My Challange

The other day I was playing and I saw a guy using M2 Hunter and M1 Smoky, one rank above me (Lieutenant Colonel). However, after his crit took off half my M2 Hornet's health, I had to ask him what was going on. Unsurprisingly, he had MUed his M1 SMoky fully. What was surprising was that his only gun was Smoky and his only hull was Hunter, both with 340ishk XP earned on them (he must have played a bit before that update).

 

So, inspired by this guy (name: melto22) I have decided to make a new account and, just like him, use only Hunter and Smoky. The main reason I want to do this is because I have barely ever used Smoky or Hunter, so it should be fun to get some experience with the two. I was thinking that if anyone else wants to, they could pick a combo they are unfamiliar with (so probably not Hornet+Rail :P) and go as far as they can.

It's fun! And challenging without drugging. I do not drug but I do use the "hardware" available (mines). Mines do not enhance my turret, hull or health, so I do not consider it a drug. I find them useful when being pursued on the move or for covering a blind spot when camping. The only luxury I will allow myself is any upgrade for the Smoky turret or Hunter hull. I will not use any special paints. I will force myself to maneuver as it will be my main protection - not being there when the shot comes. It is a balance of cover and shot accuracy when using this combination without special protection or enhancements. Eventually, this combo will rise and fall when new ranks are achieved and better weapons are faced. But it's OK. This experiment is turning out to be a fun challenge.

Wasp-Rico.  That's one of those things to try.  I've only ever seen 1 RU guy be really good at it, quite a while back.  Seen many others play it, but not as effectively as that aforementioned guy, whom I sadly forgotten the name since.

Iv been thinking of doing this for a while now. Iv seen 2 people with higher ranks than me that only have hunter/smokey(they did have some paints though). Smokey/Hunter is not a bad combo either....everyone thinks it is because its the starter loadout and in most games that would mean it sucks. Hunter/Smokey is a very versitile combo and perform well everywhere so thats why devs made it starter loadout. Im thinking that this "challenge" will not really be much of a challenge at all because many people just are not great with smokey,even though its a great turret. This could also become op because the only items being upgraded are those so all crystals will go towards them.

I've done something similar to this with an alt of my own in the past, but instead of using Hunter, I used Wasp for the fun of it. Managed to make it all the way up to Warrant Officer 5 by just using that combo, but only playing on Rio. 

 

It was fun while it lasted.

True withbthe m0 part,but iv fought m1 smokey and hunter and they are REALLY good. I have m1 hunter so i know its great too(m1 hunter is better than viking in every way; speed, protection, power, turning......)

And that is the challenge. I cannot wait to get up to a Smoky-M2. I've heard so many good things about it. However, Smoky's vertical axis is better than most.

You were doing Titan-Railgun? How was that working out?

Let me tell you now: It is NOT an attacker.

It has it's perks, it works well as a long to mid-range supporter.

At the cost of lower speed and atrocious firing rate, it has a nice punch and looks like a T-34-85.
