DDOS in tournaments

DDOS: is an attempt to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users such as to temporarily or indefinitely interrupt or suspend services of a host  connected to the internet

There are some clan use DDOS Attack to win tournaments it's just for 5$

someone buy a DDOS for 5$ and win the Tournaments ?

Is that fair ?

We need a way to stop those players

I play +6 hours in Tournament at the end I lost because of DDOS ?

If some clans complained about a clan still doing DDOS attacks give the clan a ban from participating in tournaments

There aren't many things Tanki can do, but you can change your IP address and then hide it, or just put some monitor that will change your IP address every 10 minutes/ 1 hour/ etc.

if you get ddos-ed you have a scrub computer, no anti virus software or a crap internet... ddos-ing shouldn't happen if you have a decent computer or a anti virus software such as bitdefender which completely blocks ddos-ing

A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack occurs when multiple systems flood the bandwidth or resources of a targeted system. DDOS is not done on your computer in the case of Tanki. It's done on the servers. You having an antivirus doesn't do a bit.

We cannot buy DDOS, it just requires bunch of people knowing how to DDOS.

And how do you know the people from the enemy clan is doing DDOS?

Changing IP won't do.

 

PS: Me personally don't think people DDOS tanki servers, Tanki should add DDOS protection, which they apparently do.

This is big problem, I experienced it too. I don't think we need to name any clans, as we all know who the ones doing it are :) what you should do (assuming you are clan leader + talking about DC, in sl):

 

1) tell EVERYONE from your team to remove their skype Id from SL. This could have big consequences, and if you are the only one with skype id, then if anyone can get DDOSed, it's just you, and someone can fill in for you, if you have only 1 reserve.

 

2) If you get DDOSed, switch off your modem and back on again. Internet should be working normally. Make sure you don't have static IP

 

3) make sure you have 1 reserve atleast, in case of a DDOS attack on you.

 

4) the best thing to do on sl, is to not even enter your skype id there. Simply find your opponent, and if they need proof that you are the leader, simply add your skype, take a screen, tell opponent to check your sl page (or just give him screen :lol:) and then remove it immediately. This way it will be hard for opponents to see your IP and eventually DDOS.
