Top 10 Things about Tanki Online

 Share

Recommended Posts

1.) It's free

      - Admittedly, most MMO games are free, but free is always a huge plus. I hate paying for a game and then not liking it.

2.) Its in 3D

      - 3D games are almost always better than 2D games. It reflects the amount of time and patience, the numerous trial and errors, and the overall hard work of the game developers. Good to see a game that has thought put into it.

3.) You can actually win without paying money.

      - This is a HUGE plus. I can't tell you how many times I've got onto a game, only to find it practically impossible to beat without either checking it every 10 minutes, or spending money on it. (By beat it, I mean like complete it, there are games that you can't beat but can level up all the way.) And paying money is not bad, in fact it's often very good, for both your progress in the game and the developers.

4,) There is more to do once you have "beaten the game".

      - With most games, even once you have "beaten" it with money, there is nothing to do, and then you realize something. I have nothing else to do with this game, and I spent over $100 dollars on it. With Tanki Online, you can go on to helping the developers with the game, and being a monitor among the players.

5.) Friends and Clans

      - How many times do you 'sign up for a clan' and nothing happens? How many times do you 'add someone to your friends list' and nothing happens? Well, Tanki Online has great clans where you train, you practice, you fight, and you win or lose together, always being a clan. Your friends don't occasionally send you "50 lumber" of which you already have thousands of, they come and play with you, or against you!

6.) Parcour

      - Forgive me if I spelled this wrong, but parcour is one of the funnest things about Tanki Online. Admittedly it can be annoying, lying on your back, waiting to blow yourself up if no one else does, but parcour is one of the most intriguing aspects of Tanki Online. What game is totally designed for something else, and then players find they can do whole new things and it becomes a part of the culture of the game? This is a great aspect of Tanki Online. Although I am a fairly poor parcour player, knowing only the most basic flips and twists, I love the parcour challenges and seeing all the videos of my awesome fellow gamers getting together to pull off some epic tricks!

7.) Video of the Week (V-Log) and the TO Newspaper

     - I have never played a game where I get to see different aspects of the development, and hear a voice and watch a person speak who is directly involved with Tanki Online (Thanks Simon)! And the TO Newspaper, written by fellow gamers really is interesting, I encourage anyone reading this to check it out. They post some helpful and fascinating articles about TO on there.

8.) Constant Updates

     - You got to love the constant updates we get. Even if I wish some things didn't disappear, it's fun to see the new updates and try out the new and updated version of a turret or hull, or paint or combinations of all. And it's a lot of fun once you get those wonderful special kits!!!!

9.) Compatibility

     - Believe it or not, ever since my PC broke, I was in a huge dilemma, I didn't have enough money to buy a new one but I needed to get work done, so I bought a Toshiba Chromebook. I tried numerous games, but to no avail. That is actually when I stumbled across Tanki Online. I thought, oh well, might as well give it a try... IT WORKED. HOW AMAZING. Tanki Online, you saved my life! Or killed it, whichever way you think about it, but I can play a 3D MMO game online, with little to no lag (if I turn off all the special effects) for free, on a CHROMEBOOK. It's amazing! Thanks so much.

10.) Creativity

    - Honestly, the number one biggest killer of games for me, was it's lack of creativity. Sure it might have a story line and cool 3D images, but hey, I can pick up a good book and I have a creative enough imagination that I don't need to play those types of games. (Seriously, I'm a geeky, athletic, smart nerd. Whose Varsity Soccer Captain and Champion Chess player at their high school and win the arts award two times in a row?) But with Tanki Online, I can change turrets and hulls when I get bored of one game play, and have a whole new game play style! Plus, with every new upgrade of a turret or hull (or just buying the turret or hull) there is a whole new game play style to learn!

OK I'm done talking. If you actually read this through, please tell me what you think about it. Meanwhile, I'm gonna go finish my Missions. Another thing I should have added. I can go on about Tanki Online but these are definitely my top ten. Please comment, I'm interested to hear what other gamers have to say on this.

Thanks!!!

Why don't u like the positive feedbacks

Who said I didn't like it? I actually "liked" the topic with the ratings feature - not something I do very often lately.

A topic with genuine positive feedback about Tanki? What's going on? o_O

Under major rank, unbeknown from future rank difficulty.

Disagree with 3.

His definition of win is different from what you're thinking. He's basically saying that you can acquire every piece of gear without paying a cent, which is true.

I agree. Spot on, man! Most of us are engrossed in criticizing the bad things about TO but we forget to acknowledge to goodness and pros of this game. :)

BTW, you got that "50 lumber" from Travian right? I used to play it, for like 3-4 years (on and off it) but I can say you can't get to the top without no-lifing..

Thank you all for the great feedback! Yes, I did write this to counter all the complaints, and yes, of course Tanki has it's problems... if you can point me to the 'perfect game' please do. But I do believe it is an overall great game!

hey wardeers (: best thing about tanki? the friendly user interface and the social interface. top notch i'ld say. Thats what many mmo games are lacking in. The social friendliness in this game is also what made me continue staying in this game.

I was playing a fun little Island match, and this wallet warrior showed up and very quickly got 14 kills to no deaths, that's when you know a game has gone pay2win.

By drugging? You can drug too if you save it up. I don't know too much about the higher ranks, but when someone like that gets on the playing field, I use my firebird... I am very good with firebird. And I can usually burn them as fast as they kill me. But as I said, I don't know what it's like in the higher ranks.... maybe on Island I'd use ricochet? idk. But thanks for the tip!

That's cool to hear it influenced you so much! Yes, the friendliness can be very welcome! I have seen players stand up for other players who are getting hit up by better players... it's pretty cool to see.
