1.2. Contain elements of racism, fascism, insults or nicknames based on racial, national or religious identity, or those inciting hatred, intolerance, ethnic discord;

sorry if i appear to be uneducated or ignorant, but i did some "research" and it said that historically most fascist regimes were racist.. but this doesn't mean that fascism must include racism..? fascism is, after all, just a political party, no? it also has a political side to it..

Hm, very interesting thread! You've got a good point -- fascism is a type of government, namely "an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of governmental and societal organization" (definition from Google).

However, fascism has developed a connotation of intolerance, racism and ruthlessness since it's been used alongside those principles historically (in 20th century Germany and Russia). So Tanki is trying to say don't be intolerant/racist, but I agree that they shouldn't put fascist in this section of the rules since nothing is inherently wrong with fascism.

In a similar way, nothing at all is inherently wrong with communism; in fact, it's a very intriguing alternative form of government that solves a lot of huge flaws of capitalism. It just has a negative connotation because of the repressive way it's been used in China and Russia.

Not a very major flaw with the game rules, but interesting nonetheless!

And the Communism example you brought up was good

Perhaps fascism may not always be related to a violent/racist/extremist organisation, but its most common interpretation is, in fact, relation to a very... inappropriate system of government, which is involved in extremist methods of control. In fact, I'd say that at least 90% of the time the word "fascism" is used, it's used to describe or relate to the Nazis and Hitler, and you're out of your mind if you think either of these is good.

The situation with the word "fascism" is similar to that of certain common insults in the way that some of them are not actually offensive or inappropriate words, but the context they are used in most of the time is inappropriate, abusive, provocative, therefore they're prohibited by the rules.

Anyways, I would agree with MAFIOS0. Although fascism isn't inherently

bad, it is almost always used in reference to the Nazis. Who were undoubtedly bad.

Are you speaking in the perspective of outside or inside of Germany in the 1930's?
