.

(This isn't a post about your post specifically, but I would assume many people share the same point: i decided to save time by replying to only one post)

For scientific purposes!

I wish to see how far the community will devolve.

The chat so far has reached Neanderthal-like status, and the game is currently overrun with a new species of tankers using the very interesting combo of Railgun-Hornet.

A lot of stuff to be honest:

  1. First and foremost are my friends obviously. I made a great deal of friends in this game and I can't just leave. Some are even best friends of mine.
  2. XP/BP
  3. Forum
  4. The game is still fun, but I don't really play other modes like DM, CP or TDM. I stick to XP/BP cause it's fast and organized, but that doesn't mean I don't like other types of gameplay.

I can understand the above perfectly well !

I am a veteran .. this is one of my many accounts ... have been a veteran even at the RB ... have seen much here ... and unfortunately the game is downgrading with ever increasing speed

The core of all TO problems (noobs, saboteurs, mults, Gold-hunters, etc, etc) is the enormous and unexpected wave of adolescents that has swept any reason and integrity off the game !

5-6 years ago, it was easy to have an intriguing game with tankers aged 30+, we harassed and kicked the teens off, to not mess when real battles went on ... now ... I see teens on every server, even kids under 12 ...

TO has failed !

The once captivating, energetic and focused gameplay has become a cartoonish and boring playground for children to linger around waiting for Gold ... only the nostalgia for the once glorious times keeps me here ... won't be for long though ... I just can't stand the Neanderthal-like contingent that roams the TO universe these days (

I am pondering that very question, why am do I still play Tanki!  A more important a question, why do I put hundreds of Pounds Sterling into such a place?  A place where I have just seen a moderator justify not banning mults or other miscreants.  That he values the clan that may harbor such a miscreant more than a victim complainant.  I have always felt that the handling of mults and other wrong doers has always been rather slapdash, I thought that it was laziness or that it was not a high priority because they are so busy.  I was completely shocked to here that it is policy.  That they valued the mult more than the the goodly player or a player that puts real money into this game.  Little wonder why so many are so unhappy in this place!

I cannot agree more with you on this.

Well, maybe the new kick system this fall would solve this.
