[Issue 44] The Dumbest Anti-supply Arguments of All-Time!

 Share

Recommended Posts

Heh. I bought twenty repair kits yesterday because of an annoying Firebird. He came right up to me and tried to fry me but with [1] heh...let's just say all his plans went up in....smoke against the business end of my M1 twins.

Also i bought twenty Double Armor/Power supplies. I look at people three ranks ahead of me when I fight and I laugh. No longer am I so defenseless and utterly destroyable. Don't mess with me, you will regret it.

A very self-explanatory message!

You didn't mention skills, strategy, optimum weapon or paint ... just buy drugs and win! Powerful, strong and unbeatable!

Three ranks aheand means a M more than you. Pressing 2-3-4 gives 3xM more than what you have.

Every M upgrade gives abt. 25-30% increase ... everytime you press a number it gives a 100% increase!

... Of course you can win!

Even though it sounds strange that you have that position. You haven't the profile of a drugger!

Your topic is actuallyquite impressive. :) really made me see where your opinions come from

I appreciate it for the good arguments, but i have to ask; do you really think you are accomplishing something?

You have many good solutions, but for many you need dev support.

If your effort actually makes a change, i owe you support for your future suggestions/critisism.

But let's say devs keep the supply mechanics as such. what does that make your sharp arguments?

Ultimately it comes down to trust, Do you trust tanki or the commynity to do anything.

Lets be honest.

Have any of the recent updates shown compromices... the best they could do was the decrease on premium paint.

little attention given to normal players, and why would they its not like flash needs to last much longer.

I don't trust devs, i just enjoy the things they've already done for the games entertainment value.

So i think you should really question your trust on people who really only want 2 things from you: money and ways to make more money.

Then there is the community whichpeople mostly concists of childs and childish opinions.

I know there are many intelligent tankers on forum, but i think tanki isn't a big thing to many of them, and they will leave. i think you might too

I have no idea how the community could work in big ways, the dislike button was the only thing uniting their opinions...

People here can literally start arguing about anything... and tanki makes sure it stays that way by separating them to buyers, xp/bp:ers, druggers, the list goes on. If there were no normal players there would be no druggers (dualism n' ****), but by having groups of players with differing opinions on every controversial subject devs prevent major outrage.

And the community is supposed to achieve something. without devs it's hopeless.

On the third note can devs and the community cooperate and for example make your suggestions for supplies true?

Yes of course...but will they choose you over buyers, over no-lifers or even over nubs?

They propably wont becouse you don't make them as much money even if your solutions would be much more balanced.

Remeber flash will most likely not be useful to devs in a short while... dead games need no balance or compromised solutions.

Whoo that was long :P  hope you get my point out of the jungle of words.

I'll give you hint: its not against anything anyone does, its only against the hate going on on tanki, and im not targeting anyone on the topic if you are enjoying yourselfs there is only one thing i can maybe advice you on: don't get angy with the game ^_^ <3

Thanks for the kind words,

the topic, the arguments, the data that were gathered were not mine alone, they were a collective job and Brubook has added all the names of the contributors at the end of the update (page 71).

All of us, together, have discussed, exchanged our experience with drugging and did this summary for the community.

Initially, our goal was to bring the issue to Devs. But soon we realized that Devs were really indifferent to our point of view and not only that, but they didn't spend a quarter of an hour to politely explain to us why they did not care.

Due to their long term absence from serious topics of this forum and the continuing experience from their updates, we came to conclude that all of this was just a intentional squeezing of the players' wallet, following the principal "they don't understand, so we can keep doing this".

Hence, there is no trust anymore to them.

So we keep this topic just for the players' sake. In order they understand the exploitation and the socially negative conditions this game develops to players' mentality.

Of course, I personally have become "cold" to Tanki and my days here are numbered. Two things keep me here, one is I lack a few xp points for reaching Gssimo rank and two I wait to see what Unity tanki will be like.

Other than that, the game has grow a very deteriorated environment, battles end prematurely with lopsided scores while players are swearing and insulting each other and in general this is not an environment I would allow my child to participate to. But they (the devs) clearly don't need my managing advice for their company, nor would I care to provide it.

So, thanks again for the kind words and good luck to you in whatever you're doing :)

Admin's Note:

I am well aware that both this article and the topic in general is a controversial one and one that many people have strong opinions on. You are welcome to have a respectful and mature discussion about the topic and article, but I will be monitoring this thread and any insults, flaming, slander etc will not be tolerated and will be dealt with.

P.S. Yes, that title is click bait, deal with it, and some people may need to get a sense of humour when reading this.

I have the skills, I am getting very irritated with the M2 twins, Firebird etc. I can't pay for crystals and those premium punks are everywhere, all I am trying to do is to level the playing  field. I only have M2 Shaft, Isida, Freeze and Hornet. Everyone has a lot more M2's then I. I am howling for blood, and blood I will get, you better damn well believe it!

I do use Tundra, which I mu'ed heavily enough, to survive three glancing blows from a M2 Rail while I use my M2 Hornet. The protect is around 36%, and my Dirty paint has 36% from Shaft. My M2 Freeze is Mu'ed to be strong enough to slay a fully drugged M2 Hornet (51.3 damage per tick), which always makes me gleeful. However..I have noticed recently alot more people at my rank are sporting the Isida-Viking M3 kit , and either with them drugging or not, the 31% protection from Isida on my Electra paint just isn't saving me. That is starting to tick me off greatly, so expect me to mu Electra heavily. I come up with counter-measures, and everyone else seems to come up with counter-measures for my counter-measures.

Lol, I don't even have to use an armor or repair kit against a firebird unless he uses Double Power. An M3 could empty his ammo on me 1 time and still not kill me. Loam can troll sometimes, seriously.

Anyhow, I'd suggest you get a paint that protects against something like Firebird, you could use your supplies for something else worth the effort and have the firebirds crying because their weapon is almost of no use.

Ehh... what paints are avail. for your rank?

Firebird M2's are a pain. I have Storm paint with 21% protect against Firebird...though it always fails me.

I wouldn't bother arguing with Rusty or Brubook, there's no end to it until they relieve themselves of this game, Bossman. If they say you don't have the skills, meh, just leave it. Who are they to tell YOU what you don't have. You are your own person. If you let the words and actions of others guide you, you're leading yourself to ruin. Defend yourself if you must, and move on.

Anyway. To deal with something like say... Twins, best thing to do is distance yourself as much as you possibly can to avoid full damage and impact. If you end up with your back against the wall, continue to save up and get a protection paint against it.

For example; I have Urban. 40% against Twins is nice and all... but you will suffer the consequences of Firebird (it only has 5% Firebird protection which is almost feel like 0% lol) severely if you don't have an Isida close by. I'm not including the factor of supplies either with that; just my own experience with this paint, with our without their aid. Also if you've got good protection against Twins ( coupled with decent HP) face him head-on; "Face-hug" is what we call it in WoT, where you are literally nose-to-nose with the enemy. A lot of times a Twins players will just keep trying to pressure you. Give him a surprise if possible: a Mine. Again, don't risk your life trying to stop an incoming opponent if you don't have the means for it. Just going to get smashed.

20% against Isida is DECENT, but something like Electra (which you have) is better. Just keep the distance as Isida has a pretty dangerous range if it catches you. But if you want to distract an Isida and force him to focus on you (Say you have a Teammate running with a flag and he's not well protected against that Vampire of Doom), forcibly block his path, allowing your teammate to escape. But really, only do this if you've got a decent HP pool and good protection against Isida or else you'll just get wrecked.

I'm not sure if you have troubles with Ricochet, but Urban only has 5% against that as well. Not very great, and you need to stay away from it and areas the player can manipulate around the map to shoot you. I can't really say much for Rico; don't see it often.

You seem to be handling Smoky and Rail pretty well, so I'll leave that part alone. Your judgement seems pretty reasonable on that.

I also see you've been utilizing some of the basic paints such as Dirty and Storm which isn't exactly 'bad'.

If you'd like some more info on what paints to use and whatnot, you can shoot me a PM. It'll be easier to catch me there as I'm usually 'AFK' in TO until I feel like I want to battle

Basic?!? I thought Tundra was pretty well advanced on the paints list...Besides why spend for something that protects 20% against four weapons when I can one paint that offers 40% protect and swap on and off paints used against specific weapons?

Wait a minute, wait a minute! When I said "Basic" I wasn't including Tundra... I was moreso talking about Dirty... sorry, I should've cleared that up.

I guess the whole 'Arsenal' of paints is just depending on what you encounter in your games... it takes some observation...

Hah. Okedoke then. I consider dirty to be advanced, LEAD is basic!

Trust me, I have made ALOT of expert observations!

LOL alright, alright, now THAT is a basic paint :P

I guess MY idea on a "Basic" paint is a single-protection one, ya know? Sorry!

Apart your caressing and taking care of each other soo gently, I never said Bossman is not skilled. I never even saw him in battle, how could I say that? Please read better! And try to understand what you read, because I said a completely different thing!
I also actually said he has not the profile of a drugger (which is a kind of a positive thing IMO).

Why do you insist to show that I am HELL? I don't bite!   Am I soo evil because I have a different point of you than you?

And I don't think this is the right place to discuss about paints, don't you agree?

Ah, by the way, generally speaking I fully agree with this (even if I am not attacking anyone):
You are your own person. If you let the words and actions of others guide you, you're leading yourself to ruin. Defend yourself if you must, and move on.

Ok, we get it: You are a fan of supplies and disagree with most, if not all, (but probably all) arguments against them. Although I agree with almost all of the points you have made in this and previous articles.

But please, stop. These articles are now more rants than anything else, and they are getting really tiring and boring. Just same old, same old. Please go back to writing quality articles :(
