invalid Countdown timer to server reset

Just an observation. Am sure we're not losing zillions of new players for this, but still. 

 

Would it help if the TO main page hosted a countdown timer for the server resets? (And also, probably the cause behind said resets, e.g. daily/regular vs. special updates etc.?)

 

Since that time varies--at times, at least--it can be a sort of an "estimated" thingy, even; precision isn't the key here, after all.

Just that... imagine a newbie coming in, all eager to play Tanki, only to find that dreadful "servers are temporarily unavailable" msg., and never, ever returning.  B)

 

As mentioned earlier, I don't, myself, consider this to be an addition of the utmost importance, but what say y'all? Food for thought, nonetheless?

Anywho, I agree that this isn't super necessary but it would be a nice addition and I don't think it would be all that hard to implement.

My point, exactly. Even a semi-accurate timer is bound to be better than none. Wouldn't take up that much space either.

The server restart happens at the same time EVERY day. When there are mid day server restarts to add major updates or fix things, there is a notice about it on the homepage. If they werent expecting to shut the servers down, they wouldnt be able to put a timer there.

An idea is invalid when either cannot be done or it's already in the game and the poster simply didn't know about it. This is neither of those things, and it's definitely possible to implement. Furthermore, it's actually not a bad idea, since not everyone knows about server restart time and is able to constantly keep track of it. At least an on-screen warning an hour, half an hour and 15 minutes before restart would be nice.

Seems way too unneeded to be implemented imho. Server updates are relatively scheduled and if Server Updates that come unexpectedly do occur, Tanki would want to get it over and done with ASAP.

Yeah, so those gold droppers can safely drop without a fear they forgot about the time - there is a timer.

yes this idea is awesome i was playing tanki and then the server restarts on me in the middle of a battle XD it would be nice to know when it restarts :lol:
