Confused over crystal sale- did I miss something?

So, Merry Christmas to all but I'm a bit "bah humbug" over this crystal sale.  What's the big deal on 25% extra when we get the double crystal card at other times with the equivalent 50% extra?  Even if we use the Paypal feature and get another whatever % bonus, it's still less than the "usual" discount.  Am I right?

You get 25% extra crystals on the bonus crystals and the original crystals in the package, for example if you're buying a kit with 100,000 crystals and 100,000 bonus crystals you get 125,000 crystals and 125,000 bonus crystals. If you have a double crystals card both figures will be doubled

 

Prices can vary for each different option you choose to pay, you still get the 25% bonus anyway
