Devs do actually listen to our ideas

 Share

Recommended Posts

From the lobby, to battle chat and to even the forum, at least once a week, I see people say six words. Six words which drive me absolutely insane. And those six words are "Devs never listen to our ideas"

Tell me oh so feisty and fired up tanker sat behind a computer/laptop screen, typing away as the day goes by, what makes you say those six ghastly, dreaded words?

If those evil, corrupted devs don't listen to our ideas, then please explain to how some of tankers problems/complaints got solved.

Let me make a number of examples.

The drug problem - Blimey me... if you think druggers are a pain in the butt these days, well... be very grateful that you weren't around in 2014. Boy oh boy... the balance of this game was so unbalanced with drugs back in 2014. It was complete and utter chaos. You had mini little GodMode_On's driving around the battlefield, with Mammoths + Twins M3+ on full drugs. 90% of the time, they were practically impossible to kill, unless you drugged back of course. And dozens of people complained about this - mostly on the forum on threads.

That was until "smart cool downs" arrived.

In mid September 2014, Tanki Online finally solved the drugging problem with a nice and more balanced update called "smart cool downs." Smart cool downs was a simple update that practically made it impossible to go all crazy and drug "234" constantly and it was an update that made the balance of this game run smoothly as a babies bottom - and the game in general.

So, did the devs listen to our ideas/complaints? The answer - Yes!

Crystal box mults - Oh boy... these guys were the absolute worst out of them all. They ruined team battles (and I'm talking about crystal box mults) extremely badly. Instead of working together as a team, destroying enemies and focusing on the main task - which was "winning the game" - you instead had people equipting Bugtator Dictator, and parking at the places where crystal boxes mostly fell, practically camping. Now these kind of people were camping so much, it actually shocked me that they didn't start making a fire

Crystal box mults did nothing at all to help their team win the battle, apparently collecting a blue shiny box worth 10 measely crystals was more important to them than actually winning the actual battle and getting the most out of the battlefund. Like.... what are you people?? Magpies?!?!  <_<

So again, people complained about this problem - mostly on the forum in threads, and again, those people whom the majority of tankers think that never listen to us called "the devs" solved this problem too.

Early November 2014, a little experiment hit the game. The experiment included quite a few things.

One of those things was removing crystal boxes as a one week experiment.

During the one week experiment, and in team battles, I actually saw something which I have never ever seen since I created a Tanki Online account. And you know what that was? People actually working together like a proper team! Yeah! They were working together with their teammates, and actually focusing on the main task of the battle... which was winning and getting the most out of the battlefund!

Then Tanki removed crystal boxes forever and team play became 100% better.

Despite what many say, the removal of crystal boxes in my opinion was actually one of the best things to ever happen.

Now MR.Furious raging tanker, shaking his fist at me, don't get your knickers in a twist at me after reading that little line.

Don't get me wrong, I - like most people who play this game miss those sea-blue-like crystal boxes, honestly, I really do.

But lets be really honest here... for such small things, they were extremely distracting and effected teamplay really badly.

So, did the devs listen to our ideas/complaints? The answer - Yes!

The auto aim update - When this update hit the game, it was hell! Especially for XP/BP battles. No matter where abouts an enemies Railgun hit you, you flipped like a pancake on pancake day. Getting flipped as soon as you respawned became very annoying very quickly.

So, people complained about this problem on the forum again - on threads, and about a week or two later, the devs - like the kind people they are actually decreased the impact force of Railgun. And by decreasing the impact force, it took a lot more skill and effort to flip an enemy. The chances of you flipping was still there, but it was less likely.

Then one day, out of the blue tanki removed the flipping feature all together (without telling us might I add <_<) and now the chances these days of getting flipped in an XP/BP battle is ALMOST, and I repeat - ALMOST impossible. But these days, 90% of the time you're less likely to flip  ;)

So again... did the devs listen to our ideas/complaints? The answer to that question is bigger than an elfs ear... - YES!

So, it just goes to show that the devs do after all listen to our ideas.

They don't listen to every single idea going - but they do listen to most of them.

And if you are one of those crafty tankers who dare to even utter those six monstrous words, well guess what my good old friend - you couldn't be anymore wrong.

I think my point has now been well and truely proven, wouldn't you say?

Now, if I see anyone type those six aweful, dreaded words ever again, then I'll... * ow ow ow ow *

I'm joking sir/madam, just read the whole of this thread   ;)

Do devs listen to our ideas ? They used to do it in the past, but sadly enough, not now. First of all, the Premium accounts feature. Now who was it that came waltzing around in a closed topic suggesting something for buyers only, reopened and closed it, saying that something like this will never happen ? That's right, tankerinos, it was ! Now who declared it an experiment that Premium players will be getting a 100% crystal bonus instead of the former 50% ? The devs. Who released a stupid, new, Micro-upgrade system, which restricted us from customizing our own equipment. It was the devs again ! Tanki has gone bloodmoneythirsty recently and has been releasing updates in the favor of buyers. Are you not seeing the point I'm trying to make ?

Yes, I understand what you mean.

But when people say "devs NEVER listen to our ideas" like... they never ever listen to us - not even once, then they couldn't be anymore wrong.

Well done !! Something which the other tankers had to get in their heads )

Thanks :)

Great job, completely agree. They also listened to us regarding the premium paint, taking the protection from 20% to 15.

Thank you :D

And exactly!

Problem is a bit different. Certain people tend to burst their ideas all over the forum and expect immediate reaction from the dev team. This is simply impossible. And even if it is possible, some ideas are never going to happen. This is where "they don't listen to our ideas" comes from. It is more like "they refuse to immediately execute my idea so I will draw some more attention".

I quitted posting my comments on I&S section of the game, but I never quitted reading it. Sorry, but it is really tiresome to explain again and again why certain things are not possible at the moment.

I can't say that I don't blame you for doing that to be honest
