There used to be many secret rooms on maps but were removed long ago. Apparently they "sabotaged gameplay" by players hiding in there. I honestly never came across this problem.

You never came across this problem because most just wanted to continue on playing the game and those places were sooo hard to reach, when one wanted to reach it, another guy would just block him and tell him to continue with gameplay.

 

Come on TO this idea is really good. Bring back some fun from non-intensive gameplay :P

What if I told you that the same word sometimes means different things depending on context? In this case by "Easter Eggs" OP clearly meant in-game secrets and not actual eggs from Easter holidays. Common sense.
