Halloween has come to Tanki!

I like a good deathmatch sometimes, in Kungur or Deathtrack or Subway, say. This Halloween map was incredibly boring, and heavily geared toward the short-range slugfest turrets. And the supplies! Most of which were out on the killing ground, where the firebirds and twins ruled. At any given moment, two-thirds of the players had multiple drop-supplies active, and the rest were hitting their own drugs to stay even with everyone else. Of course, many were doing both at the same time. Another step toward making supplies feel both normal and mandatory.

 

I wouldn't have played it at all, but this account and my next highest both got the Halloween mission, so I ended up playing roughly two-three hours on each one to get 3000 xp and collect the crystals. Glad for the crystals, but damn, that was a slog through the mire.

 

I recall one battle didn't have a single gold box, and two others each had two gold boxes simultaneously. To me, though, a gold drop is just an opportunity to shoot fish in a barrel.

Short-range?

This was more a map for long-medium range IMO. The drugs were kinda OP yeah , but I drug much myself so I can't reallt complain. I didn't have a goldbox either , it was mainly the big hulls that got them. I don't really mind though , since I came first every battle and got almost 1k every time.

Tanki, this has been the best Holiday this year, if not in two years!  The mission was intense(used a ton of drugs) but really rewarding.  With the crystals from that and the 5 golds I caught, I was able to get the "Huntsman"  kit, which is AWESOME.  Once again, great holiday, and I can't wait to see what's for Christmas!

One of the gold boxes was epic. Titan isida was drugging and would've gotten it.... if he wasn't lagging a lot and passed through it... m1 thunder shot twice and destroyed everyone but me and a hornet firebird (including himself) and luckily for me the hornet firebird was also really lagging and went through it while a railgun sniped him, then i rushed in and took it with 10 tank corpses still on the ground.

Developers - note that there are occupational health and safety issues encouraging players to play for long extended periods (eg. to get the enormous crystal Halloween reward).

Some thoughts on the map...

- it favoured some turret/hull combo more than others

- it became very boring playing it for an extended period.

After watching my grandfather play for over three hours to win his crystals, the thought of playing that much DM was so discouraging that even 7250 crystals did not seem enough to make it worth while.

Good job Tanki, you've actually managed to make it good! Having 10 times the gold boxes and an awesome mission and map totally wipes out the fact that we had a dumb sale. XD Hope to have even better next year!

Well,well, well, this Halloween gets a mixed reaction from me.

 

Firstly, I bought Dictator M2, thinking that the gold machine would help me in my quest for the golds :P Turns out I lagged so badly when a gold dropped that I passed clean through nineteen of them, and could catch only one. The Halloween map, though, was pretty intense, made for some great drug wars, would like to see it in the game!
