Add character bindings and other goodies under advanced settings

Okay, I've heard the "simplicity" argument, how about locking the "hard to understand, tough things" under Advanced Settings?

Things like:

Key bindings

An adjustable sensitivity meter for mouse control players

Brightness

Other graphical settings so I can make it match my mac perfectly

 

These would be under Advanced Settings and when you select that it should warn you with the message:

"Warning, these edit key parts of the game! Be sure you know what you are doing!".

So us more intellectuals can customize the game to fit our needs.

Yes, I think this would be nice. I doubt it will be implemented though, because very few players would use it.

No, Tanki is implying people are not smart enough to understand the basics of online gaming, like a HUD with a radar, or more keys than a flash game on Newgrounds uses.

But yes, I'm pretty sure only I and a few others would use this.

I simply must disagree with you on this. The most important and pressing issue facing Tankionline today is the addition of an Automatic Greyat Removal System.

 

 

Joking, but the only thing I really understand from what you mentioned was the brightness. I guess that proves I'm... ahem... "not too bright." Brightness would be good to adjust, but so would adjusting the distance of the camera from the tank.

 

 

And why on earth would you need a radar? Most maps are too small to need one of those.

Just saying, key bindings are my main target here.

But the reason for putting them under "Advanced settings" is so that they aren't fiddled with by a young child

I don't understand the need for a radar either, that was an example, it's ineffective because by the time you spot someone a Shaft would have taken you out and the spotted enemy would disappear from it.

No, I just have no idea what a key "binding" is.

Setting a specific key to a specific action.

Like "W" is to "Forward".

So I can lay down and use keys that my appendages can reach easily.

The new settings menu has custom controls and mouse sensitivity. Brightness and contrast can be set on your PC, but it's possible that those will also eventually be added.
