Ok,tell me what is new except graphics

Well that is something new. If it's something completely new game, then it is logical that brings something new.

Tanki X beta is still being tested, let's wait and see

Ok,so just the graphics new so far...

Let's wait and see. If something is in beta than it haves "space" to complement and add, not only to correct bugs.

Also, I do not think developers must show everything at the moment.

Yes... and new parkour physics ;)

However, we cannot assume that is all. Since it looks like they will not have account transfer, it is safe to believe that they are working on something big(ish). If you think about it, they already have most of the basic building blocks of the game (as we now know it) created, and in BETA at that. They can build anything they want out of it now that the floor is made.

I am not saying it will be completely different, but I would like to be in the devs heads and see what they are planning.

Now, on the other hand. If it is the same, I will be disappointed but will play it anyways. Besides, they may have something planned long term. These guys have not shown to be dead end developers.

I have a few questions. Firstly will I be able to transfer my TO account to Tanki X ? Secondly will Tanki X make us buy the game? If they do I am strictly not gonna buy the game, therefore TO is losing customers . Thirdly will the game be able to load on my computer without such lag?

This is not part of the question, but tanki online said that they will double battle fund if they took the 1 and 10 crystal boxes from the game which they have not done. They haven't doubled the battle fund just to point it out there.

1: Unknown whether you can transfer. 2: Tanki X is a free to play game, with in game purchasing. 3: Depends on your computer. You should get about 40 fps with Intel core i3, 4 GB ram with average graphics in the game. This is a client game, so if you have a dedicated graphics card, your game should run better.

Of all the popular browsers only Google Chrome does not support the Unity plugin.

All other popular Browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox support Unity plugin.

TO will not develop the game so it can work with the Unity Webplayer (Unity plug-in),

this plug-in is NPAPI based and there are only a few browsers that still work with that,

and even they will stop supporting it soon.

There is no future for this webplayer, so it wouldn 't be smart to invest in it.

Unity WebGL is a new plug-in which is HTML5 based and this one is futureproof but sadly not up

to the task yet. This WebGL plug-in can only handle simple browsergames at the moment:

and Tanki X will be far from a simple browsergame.

So we will have to wait till (and if) WebGL gets major improvements so it can

handle a game like Tanki X.

And don 't expect that soon, better late (very late)...

Till than Tanki X will be a client game so you 'll have to install it.

Did I said that Tanki X will not be client based? No. I said it will be both, client based and browser based.

No, for now it will be only client based.

Watch the Q and A video they made at 1:24

Taken from the video (at 1:24)

Question: will Tanki X be a client game or a browser game?

Answer: "Tanki X will be a client game so you need to install it before playing.

As for the browser version, unfortunately many browsers currently have

problems working with the Unity web-plugin, and this creates problems we

can not overcome.

But Unity itself might decide to fix this and that would make it possible

for Tanki X to become available as a browser game as well, in time"

For now, but not never :)

True, just don 't put your hopes on it.

I 'm pretty sure TX players will (have to) play it as a client game for a long time.

For the tekkies: about Unity and WebGL

An Update on WebGL Platform Support

In March 2015, with the launch of Unity 5.0, we introduced publishing to WebGL under a “preview” label in the Unity editor. Since then, with the release of 5.1 and 5.2, we have delivered a series of improvements for our support of the platform. With today’s launch of Unity 5.3, we’ve decided to remove the “preview” label,

and make WebGL an officially supported build target. It’s worth noting that work on WebGL as a platform is an ongoing work in progress

– but we’re confident that our implementation works well within the current constraints of the ecosystem as a whole.

In addition to a number of bug fixes and more comprehensive documentation, the 5.3 release includes a number of improvements to WebGL shaders, shadows and file compression handling, all of which should translate to greater performance and increased graphical fidelity.

Browser support for WebGL has also improved significantly over the course of the past year, which means that the potential target audience for your games is constantly growing.

We are not yet at the point where all Unity features are supported in WebGL, but we are committed to the continued development of the platform, and look forward to bringing you regular updates on new features in future releases of the Unity editor.

This article goes about MMO 's but the differences between browser and client based games

get well explained:

I understand what you mean, but...

Tanki Online on Unity: Questions and Answers

Will the game remain browser-based or will it have to be installed?

In case of PCs nothing will change -- Tanki will remain a browser game.

You will need to install the Unity plugin on your browser. This will only take a few seconds as it is only 2 megabytes in size.

Mobile versions will have to be downloaded and installed, just like other applications.

That 's the first time that TO gave a lot of information about what is now known as Tanki X.

This post was dated 28 April 2014.

Sadly enough most of the info that was given at that time is completely outdated.

In this post they were talking about a complete account transfer, so you could play TO and TX

with exactly the same account and garage:

quote from that old post: Will there be a way to switch from the current Tanki to the new version?

Or will players have to start from the beginning?

The new Tanki and the current version will both exist at the same time.

You will be able to play any of the 2 versions.

You will also be able to copy your account from the old Tanki to the new one, but only once.

This will copy your rank, crystals and garage.

After that you will be able to play both the old Tanki and the new version.

This was a bit premature to put it nicely because now a lot of Tankers, myself included don 't believe in this no more.

Won 't go in detail, but account transfer as described above won 't happen.

Same with economy:

quote:  Will there be changes in the game’s economy?

No. Balance, prices and ranks will remain unchanged.

If you followed the news a bit you might know that TX will have a different economy.

They haven 't even decided yet (they say), also look at the answer given in the Q and A video at 3:54.

Without going further in details I can assure that this post from TO from 2014 that you mentioned is

outdated and that the more recent Q and A video has the correct information.

The conclusion stays: TX will (for now/afaik for a long time) be a client based game.
