What happened to the downvote button

I think these little red boxes are kinda scary; especially the damaging contents they hold.

Anyways though,

By removing the downvote button players are now forced to explain why they don't like the update in a comment. Leaving a dislike does not help the developers understand what is wrong with a new update.

What about posts made by normal users

When the upvote/downvote first came out, it didn't apply to moderators because tanki was afraid users would downvote moderator 'just because they were mods'. I argued about it and eventually they allowed votes on moderators. And guess how it turned out? Not bad at all, actually - the system worked just fine, even with mods..

I think that likes should be disabled in the News and Announcements section, because then people just start Judging an update by the no. of likes it has received.

Or at least allow it so that only Forum Admins can see the number of up and down-votes on topics in the News and Announcements Section, so that they can relay that (hopefully accurate and unbiased, since normal players wouldn't be able to see) information back to the devs, if it's worth anything.

Once upon a time in a far away land there was a rich guy. This rich guy wanted even more money, so, he decided the perfect way to do that was update his game in a way that would make it far less fun, but for a short period, earn him more money. He updated, but, to no-ones surprise aside from the rich guys, people did not like this update. The people hit that downvote button 'till it broke off the screen.

The rich man cried, his poor downvote button was broken in pieces on the floor of his website. It was a sad day for his employees, who were promptly told to do twice as much work. The rich guy saw the unhappy workers, overburdened by the new workload, and was very pleased. He was a bit sadistic.

Luckily for the employees, the rich guy is an amnesiac, and forgets everything every week. The employees ran around removing all the downvote buttons, and soon the rich guy just thought there was never any downvote buttons. The workload was put back to normal and everyone was happy again. Except for us.
