A guide to Shaft

Well allow me to fill you in: I gave up on that account.

Now I go to the lower ranks and offer assistance to those that need it.

This game is going downhill, I mostly stick to the forums to see what piece of crap update comes next.

I create these guides because it makes me feel like I've gained something from playing the game. In this case: Knowledge and tips for newcomers.

Also, my main hull is M0 because I don't buy crystals

Well I see that you do have M1's but your not using them.

Also do you have a higher ranked account? Because Warrant Officer 3 doesn't imply lots of experience...

Want to take your criticism somewhere else?

I gave up because of all the BS I have to go through.

Something your rank may not understand, I have to deal with druggers, mults, and bull**** buyers.

You want to know experience? Your boots are hardly soiled.

You didn't answer my question. Do you have a higher ranked account than WO 3 or not?

Im not saying that I have a huge amount of experience playing this game, but I feel that your ideas would be considered more if you personally had more experience. I agree with most of your complaints, its just that you would gain more credibility as you play more Tanki.

I play on lower ranks because of all the crap we warrant officers have to go through.  It's just a big grind for me, no fun to it at all. We are FORCED to grind through druggers and mults.

I have no motivation to do that, so no, I do NOT have an account over WO4.

But believe me, I have some experience with Shaft.

Lessons learned as a beginning sniper.

Avoid street fights; sniping strength is over long distances.  RIO is great for sniping; IRAN not so much.

Shoot from concealment (bushes) or cover (solid barriers or other tanks) where you can shoot through a ‘hole’ or quickly scoot out of sight.

Laser is for shooting, not searching; searching shows everyone where you are by revealing a direct path to your hide.  When playing in a counter-sniper role, I love the noobs who wave that laser all over the sky.  It shows me exactly where to kill that tank.

Stay in wide view until you spot a target with your gun fully recharged but the laser OFF.

Learn to 'register' your initial aim point so you can stay in wide view, with your camera view elevated so you can see more enemy movement.  When an opponent approaches or enters your 'kill zone', that's the time to go laser.

Shoot and scoot.  Others may have noted your laser so staying in one spot too long is suicide.  Find several 'hides' on your map so you can move to the one closest to you or when you re-spawn.

After a few successful kills, move to a new hide; hunter-killers will be gunning for you.

For quicker shots when you are well hidden, put laser on the corner of a nearby wall or a tree or another tank so you build your gun's energy to the maximum and quickly can shift to a target and shoot.

Concealed in bushes, pick a paint that blends in and camouflages.

Use elevated locations to your advantage to enlarge the kill zone.

Look for fatal funnels (lengthy corridors with few exits to the side) where there will be predictable enemy traffic then find a hide where you can safely shoot at it.

Plant mines to protect you and/or warn of sniper hunters.  If you are shooting from the Blue ledge in Kungur, plant one at both entry points to the ledge.  Wear earbuds or headphones and LISTEN for the action.  A mine taking out a tank has a very distinctive CRUMP! sound.  Tanki is stereo and you can hear approaching enemy tank engines, cannons, and when boxes are claimed.  They can warn you of a danger approaching.

Regardless of how much trouble it took to set up a shot, if there is a threat approaching, honor it first.  Scoot out of danger.

Double power (red) and repair (green) boxes are tank bait.  Leave them in place to lure your enemy; the same with dropped flags.  If you kill a tank carrying your team's flag, leave it and they will come like bees to a flower.

For whatever reason my linked ,jpg aren't showing.  Couldn't find a guide to posting pics.

Its still fun to play from major to lieutenant ranks and lower ranks as you said, the rank i may never decide to reach is generalissimo, too many driggers mults and buyers at that rank, unless the game balance is rethought i refuse to rank up to nissmo
