Battles with simmilar powerful equipment

Recommended Posts

I realize the big spenders are probably %75 of Tanki's income. While it would be awesome to prevent drugging, the real problem is these people put more money into the game than anyone could possibly spend. If their hulls and turrets were not maxed out against people who barely have upgrades, then drugging wouldn't be such a huge deal.  Some people go through more repair kits a week than I've had the entire time I've played Tanki. They spend more on supplies apparently than I have ever had crystals total.

I used to put $20 here, $40 there into the game but these people are spending thousands every month. I cannot compete with that.  People who are 2 and 3 ranks below me are killing me in an M2 Viking with one shot with a rail gun, 1 or 2 with a ricochet, in 2 seconds flat with flame or Islda, or twins. Some of these guys I shoot 4 and 5 times with an M2 Shaft and it's like I didn't even scratch their paint. Other games where I'm not fighting people who spend more per week than most people make a month, the games are fun and challenging. Rail guns do not always instantly kill you. Takes 2 or 3 shots to kill you from somebody the same rank.

The point is you can kill and be killed. The druggets take all the fun out of the game. Not only do they have uber tanks, they then compound it using shields, double damage and repair kits. If I had a hull and turret that was in the same league as them, then drugging would be an annoyance rather than making me want to give up on the game and meaning every penny I spend on the game is wasted. If I spent every penny I made I could not keep up with these guys. Then they throw double damage and armor and use repair kits on top of that????  I might as well be a corporal using an M0 against them. I shot them, shoot them again, they hit a repair kit and kill me and 3 others. All of us shooting them in a Wasp or Hornet or Hunter. Seriously?

A rating system based on the hull & turret would be a much better way of doing things. Any combination which exceeds the limit of the game your in you couldn't change equipment to put it on while in the game.

The advantages of this are.

It keeps the game competitive. Every tank can kill other tanks and every tank can be killed by other tanks. No more having a single tank essentially destroy the entire other team.

It will allow you to play and refine other turrets. For example I have a Smokey and Rail gun I never use. It's pointless. I cannot keep up with the Shaft, Twin Islda  on a Viking that I use plus the ONE paint job I have and STILL cannot afford to upgrade to max.  It'd be fun though to go learn how to use other turrets, but not have to have spent a million credits to get them up to your level.

Rating being

4 parts for your turret. For example an M0 upgrade less than half way would be 0 points. An M0 upgraded over half way 1 point. An M1 turret upgraded less than halfway would be say 3 points and so on. Same with hulls. Paints are less important and paints should be rated by the cost an assigned points. For example paints not on sale that cost 3k should be work 1 point, 30k or more 3 points, and so on.

Same basic idea as the ranks but it would produce a more balanced game. You would see a lot less people leave and drugging wouldn't be such a huge issue.

The idea is to level the playing field.  That way people who do not pour every penny they make can actually play the game and be competitive. I'm a good player. Given equal tanks I'll win 3 times out of 4 against most players.  I cannot even get a shot in nowadays.  Everybody kills me with one shot. I have to shoot them 10 times to kill them. Why play?

So you limit the map by equipment rather than rank. Let people with tanks play that kill each other.

I just got out of a map where 10 of us combined against a Captain. All of us Captain or above. Yes he had a Titan but no double armor. TEN of us, we couldn't wear him down. He'd just hit a repair kit and by the time we got him close to dead he could use another repair kit and did. Seriously? WTF is the point of even playing on a map with a gargantuan like that?

You don't have to write a massive wall of text to propose something as simple as a limitation on equipment used in battle...

I'm serious, at full damage and I KNOW I hit the critter.  No exaggeration at all. They did not have double armor on either on most of those occasions.

Sorry Mafioso I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY frustrated. I'm a good player, love the game but the imbalance is killing all joy I have for the game.

Nice idea - but sometimes those "druggers" are pretty skillful in combining garage supplies with drop supplies. That Titan you faced was either MUed or was a "skillful" drugger.

Btw NewbieCake is right, this is placing a limit on usable equipment.

After the update that changed the MU proccess and the gift of free full MU to every item that had one parameter fully MUed, the field has been full of M4s.

That makes for A LOT of armor AND damage power.

Now, who's the most probable owner of many items (hulls, turrets and paints)? That's right, buyers.

Who's the most probable owner of maaaany supplies? That's right, buyers, too.

And finally, who's the most probable owner of fully MUed items? Yep, buyers.

And who's the most probable owner of all above things combined?

Easy to see... buyers ONLY.*

That's why the above idea is a very good one, no matter how Tanki could measure the capabilities of tanks.. But having an M3 and going against an M4 is a difficult thing. Having an M2 and facing an M4, that's suicide.

Battles should have a performance range applied for each tank that wants to take part. Just like a WO3 shouldn't be playing the same battle with Gssimos, an M2 shouldn't play in the same battle with M4s.**

[in order tanks should be rated efficiently, a MU "ranking" is mandatory, like Draciron said. Maybe 5 "steps" for each Modification and a limit, say, of 15 steps between the lower tank and the higher tank. Hulls, turrets and paints could be measured by certain factors (33% maybe) and thus an effective range could be created]

* I would like to state clearly that I don't blame buyers for buying. I blame the company that keeps power selling as the only option of income. I say that, because I don't want buyers to think I hate them or something.

** Maybe, that rule could be turned off in Pro battles, so that special cases (friends, clan training etc) allow for a wider range of ammo.
