Add manual zooming to Shaft

Just no. Ok? No.

Shaft is damn OP already! Zooming? ok then lowering power of projectile!

1 tank per shot?

Im going with arcade mode to enemy base!

(Im already doing that in arcade mode... but still)

Its no more OP that Railgun and Vulcan or many other turrets for that matter.  An already awkward turret was absolutely ruined when they added the laser beam and removed some of the cover that shaft might once have hidden.  If shaft hides now in bushes as soon as it scopes everyone can see it.  Hardly a sniper weapon.  The only thing that has prevented its absolute demise is not the weapon but the inventiveness and imagination of its operators.

This would be a fun feature, but it would also be a little overpowered.

Currently, one of the reasons why Shaft is limited to mostly long range use is because your field of view when fully charged is very limited- anyone you can snipe will be in big trouble, but anyone who is crafty enough to wait for you to look away can sneak past you or get a shot in, and at close range most enemies can maneuver away fast enough to avoid your shots. This prevents a single Shaft from locking down too large of a section of map at a time or being too easy to use up close. If manual zoom was implemented, I would probably set it to the lowest setting- if this lowest setting was equal to the current initial zoom, it would be much easier to use Shaft at close ranges and the game balance would be affected.

A larger map than Dusseldorf would not make lag. This map would be a perfect choice for campers using Shaft, and players who wants to have a huge battle. The "Assault Mode" would so fun on a huge map like this for players using any long range turret, like Vulcan, or else.

This map would support any of the four current battle modes. Players who choose to create Deathmatch (DM) battles can do lots of carnage and massacre to any other players. This map would support a maximum of 100 players. But 50 players to team battles.

I don't think you understand. ^That is the very reason why there would be lag. -_- Imagine if 10 of those battles were created. Assuming they're all full, that would be 1000 players sending requests to the server, which the server has to process all of them, then send every response back to every player. Game servers aren't machines with infinite power that can handle anything. Let me see you make one that can quickly process 1000 requests in time to keep the game pace (also taking into account players with lag or not-so-good internet). Until then, stop assuming that Tanki servers can handle anything you want them to handle.

OK. Now I do understand what you are speaking about lag. Thank you very much for clearly explain. Tanki Online needs to have faster and better servers, some point in the future. More servers has to be in demand in the near future when they can afford it.

Dude... Are u 8 years old with dads account?

Do you realy think everything comes when you want it? No it dont.

Look at your topics! They are funny as hell!

You should hide all of them. They are impossible to immagine.

Shaft with zoom?

No! if zoom is possible, then it should be zoomed with mouse wheel. If you zoom out, your turret becomes weaker.

Shaft 1 hit kill?

Think with your head! Here are some rare hulls such as mammoths and titan because they can survive most of the things but if shaft will be 1 shot kill, everyone will use it with wasp (Because health will give you nothing in this game. Only what matters will be speed to run away from shafts scope)

Map 50vs50 for shafts?

Yea! should be funny map! Extreme laggs and battlefound for gizzmos will be 0 crystals after 5 hours of playing. Why? Because everyone will camp and wait for someone to show up!

Shaft is UP??

Shaft has the most damage per second! Its damn OP not UP.

Hide laser?

It was an update to balance shaft! If shaft is hiding in bushes, its easier to spot him but if he is good with shaft, its still hard to hit him without being killed.

===================

EDIT

===================

Btw use mouse with shaft to see how much OP is it. (Use both mouse buttons to look around while in scope mode and aim somewhere, when your laser isnt there at all.)

Then everyone using Shaft would hide it -_- The purpose of the laser is so that other players would be aware of a Shaft aiming at them and take the appropriate actions, and it introduces new skill to be mastered, hiding the Shaft laser using surrounding buildings or other players, or quick scoping.

Shaft is the less used turret in the battlefield. It is not a reliable weapon in any map, everyone's bullet will hit you before you open fire because it needs to load before firing. It loads a lot slower than Railgun's shot, so everyone relies on Railgun when facing someone at distance. The maps are not big enough to make a Railgun user miss a shot against a player who is in the other side of the map. Thunder and Vulcan are also used very oftenly to fight at long range because they deal a considerable amount of damage when their maximun effective range has been exceded. Shafts are not useful at all when fighting at close range because it is only long range intended. The guns I mentioned before are alot more versatile because they can be used in almost every map and they are even better than Shaft in "Shaft's maps" such as Madness, Brest, Lost Temple, Highways... My idea is to add the ability to alternate Shaft's zoom when it is... zoomed. When zooming, a,w,s,d keys are not used. I think this can be easily implemented and will make Shaft a bit more reliable in smaller maps such as Atra, Sandbox, Red Alert... It should not lose its "penetration" feature... it should be even boosted... Laser? For the love of God ( no need to say something else about it ) It is the only sniper gun and there isn't any truly suitable map for it, so let's make it a bit more reliable in the maps we already have...

Shaft is not OP. In fact it is the rarest and weakest weapon at the highest ranks, taking tons of skill and extreme reflexes to handle properly.

I disagree with this idea for the stock Shaft, but:

I would like to see an alteration that gives Manual Zooming. It could be an m3 alteration and you can change your scope and field of vision. However, the downside would be that it decreases the power of arcade shots.

Gonna have to stop you right there, *starts to attack enemy shaft with freeze* *shaft charges a shot powerful enough to one shot me before its even frozen* How is that fair?

Why are you attacking a Shaft from the front?

Highways or kolhoz come to mind.

You are playing at Highways with a Freeze?

Imho, short range guns are pretty good on any map. Combined with a fast hull, you just need to use cover to get to your enemies and once you do -  they're toast (or iced :D).

Please agree on a map larger than Dusseldorf, supporting up to 100 players maximum, instead of 40 players maximum in Dusseldorf.

This much largerlagger map would be very idealuseless too for Assault Modeevery battles as well as regular battles.

Please stop killing people with coloric text and dumb ideas

Because they sit in a spot where you can only be attacked from the front.

Then why are you attacking them with a short-range gun? With a short-ranger you have to get behind them. If you want to kill shafts just go to the garage and equip Railgun or Shaft and snipe them from far away.

If enemy Shaft or Railgun don't blow you to pieces before that. Or when your team is leading 9:0 in CTF, so you can sit in ambush waiting peacefully for some Mammoth / Isida (e.g) to be iced. Or if some Smoky with DD on is not "poking" you as you go toward him.

...etc...

Are you challenging me to get first place with a short range weapon on a large, open map? :D
